"Lyle, wait for me!" I yelled, running after my brother. We were on our way to my own little slice of hell, James Madison High School. Luckily, today was our last day in the place entirely.
"If you want me to wait, Leo, then maybe you should speed up some." Lyle remarked. He was always a bit of a jerk, but he was still my brother and one of my best friends. It was a warm day, but not uncomfortably warm, probably around seventy-eight degrees. I slid to a stop in front of the school building as Lyle froze and almost bowled him over.
"Dammit!" He shouted, stomping his foot. "Dad tricked us again!"
"What do you mean?" Our father absolutely loved pranking us, but he hadn`t done it in a while.
"It`s six-thirty PM!" He replied, pulling out his phone and dialing a number.
"Oh, youve gotta be kidding me. You do... whatever youre doing. I`m just going to go sit over here."
I walked away and sat down on the small ledge in front of the cafeteria windows. While Lyle was talking to somebody, I pulled my laptop out of my backpack.
Well, no time like now to get caught up.
I plugged in my flash drive and opened a set of files. I watched quite a bit of anime, and I needed to get caught up on The World God Only Knows before my friends started talking about it. Lyle came back and sat down next to me.
"What`s up?" I asked him.
"Well, Mom and Dad are both at work, Regina went to God-knows-where with her friends, and its too early to call anyone else. Were screwed."
"Oh well. You wanna get caught up on The World God Only Knows?"
"Sure. At least you`re not watching that other show."
"Really, Lyle? You`re still that mad about me being a Brony?"
"Im not mad about it, Im just really creeped out by it."
"You know what?" I closed my laptop. "If you cant get over it after six freaking months, Im out." I gave Lyle the finger and walked off towards the one place I liked that was already open: Gamestop. There were quite a few employees there that knew me pretty well, and I considered most of them to be my friends.
Oh, wait! I never told you anything about myself! Well, my name is Leonardo Neilson, but most people call me Leo. Im nineteen years old, and this was my last day of school before I could finally get out of that hellhole. Then came college. Everyone except my brother Lyle could give a damn about me being a Brony, but he could never get over it. I was a pretty average guy; fairly pale skin, shaggy, short-cut black hair, stark green eyes, and one of the most mischievous smiles you would ever see. My family was really wealthy, so I had money to do all kinds of awesome stuff, like getting my two custom-made earrings, one shaped like a splotch of black with a crescent moon in the center and the other shaped like a small sun. I had a car, but I rarely ever drove it for fear of ruining its custom paint job. Today was one of those days where I needed it but didnt have it.
"Hey, Leo!" One of the employees greeted me as I stepped through the door.
"Hey, Dan." I replied flatly.
"Something wrong? Come on, lay it on ol` Dan!"
"Eh, not much. Just got kinda pissed at Lyle. You know, anti-Brony-ism and all."
"Oh. You know, Ive got something that Ive been saving for you, and Im pretty sure that itll cheer you up."
Dan reached behind the counter and picked up a small case. Inside it was the one thing that I had been waiting for since it was released.
A copy of Attack On Titan: Last Wings of Humanity.
"How did you get a copy of this!? It hasn`t even been released in America yet!"
"I know a couple guys. FYI, that`s going to be forty bucks."
"Dayum! Worth it, though!" I passed Dan a fifty dollar bill. He handed me back a ten.
"So, I got a question, Leo."
"What?"
"This is something I found on the internet yesterday, and I think you might have a good answer. You and best pony are trapped in the last video game you played, and have to go through the entire story of the game together. How screwed are you?"
"Well, me and Pinkie Pie playing through Jak II? Lets just say that Ive got the greatest Daxter ever. Plus, I know that game like the back of my hand. We`re nowhere near screwed."
"Interesting. Better than playing Sonic Lost World with Applejack."
"Yeah, that would suck. Say, do you have a copy of Soulcalibur V?"
"PS3 or Xbox?"
"Why did you just ask me that? PlayStation all the way, man!"
"Lucky you. Last copy."
"Thanks. Alright, I should probably go home now."
"Before you go, I need to tell you something."
"What?"
"Have fun where youre going!" Dans voice was distorted and deep. For a moment his body turned into a mishmosh of parts from a menagerie of different animals. His eyes glowed purple before they shot a jet of black smoke straight into my face. I fell to the ground, coughing and trying to stay conscious. Before I blacked out, I heard a familiar voice in my head.
You`ll be running into some serious chaos soon. Just a little warning!
