It was a misty morning in Ponyville.  The wet, low down clouds bunched together, especially on the outskirts of the town near the Everfree Forest.  Speaking of, a young Unicorn was having a walk around the area.

And that, is where everything begins.

The Unicorn, who had a brown coat, tousled hair, and handsome green eyes was trotting near the Everfree on a little jog.  Everything was fine, until suddenly he felt a wave of nausea.  Something that felt like a hundred-pound weight crushed him, managing to sprain his left hind ankle and flattening the unlucky Unicorn.

Groaning, he looked up to see... a giant black coat?  Upon further inspection, he noticed there were furless legs coming out of the coat that ended in a shoe, but the shoe extended out suddenly at the bottom of the leg.  There were only two of these, and the other pair of legs turned out to be arms, like those monkeys had but still both didn't have fur.

Finally, the pony saw the strange creature's head, which had a tuft of brown hair as its mane, but it's face was flat and grotesque, as if the creature's muzzle had been smashed in.  It was a creepy looking thing, and the Unicorn tried even harder to push it off him.  Regaining his senses after a minute, the Unicorn realized he had magic, so he lifted the unconscious creature off him and got up.  At that time he also heard a gasp nearby, and turned to see a surprised Pegasus that was staring, wide eyed, at her hooves and wings.  The Unicorn was starting to see more and more random ponies getting up, accompanied by creatures like that of which had crushed him, these other ones also wearing clothes of some sort.

What alarmed the Unicorn even more was they were standing up on their hind legs, and a lot of the ponies were trying to do that too.  So, the Unicorn did what most would do.

Turn tail and run to the princess that lived in Ponyville: Twilight Sparkle.

It was a wet morning in Ponyville, and most ponies weren't outside due to this.  Near the middle of town, where the Golden Oaks Library sat, our favorite six heroines were sheltering in Twilight's house.  They were all helping Twilight with another spell Celestia had sent her.  Well, Rarity and Spike were.  Pinkie Pie was bouncing around in her normal crazy state, while Applejack slept in a corner.  Fluttershy, on the other hoof, was watching Owlowiscious, who Rainbow Dash was challenging to a race.

The six were interrupted when there was a loud and fast knocking on the door.  Twilight trotted over and opened it, and a Unicorn flew inside.  For a second, there was an awkward pause, then the pony regained his composure... sort of, and spoke in a shaky voice.

"Princess! Outside, tons of ponies and, and, monsters just... appeared!"

Twilight raised an eyebrow, confused.

"Monsters?" she asked, "and ponies?"

"Yes! Outside! They were all weird, and they stood on their hind legs, and..."

"Yes, yes, uh, I'll check that out, then."  The brown Unicorn nodded his thanks at her.

By now, Applejack had woken up, and the other ponies were watching Twilight.  She gestured for them to follow, and they went with her outside.  The Unicorn hid behind them, still quite scared as they all walked outside.  It seemed normal, but then Twilight saw on her left what the Unicorn had been talking about near the Everfree.  Strange... things were getting up, accompanied by lots of ponies Twilight had never seen before.  Another weird thing about the new creatures was they-- like the Unicorn had said-- stood on their back legs, even though they had four of them.  They were quite alarming, standing about half a yard bigger than even Twilight, who was taller than the average pony thanks to being an Alicorn.  The new ponies, on the other hoof, were stumbling around trying to get up or just sitting frozen in shock.

Carefully, Twilight and the others trotted past the buildings in Ponyville towards the new arrivals.  When the six finally got out of town and had approached the creatures and ponies, most of them were getting up.  Nearby, Twilight saw a black Pegasus attempting to stand, and went to help.  But when Twilight went to help the Pegasus he saw her and suddenly a long stream of gibberish exited his mouth, and he looked a bit scared.

"No! I'm not going to hurt you!" Twilight said, getting the gist of what the Pegasus was saying.

"I just want to help-- " When he heard Twilight talk his eyes widened, and nearly tripped over himself as he replied.

"Aber ..! Sie sind ... ein farbiges Pferd und Sie ... sprechen!"  Confused, Applejack stepped up.

"What does that mean?" she asked Twilight.

"I don't know much about it," she told Applejack, "but I'm pretty sure that's Ger-mare-n." Applejack was about to comment on how they didn't know Germaren when a young voice interrupted them.

"Huh? Oh, schau!"  Turning, they saw another of the weird creatures pointing at them, with what appeared to be a smile on his face.

Not only did this one look smaller then the rest, but had hands like Spike.  Then the other Dragon-like creatures that had gotten to their feet followed the short one's finger, and seen Twilight and her friends.  Some looked surprised, some intrigued and one or two in the crowd looked excited and happy.

The original small smiling creature ran at them, laughing.  When the small one broke rank, everyone else in the crowd started moving too.  A few ran in the Everfree Forest-- worry about them later-- but for now, Twilight had to deal with the ones that were running into Ponyville.

"Uh, I hate to interrupt," Rarity said in a loud voice, "but I think we should really RUN!" Following suit, the rest of the mane six dashed away from the creatures chasing them.  Quickly, Rainbow Dash flew down to Twilight's level.

"Uh, Twilight?" she asked, "What are we going to do about this?"  With that, Rainbow gestured to the creatures that were roaming free in Ponyville.

"Well, uh... something?" the Alicorn managed to stutter in a confused voice, wanting to ask that very question herself.
