Ponyville Hospital: Room 8

Rarity leveled her stiletto at Chrysalis "You . . . .monster. . .What are you doing back? I thought Shining's barrier killed you and your kind!"

Chrysalis, despite being in disguise, bared her fangs "Can a changeling not check up on her step-brother without being accosted by a self-righteous pony? I thought your society was built on 'Friendship' and 'Acceptance', not threatening concerned siblings!" Chrysalis reached under one of her wings and drew a mace.

"You kidnapped Princess Cadence, almost stole Twilight's older brother away, and tried to take over Canterlot, ruining the wedding day! But worst of all. . .You insulted my dressmaking and hurt my friends! I'm not forgiving you, you're either turning yourself in to the guard, or. . . .I-I'll exact p-personal j-justice on y-you!"

"Your name is Rarity, right?"

"Why in tarterus are you asking me my name?"

"Because, Rarity, you're not a killer. . . .You've never hurt a soul in your lifetime have you?"

"What does it matter?"

Chrysalis narrowed her gaze at Rarity "You've never had anypony you love killed right in front of you, have you?"

"I see no reason to answer th-"

"Then you can't possibly understand what I went through. . . .Nor the real reason behind the Canterlot invasion. . .Nor do you know that it failed the moment I laid eyes upon Shinning Armor"

"What? What are you talking about?"

"I mentioned. . . .*sigh* in my little. . .villain song thing, that I dreamed of watching Canterlot burn since I was a nymph"

Rarity smirked "You said filly in the song"

Chrysalis's eyes suddenly turned red "INTERRUPT ME AGAIN, Rarity, SEE WHAT HAPPENS!" Rarity flinched, then Chrysalis continued "Anyhow, it was more than personal desire for conquest"

"Really? What more could motivate you?"

"Revenge, the slow, burning kind"

Rarity let out a nervous chuckle, Chrysalis obviously had a bit more depth than she let on "I never took you for the vengeful type"

"Well. . . .I was. . .It was over one thousand years ago. . .but I'm sure you don't want to hear it, little miss 'You're-unforgivable', as I'm a criminal with no way to redeem myself in your eyes" Chrysalis said with an air of smugness.

"F-fine I'll hear you out"

Sparrow's eyes dashed back and forth between the two mares. There was something just plain wrong about the pegasus, something he couldn't put his hoof on. He struggled against the restraints on his hospital bed, in a vain attempt to maybe escape or protect Rarity. He attempted to undo the restraints with magic, only to find that he couldn't. "R-Rarity! I'm s-stuck!"

"Don't try to move Sparrow, I'm perfectly capable of handling this situation myself"

Chrysalis refrained from laughing "What situation? You just asked for my life story, now then, where were we?"

"We hadn't started yet"

"Oh? Well. . .I'll make it short. One thousand and two years ago, a magus went looking for her missing master, along the way, she gathered a changeling and an earthpony to help her along the way."

Rarity tilted her head "Magus?"

"Changeling for spellcaster"

"Oh. . ."

"Back to the topic, at one point, the party comes across a cave. They trespass in it and find a changeling hive. The changelings attack in self defense and are slaughtered, but not without capturing the earthpony. The adventurers inquire further to find said earthpony in a cocoon and a changeling queen, the queen requests they leave, but states that they must leave the earthpony to pay for their crimes. The magus agrees and backs down. Only to snap the innocent queen's neck like a twig using magic. . ." Chrysalis paused for dramatic effect "And that's the tale of how I got to see my mother killed right in front of me." Chrysalis said with a tone of disgust.

Rarity was appalled "That's HORRIBLE, what kind of pony would do such a thing?"

"A pony named Midnight Shine. I tried back-tracing her energy signature, but it led me to Canterlot. Her signature coated it"

They both suddenly heard the voice of somepony else "That's enough Chrysalis" The door opened, and a dingy-white mare wearing a black silk dress and a fairly over-sized hat walked through the door. "You've divulged enough Illegal information to this poor mare, let her be Chrysalis. Besides, you need to go home anyhow"

"B-but Starli-"

"Shush Chrysalis, I already took time off to come see my son in the hospital. I don't need you causing a stir. Now hold still" She placed a forehoof on Chrysalis's torso, then she was suddenly surrounded with blood-red magic and she disappeared in a flash of light.

Sparrow looked right at the mare, he knew her from some place. "Hey! Just who are you? And do I know you?"

The mare let out a slight chuckle, she seemed even more smug than Chrysalis "Me? I'm not going to give you my name, but I will let you in on what I am. . .Ahem. . ." her voice suddenly sounded as if two ponies of different voice tones were talking at once "I am what ponies love more than life, fear more than death or mortal strife, what dead ponies have and rich require, I'm what contented mortals desire." her voice then returned to normal "I'll let you figure that one out yourself" she said as she walked over to check on Nurse Redheart.

Sparrow looked over to Rarity "Uh. . .R-Rarity, what's going on?"

"I have no idea, Sparrow. As the element of generosity, I have seen some strange things, but not on that level"

Location Unkown

Lynchinus awoke on his crystalline throne, having fully recovered from the fight with Shinning Armor. He turned and kissed the locket his mother gave him as a child. It was a godsend that it could also act as a phylactery. He looked up at the map on a nearby wall; His spell had worked, he had managed to trace the aetherial disturbance to. . .Ponyville.

He smiled "Ah, Ponyville. . .I'll have to stop by. . .I hear the zap apples are to die for this time of year"
