Chapter 2;

Dreams

Before I myself went to the hospital, I grabbed Green's dogtags, and our gear. I searched my bag, found my phone, put in my earbuds and put shuffle on my absolute favorite playlist. Welcome to the Family by Avenge Sevenfold filled my ears as I ran as best I could to catch up while carrying who knows how many pounds of gear. They waited for me at the doors of the hospital and when I arrived, we went in. "Hello and welco- oh hello Princess..... um what is that you have there." said the receptionist. "Um yes hello, these are humans and they need help. Don't worry about the dog Fluttershy can take care of him." said Twilight. I introduced myself "Hello, I am Cpt. Simon Riley, that is Sgt. Paul Jackson," I pointed to Mason and Anderson and said, "and they are Lt. Mason and Sgt. Anderson." "Ok we will have to do some tests but, we will see what we can do." Twilight said "Thank you." She called some nurses and they took us to different rooms. Twilight and her friends took Konrad to see Fluttershy.

We took the dog, who Cpt. Riley referred to as Konrad, to Fluttershy's Hut. She greeted us as we arrived, "Oh hello girls, and who is this." noticing Konrad. I asked "You know that loud crash this morning?". She timidly nodded. "Well it was a helicopter, and there were six things onboard. 5 were the same thing, and this was the sixth. sigh However, one of them was killed in the crash." Her expression went from a timid little smile to a large frown. "Oh dear, and why didn't you bring the rest of those dears here?" she asked. I responded by saying, "Because as I said, they could talk, made it clearly obvious that they meant now harm, not like this fella right here." pointing to Konrad. "Ok, well I could keep him until he's healed." "Thank you Fluttershy."

The tests went like any test on Earth, only a little more thorough due to us being an entirely new species altogether. By the time it was over, Mason and Anderson were awake, and I had to explain them that we were in a land of colorful ponies and that Green was dead. We were treated as best the doctors could, which wasn't as good as it could've because Green was our combat medic. We were all left in the same room and the door was marked "Humans; Don't Disturb". Twilight visited and said we would meet Princess Celestia and the other Princess as soon as we were all ok. She also said don't be surprised if we see a dark blue alicorn in our dreams. Wonder what see meant by it.

I was on a landing craft nearing a beach. I at first didn't know where I was. Then I noticed what I was looking a, what I was holding, what I was wearing, what was in my holster. I realized that I was seeing what my grandfather was seeing on D-Day, when he stormed Omaha Beach. Someone yelled "15 seconds!". I braced myself for the worst beach of D-Day. Even though I knew my grandfather made it out. TV specials can only tell you so much. The door opened and the MG42's opened fire. I or rather my granddad jump over the side and into the water. My granddad was one tough son of a bitch. Before he drowned he took off his flak jacket and the bulky radio equipment. As he made it to the surface it went from the hellhole known as Omaha Beach, to the hellhole known as Dubai. More specifically it was The Gate. I was surrounded by the civilians that were killed by Delta. However there was one thing that was different. A dark blue alicorn. "Your mind is troubled soldier, you have seen many things that would make my and my sister's army vomit." "Yes, didn't think you would have an army. Now why are you here." "I am here to assess you. Now what exactly is this place." "This is Dubai. More specifically this is The Gate.
