A Tale Of Two Moons

All I had wanted was a more interesting life. But I had never expected this...

It was late at night, September 14, 1006, and I was cautiously trotting my way home, as I lived in the bad parts of Astora. When I made it home, I sighed with relief and unlocked the door. I had left the lights on but now they were off. THe power must have gone out. What did it matter, though? I always favored the dark. Night time was always my favorite. So beautiful... Just like the mare who created it...

I had always had a crush on Princess Luna. Strangely enough, everypony else preferred Princess Celestia. I was the only one who loved Luna. The only one I knew of at least. I staggered and collapsed onto the couch, as I was exhausted. Then suddenly, my horn began to glow with its unique silver aura. It dragged me off the couch and straight back out the door. Everypony knew that Unicorn magic always had a reason for acting out, but I couldn't figure out what was going on eith my magic. I then realized that my magic was taking me to the Astora Castle. It dragged me to the front gates to the two guards who were guarding it.

Alarmed, they pointed thier spears at me and said, "What's your buisness here, citizen?"

In response, all I could say was, "Uuuhhhmmm..." Still confused about what had just happened, I looked around before the guards asked me again.

"What's your buisness here, citizen?" Without warning, or intentionally wanting to, I cast a sleep spell, knocking out the guards instantaneously. My horn dragged me through the gate and into the castle.

It stopped me at the throne room doors, where I could hear the voices of Princesses Celestia and Luna.

"All the citizens of Equestria, basking in your precoius sunlight. While they fear my beautiful night. It disgusts me!" Luna exclaimed. "But no more. Now, I shall give them a reason to fear the dark! I shall create, the Eternal Night!"

Luna blasted a gaping hole in the ceiling, letting in the light of the full moon. Shadows crept in and shrouded Luna, but as it did so, I could see fear in her eyes. She was afraid that what she was doing would fail, and that Celestia would punish her severely. at that moment, my aura fused with the shadows, and completed her transformation. As the shadows unraveled, her voice echoed along with a demonic one.

"I am no longer the sister you knew as 'Princess Luna'. From now on, I am known as... NIGHTMARE MOON!" The shadows blasted away, revealing the terrifying Nightmare Moon.

"Sitser, no! Please, don't do this," Celestia pleaded. "I don't want to hurt you!"

"It is too late, Celestia," Luna screeched. "Now, DIE!" An explosion of dark aura was blasted from Luna's horn. Celestia barely managed to dodge the blast, and countered with her own magic. Luna dodged similarly, and the epic battle had truly begun. Waiting, terrifyed of what would become of the two princesses, I anxiously ran out after about 20 minutes of waiting.

As I looked up, I saw Celestia using the fabled Elements Of Harmony. "I'm sorry, sister... But it's over..." Tears streaked down Celestia's face, as she banished Luna to the moon. The blast had such an impact, that t collapsed the entire kingdom. I was unable to escape before being encased in the stone remains of the castle. But just before death, the dragonic heritage, unknown to me, put me into Stasis, for 1,000 years...
