Flames in the Sky

10 Minutes later after borrowing Vinyl Scratch's record player Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie were all seated around the Record Player in Twilight's house. Twilight carefully placed the record on the player and sat back down, pulling out a quill and some parchment to take notes on. The record started to play

Twilight's Notes,

August 28th,1457

Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity and I found the wreckage of a metallic space craft... thingy on the outskirts of Ponyville. After investigating the wreckage I found a golden record inside. I borrowed Vinyl Scratch's record player to play it. This is what was on the record.

*Static* "Hello." *static* "I am the President of These United States of America." "You are hearing this message because me and my entire species is dead." "We made this space craft so that when a new species takes our place we will still be remembered and so that no other species will make the same mistakes that we did." "On this record you will find all the greatest achievements of our race and all the worst mistakes we made." "But first you probably want to know how our species died out." "Well thousands of years ago our ancestors went through a revolution where they learned that if you burned coal you could power machines that could make life way easier than it was." "The down side of this was that the burning coal would produce clouds of black smoke that was harmful to humans and the environment." "even after a mistake that cost the lives of 12,000 human lives only a select group of us became worried of the dangerous effects of these life changing machines." "The rest of us loved these machines and the care free way of life they created to much to worry about what at the time seemed like small problems." "In the years since then the use of these machines had become so widespread that the small problems grew into huge problems." "But still many of us remained ignorant and even dismissed the claimes of people who were worried about the problems as crazy and stupid." "gradually we eroded away the ozone layer." "The ozone layer, if you do not know, is the layer of ozone surrounding our planet protecting it from harmful radiation and gamma rays produced by the sun." "But eventually the ozone layer became to thin to protect us any longer." "The hole was small at first barely effecting us, but it rapidly grew until whole towns and countries were burned up by the suns rays." "where I now sit is the last safe place on earth." "It will be destroyed within a week at the most." "Heed this warning and do not make the same mistakes we did."

           The room was filled with stunned silence from the ponies within the only sound heard was a sad tune from the record. Spike walked in and stared at the room full of silent ponies with confusion. walking up to twilight and shaking her she was snapped out of  stunned silence. She quickly wrote something down on the parchment, rolled it up and told spike to send it to Princess Celestia at once.
