Spike walked around Ponyville as the day began. He woke up early so he could get some chores done and maybe take a stroll. Spike was a tall dragon at 5’6; the same height as Big Mac, or taller if you count his spikes on his head. Not as tamed as Big Mac, but strong enough to carry three barrels of apple cider. Ever since his growth spurt, he’d been a good helper around Ponyville.

He went up a hill to see the sun rise as a new day began. Today was going to be very very interesting. After he saw the sun rise, he headed towards the market area hoping to see any of his friends who he knew would be awake at this time. Lucky for him, Applejack was at her apple stand selling her wares to ponies that were walking around at this time. Spike got in line like everypony else and waited until he was up front. When he reached the head of the line, he greeted Applejack with a claw to hoof shake.

"What may I get ya, Spike?" she asked him with a friendly smile.

"I would like to have three apple pies and one big juicy apple," he said to her while returning the smile.

"Seven bits please," she told him. Spike handed her the bits he owed her and she gave him the his purchase. He waved good bye to the apple themed mare and headed towards Sugarcube Corner.

As he made his way to the shop, he quickly ate the pies, but kept the big apple for later. When he reached the shop, he was greeted by a long line of ponies inside waiting for their orders. It looked packed from where he could see, so he turned around and headed towards the library.

"I'll come back later," he said to himself as he headed home.

On his way, he bumped into Dinky hooves, who fell backwards and landed on her butt. She rubbed her rump then looked up at whoever she bumped into. When she did, she noticed that it was Spike who bumped into her, who placed his claw out to help her up. She gladly took it and pulled herself up. After she got up, she brushed the dirt off herself then looked at the dragon with a happy expression.

"Good morning, Spike. How are you?" Dinky asked him with a warm smile.

"Same old same old. You?" he asked her in return.

"Same here. Want to hang out for a while?" she asked him while smiling.

"Sure." He smiled at the filly.

The two began to make small talk about the last couple of days. They both laughed at each other's weird encounters with their friends.

"Wait wait wait, you’re telling me that Twilight turned one of her books into a living being?" Dinky questioned him while trying to hold back a laugh.

"Yeah, it seems to have a weird interest in cooking even though it was a cook book. It took us a few days to stop it from cooking the whole house. I really hope Twilight doesn't try that again," Spike said, laughing at the memory of Twilight’s face when it came to life and when it got the urge to cook everything.

"Well I do hope she did. I wouldn't like to see your home look like a big pancake, but it would be nice to see the SCC made out of real candy," she said, thinking how funny it would be to see Pinkie eat the sweets store.

“Why would she need to bring a cook book alive anyways?” Dinky asked him.

“Well since I can’t be in the library helping her all the time she thought of cooking for herself for a change but every time she tries to cook something other than cereal, it would catch on fire. So she went through the spell book after spell book looking for a spell that can just make food and the closest spell was ‘being to life’ spell.” Spike said to Dinky while shaking head.

“Does she ever think things through when trying out a new spell.” Dinky said almost thinking Twilight may not be as smart as she say she is.

"Well she’s doing another spell today, and I didn't want to get in that issue with whatever it is." Spike said while shaking his head.

"I hope she knows what she doing." she said to Spike.

"It’s Twilight we're talking about," Spike said to her, to which she responded with a look that just said, ‘Really?’

Nothing could possibly go wrong… right?

(Twilight's POV)

Twilight began to set up some samples for her experiment of the day. She was testing transformation spells, so she set up some items to use as targets. Before she started, she made herself some cereal and toast- well okay, just some cereal- then read the spell. After a while for reading. She began to charge her horn with magic and then aimed it at a flower pot she placed on the table. When she aimed her horn, she thought of what to turn it into, and a blast of arcane power was sent towards the pot. Then in a bright flash of light in which Twilight had to cover her eyes, all that was left standing on the table was... a butterfly. Happy with her success, she then thought of a bigger item to transform. After getting a large boulder she made to try out the spell one more time. However, right when she was about to do the spell again, somepony knocked on her door. Twilight went to see who it was, and when she opened the door, she was greeted by her pegasus friend, Fluttershy.

"Hey Twilight, um… I was wondering if Spike was here. I need help with a few things," she said in her usual quiet voice, but still able to be heard.

"Spike's not in right now, but if you want you could wait here for him," Twilight told her shy friend. Fluttershy nodded and walked in, seeing the large boulder upon entering the room.

"Oh? What’s this for?" Fluttershy asked her. Twilight explained what she was doing, though Fluttershy could only look on with slight confusion, nodding every so often to give the appearance that she actually understood.

"So I thought of turning a boulder into the shape of a dragon. doesn’t that sound great!!?" Twilight said excitedly to Fluttershy.

Fluttershy looked at the rock and thought about it. The thought of it looking like a dragon scared her, but not as much as the real thing. Twilight prepared the spell and aimed her horn at the large rock while Fluttershy stayed right behind her on the couch. When Twilight was in the middle of casting the spell, a butterfly landed on the rock, not moving out of the way. Fluttershy gasped and, as fast as Rainbow Dash, she flew to it and light brushed it away. Happy with that fact, she turned around to face Twilight, whose eyes were closed shut in concentration.

Everything went by in a blur. First came the blast, then Fluttershy screamed but nothing came out, and lastly she was hit and thrown back, breaking the boulder she impacted. It broke into many pieces as it shattered from the impact, small bits of debris falling from the pile here and there. Twilight opened her eyes and noticed the rubble.

"Maybe I used too much magic," Twilight said while sheepishly rubbing her head. She then looked around and noticed that Fluttershy wasn't in the room.

"Fluttershy? Where are you?" Twilight yelled while looking around the room. After she said that, there was a groaning noise coming from the rubble. Twilight raced over to the pile of rocks and levitated the rocks off her shy friend. When she moved the rocks off her friend, she found a large, scaly butter yellow dragon. Twilight gasped upon seeing the dragon.

"Oh, that felt less painful than I thought," the female dragon said, getting up and rubbing her head. Twilight looked at the dragon before she managed to recognize the voice.

“F-Fluttershy? Is that you?" Twilight asked the yellow dragon. The dragon got up to full height then looked around for where the voice came from; she also had a confused look upon her face.

"Down here," Twilight said to her now dragon friend. The dragon looked down and with a shocked expression, she bent down to eye level.

"Twilight, what happened? Did your spell make me big? Or did it turn me into a big creature?" Fluttershy asked, not noticing the shocked and slightly scared look on Twilight' face.

"Well… yes, it did turn you into a big creature, but..." Twilight didn't finish her sentence.

"But what?" Fluttershy asked, a little scared of the answer.

"You… turned into a… Dragon," Twilight finished as she stood there, waiting for her friend to respond.

After a few seconds, Fluttershy let out a loud roar, which made Twilight cover her ears. The windows broke from the sheer decibels, letting the raw scream echo all around Ponyville.

(Spike's POV)

Spike and Dinky were eating lunch with each other, having a good chat until the sound of a dragon's roar caused all the ponies in the street to cover their ears while some of the glass windows from the building near the library shattered into pieces. Spike began to race to the library to check on Twilight. When he got there, he opened the door and was greeted by a large dragon screaming with an unconscious Twilight on the floor.

"What the..." Spike said, shocked at seeing the dragon.

Her head spikes were pink and ran down her neck to her back, while the tip of her tail was a pink heart shape. Her butter yellow scaled body glowed in the morning light, making her beauty seem alive, while her underbelly was the same shade of pink as her spines. Spike looked at her back and noticed wings on them; they seemed to be giving her a cute look. Spike then looked down to her rear. It was big and plump, and it also seemed be soft if Spike could touch it.

Spike's mind began to bring up some thoughts which, to his dismay, he didn't need at the time. After what felt like hours, the dragon finally calmed down and reopened her eyes which were shut from her screaming. When she did, Spike was awed by her greenish blue colored eyes which made him think she looked like a goddess. The dragon in question looked down at Spike, gasping at first before hiding herself within her wings. Spike took a moment before speaking.

"W-who are you, miss?" she said in a calm and caring tone. The dragon opened her wings a little and spoke, but what she said was too low to be heard.

"Can you say that little louder, please?" he asked softly. The dragon looked at him through her wings, then she opened them wider so he could hear her.

"Spike… It's me… Fluttershy," she said, blushing while giving him a smile showing off her sharp teeth.

"F-Fluttershy? What happened to you?" Spike asked her in disbelief. Fluttershy was about to answer when the front door opened, and standing in the doorway were four ponies.

"Twilight, what was that loud noise? Did Spike become all big again?" the winged cyan pony questioned. Spike gave her an angry look.

"I'm right here, Rainbow Dash," Spike said to her.

"Wait, you didn't make that noise?" the white unicorn asked.

"No," he replied.

"It was me," Fluttershy said, gaining the attention of the four, who gasped upon seeing the large yellow dragon.

Without warning, Dash and Applejack rushed towards her. Fluttershy stood there with a scared look on her face.

"This isn't going to be good," Spike said, unable to stop the two ponies.
