Flames in the Sky

It was a clear star filled night over Ponyville while Twilight Sparkle sat on the balcony of her library home and watched the stars. There was a meteor shower that night and Luna had really outdone herself that night. So she sat there looking up at the night sky when suddenly a particularly Bright one caught her attention out of the corner of her eye. As she looked over she noted that it seemed lower than the others. Perhaps Luna had made a mistake. She was so caught up in her musing that she failed to notice it was getting lower and heading right for her. She was startled out of her musing by a Low rumbling that was steadily getting louder. She realized to her horror that it was coming from the low comet that was now heading right for her!

It screamed over her head close enough that she could feel the heat coming from it. Time seemed to go in slow motion as she looked up at it and noticed it's irregular shape and how pieces were falling off it in a manor unlike a regular comet. She followed it with her eyes and saw it land on the outskirts of Ponyville with a loud BANG. Seconds later maybe four or five smaller comets followed it landing near it. she sat there for what a minute just staring at where it had landed as if in a trance. When she shook herself out of the trance her mind exploded with possibilities. Was it just a comet and Luna had made a mistake, or was it something else. She called for spike to take a letter. After he sent the letter she ran off to get her friends.

20 minutes later Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, Apple Jack and Pinkie Pie all stood on the outskirts of Ponyville near where the comet had landed. as she looked into the crater one thing became certain what fell from the sky that night wasn't a comet. Standing at the edge of the crater made by the object Twilight could see small fires burning everywhere. But above all what really stood out was a large circular burnt object in the middle of the crater and a slightly smaller 11 sided polygon suspended above it a few centimeters. Twilight walked towards it. Hesitantly she touched the burnt metal with her hooves. suddenly a hatch poped open with a hiss. Looking inside Twilight could see a record... a Golden Record to be exact. Carefully picking it up in her hooves she turned to her friends and said, "We need something to play this on."
