Twilight Finds The Death Note

Shaking, Night Shine stared at the five wide eyed mares sitting in his living room. Suddenly, Pinkie Pie ran and shouted in response, "No. What are you doing in Twilight's room?” Applejack proceeded to trot over to see what was going on. Puzzled, Night Shine stared at the two, trying desperately to understand.

"It just seems there has been a little mix up in the rooms! You're visiting too right?" Asked Applejack. The colt slammed his hoof on the floor in anger, "I have had this room for over two years now! It just so happens that five mares are in it! I have every right to call the royal guard right now!"

Rainbow flew over, "You're a little hot headed for a clot, aren't you?"

"Only when there are random ponies in my room!"

There was a loud bang as the upper bedroom door opened and an alicorn shouted down, "Can you keep it down? I'm trying to.... read!" Rarity swiftly ran up the stairs and caught hold of Twilight's hoof. "It seems we have a little problem with the rooms. There is a little colt downstairs who says this is his."

Twilight grunted with annoyance but still trotted down the stairs to see what had happened. When she joined them, Night Shine and Rainbow were in a full-fledged argument. "HEY, can we please calm down. Let the kid in or something."

"Finally!" Screamed Night Shine, Pushing the cyan Pegasus aside. He sat down on the one of the dining chairs. "Now if you would care to explain!"

Pinkie pie was the first to sit down. "In Pinkamena Diane Pie the element of laughter!" Explained the excited pony, "Rarity is over there with Fluttershy, they are the elements of Generosity and Kindness. Applejack is honesty. The pegasus flying above you is Rainbow Dash, the element of loyalty."

"The one and only!" Dash interupted.

Pulling the alicorn next to her Pinkie ended, "last but certainly not least, this is our leader Princess Twilight Sparkle, her element is magic!" The colt froze for a moment.

"You mean the Twilight Sparkle?"

"Well duh!" Pinkie Pie responded.

Stepping away from his chair, Night Shine explained, "Well, I guess I can't throw a princess out on the street. You can stay. I'm Night Shine, by the way."

What's this kid’s deal? One minute he looks like he is about to kill me, the next he treats me like we've known each other for years "Um, if you wouldn't mind could we by any chance stay here? You see-"

"No. I never said they could stay. I guess you can stay but the others can't."  Shaking his head, Night trotted toward the staircase with a smug expression, "I expect those ponies out of here in about... twenty minutes. Otherwise let’s just say you'll be spending the night at the police station."

"Hey, we were invited here by the princess!" Bellowed Rainbow Dash in reply, "And this used to be Twilights room!"

"And I don't think going into a room you were given is illegal!" Added Rarity. "I'm not listening!" Said Night Shine just before slamming the door with his magic.

Fluttershy, who had been relatively quiet throughout this argument, flew up to the door and knocked furiously on it. When it was finally opened she said, "Listen here you... you bully! My friends and I were invited here by the princess of the Sun herself, who has higher authority in Equestria then you ever wish to have! Now it's either you let us stay here or let's just say princess Twilight will be saying a few things to Celestia!"

"Not much of a threat when I happen to be Princess Luna's apprentice! I'm actually on good terms with Celestia." He then closed the door in Fluttershy's face.

And with that the conversation was over and the mares accepted their defeat. Within ten minutes the other five had packed up their things and were about to leave. "Are ya sure that ya don't wanna come with us? That colt seems like one rotten Apple!" Asked Applejack.

"Really, I don't trust that kid but there is something about him. Something strange…" Twilight looked up to the door, just to make sure he wasn't listening, "if you meet me here in the morning I'll tell you if I find anything out."

After the others had left, Discord made himself visible. "What do you mean you don't trust him?"

"I just don't. I feel like he's working against me!"

"You as Twilight, or you as Kira?"

"Both?" Said a confused Twilight, "I've just got to figure out how though." And I don't think he's just going to tell me like that.

After having a quick snack, Twilight decided to go talk to the colt upstairs. While trying to force her biggest smile, the princess pushed open the door and greeted, "Hey there, buddy!"

Night shine sat in the center of the room playing with some toys. He looked up for a split second but kept playing. Annoyed, Twilight seated herself next to him, "You're mood changes pretty quickly, huh?"

"I guess so..." he said as if not interested in the slightest. Levitating one of the figures he explained, "This is Dr. Hooves and that's Rose. They’re trying to solve something..."

"Interesting." Silence swept over them for a few minutes, the only sounds were the figures against the wood floor. Twilight sighed and went back down.

"He sort of reminds me of you, Twilight or many that Maud character." Remarked Discord.

"He is nothing like me!"

Simultaneously, Night got up and put his ear to the door and listened. There was a voice coming from the living room and it was not Twilight’s. Who are you talking to?
