The Truth

It has been 2 days since "it" happened, and still Applejack won't even talk. I understand how overprotective she was with her, but honestly, there was no protection from what happened. All it did for her friends was to leave them in odder shock. They couldn't except that their friend was dead. I looked at my heart beat locator and it read a reading of only 5 ponies, and me, alive. What I didn't understand was that Pinkie Pie's heartbeat was irregular.

"Hey Pinkie, is anything bothering you?" I asked trying to solve the puzzle. She looked at me and looked back down. We had arrived in the bunker base made by the marine guards, but we saw them dead. Some were hanging from ropes, most had been victims to facehuggers. I knew this wasn't I true sight for anyone.

"Say Martin, can I speak with you a minute?" Said Rainbow Dash. I walked over to her carefully expecting a scolding, but instead I got a calm voice. "I wanted to ask when you were going to admit what happened." She said looking at me.

I gave her a questioned look, "huh?"

"With Rarity. I know Sweetie wouldn't forgive you, but it's better than lying. You said yourself, we need honesty." She made some good points. I looked at Sweetie Belle, who was already upset over her sister and friend dying. I nodded in reply.

"But for now, it's secret." I said and she nodded. We went back over to the group, who were taking the safe approach and were stocking their weapons. I sighed in agony when I looked at Sweetie Belle, she was twirling a handgun on the floor.

I took a glance over at Applejack. She had her head down and removed her hat. She looked kind of cute without her hat, but that's not why I walked over to her. I knelt down to her and she looked at me with sad eyes.

"Hey, it's okay. We all have to say good bye eventually, but m sorry it had to be your sister." I said with a comforting smile. She sighed and put her hat on.

"Thank y'all for tryin'." She said looking back down. "It feels like somepony put a hole in mah chest." She looked over at the rest of the group. "Ah'm mighty grateful though. Ya've been watching over us like farmer with his cattle." She said with a smile. I patted her head and stood back up. My focus turned to Sweetie Bell. Rainbow was right, she needs to know. I walked over to Sweetie, but I hesitated. I didn't wanna get on anyone's bad side.

"She didn't just fall did she?" I heard a voice said below me. I looked down and saw Scootaloo. I told her to shush and knelt down to her.

"No, she fell because... well... I might have... shot her." I said with a hand on my arm. Scootaloo looked at me shocked and started to yell, but I covered her mouth before she could speak. "Quiet, Sweetie Belle doesn't know yet." I told her.

"W-w-well you gotta tell her!" She whispered. I did need to tell her, but I didn't know how.

"I don't know how to. I'm afraid she will do something stupid like leave the group our aim a gun at me." I looked at Sweetie.

"Why did you shoot her?!" She said in a whisper.

"I got startled when I heard Twilight scream, so I turned around and fired at random. I ended up hitting Rarity." I said with a sad expression.

"Oh, but you NEED to tell her." She said putting a hoof on my chest. She was trying to be intimidating just like when I was was young. I had always thought in situations like this, I would be fearless and feared by others, I guess that's was taken by Rainbow Dash.

"I will, just give me a few." I told her and she walked off with a frown. I sighed and stood up. Pinkie still wouldn't speak so I couldn't find what was wrong with her. Applejack just told me her feelings about me, and Rainbow gave me some points on why I should tell her. I looked st Sweetie Belle, I had to tell her.

"Sweetie, can I talk to you about something?" She nodded and stood up. She followed me around the corner and looked at me cautiously. "We need to talk about your late sister." I could tell she froze when I said "late" and shivered.

"What is there to talk about?" She said in a soft, but sad tone.

"Well, she didn't fall down the shoot by herself." She looked up at me when I said that.

"And?"

"I might've... accidentally... shot her into it." I said with my eyes shut and fists clenched. I was expecting crying or a gunshot, but instead, she... hugged me. I looked down at the sad and happy filly.

"Thanks for being honest, Martin." She said snuggling me. I didn't question it so that she wouldn't have second thoughts and I sighed with relief. Then I realized something, these ponies have been calling me Martin and not Mark. I didn't care, I was happy I got that off my chest. Then I remembered Apple Bloom and thought I shouldn't have made that joke.

We walked back and saw everybody cowering in a corner. "What's wrong?" I questioned them and they startled when they heard me.

"W-we heard an alien somewhere over there!" Scootaloo said pointing behind me. As I turned around I was blinded when the lights were turned off and the back-up light lite the room. Everyone gasped and I felt Sweetie Belle grasp my leg. I heard a beeping in my pocket and pulled out the motion tracker. There was movement, everywhere.

It was surrounding us, from all sides, but we couldn't see. Everyone, even me, heard something rattling. We all looked up, and there they were.
