Burial
It took us 2 days to get to the point where we could all walk. As soon as we could, I made a point to the team that we had to bury Green. The next time Twilight visited, we all made the point. I said we would need his rifle, helmet and dogtags(all of which I had) and a coffin. When I listed all the things we would need, she said she would ask her friends and get to work immediately. Because we had to improvise, we were going to do it as his rifle and helmet as a gravestone and his dogtags as the information normally on the gravestone. She arrived 4 hours later saying that it was scheduled for tomorrow. Apparently, according to the doctors, we should be good to go, though they let us rest the night in the room. When the next day came, she said that we would begin as soon as all the princess arrived.
We meet with Fluttershy and Konrad at the gravesite. I said, "Hello you must be Fluttershy. Well, uh thank you for taking care of Konrad." She gave me a timid smile and sent Komrad over. A few minutes later Celestia and Luna arrived. A few minutes after Princess Cadance, who is apparently Twilight's sister in law, arrived. I asked "Everyone here?". Twilight nodded her head and we began.
We lowered his coffin into the grave that had been dug earlier and moved into a line all saluting him. I covered the hole with dirt and moved back into line, Mason put Green's rifle over where the grave was and moved back into line, Jackson put his helmet on the rifle butt and moved back into line and finally, Anderson hooked his dogtags in the trigger guard and moved back into line.
I gave a word off warning to the ponies as we prepared the three volley salute. "Alright we're getting ready for the 3 volley salute. Now rifles ,when fired, are very loud. You may want to cover you're ears." Some took the warning, others didn't or maybe they just wanted a test. We couldn't do a traditional 3 volley salute, due to only 2 of us having an actual rifle and none of us having blanks. In a commanding tone, I ordered "Ready, Aim, FIRE!" BANG "FIRE" BANG "FIRE" BANG. We ended the ceremony by holding our weapons at our side and giving him one last salute. Suddenly Twilight asked, "Is that Lyra?". We all turned our heads to see the mint green unicorn watching us from behind a bush.
"Lyra are you sure we should be doing this?" asked Bon-Bon in a nervous voice. She had exactly been astatic when she found out Lyra was taking her to watch the humans bury their dead.
