The bright sun awoke me from my sleep. I look up and felt something heavy on my lap. I look down and smile as I find who I think is Scootaloo. I pet her mane and she awoke, which gave me a warm feeling.

"Good morning, how did you sleep?" I asked her. "But why are you sleeping on my lap?"

She seemed a bit groggy but I could make out her sentence. "I felt scared lying on the ground, and I kinda took a liking to you. So there is your answer." She said yawning and rubbing her eyes. I smile, but it fades as a thought came to my head. Did Pinkie Pie ever come back in? I stood up, putting Scootaloo down on the couch, she instantly fell asleep again. I walked up to the door and looked outside. Pinkie Pie was standing in the same spot, watching the sun raise. I suddenly realized that since there was a sun and a moon, that meant the princesses were alive somewhere. I started to worry about Pinkie, but I shook it off, and walked back.

I looked back at the group and a sight caught my eye that made me go pale. Lying right next to Apple Bloom, was an eight legged creature. I remembered these things from LV-426, Burke had told me about them before he went missing. I took out my handgun and shot he creature four times, it eventually screamed and died. This woke the three kids and the sound of hooves running around upstairs was heard. Even the door bursting open and Pinkie running in had happened because of the gunfire. Apple Bloom winced and held her throat. I saw her sister run in and realized it was a bad sight.

"What happened!?" She shouted looking at the creature. She ran to her sister and held her as she started coughing.

I shook my head as I watched Apple Bloom. "Your sister is..." I started and Applejack looked up at me.

"What... what is she?"

"She... she's going to die..." I said in honest shock. All except Pinkie's, everyone's eyes widened looking at me.

"No she's not! My sister won't die!" She said comforting her as she coughed.

"Apple Bloom, does your throat hurt at all?" I asked hoping for a no, but instead she nodded and I felt myself break apart. "Then yes, she will die."

"NO SHE WON'T!" Shouted Applejack as Apple Bloom stopped coughing. "See? She's better already." I shook my head.

"She has a day to live." I said walking away and passing Pinkie on my way out the door. I walked down and leaned on the fence outside and I heard hooves trotting up behind me.

"What did this to her?" The voice was Pinkie's. "She's to young to die."

"That's what I thought." I said turning around. "To answer your question, it was a facehugger." I looked back out. "They are what caused the xenomorphs in the first place. They cling onto your neck and squeeze it until you start gasping for air. While your mouth is open, they put a tube down your throat and start lying eggs inside." As I said this I looked back to see Pinkie with her hoof on her throat. "If you think that's bad, wait until they hatch." I said and she gasped.

"This can't possibly happen to her, she's just a foal!"

"I know, trust me, I wish I could wake up and realize it's a dream, but it's not." I started back for the barn. "How did one get in anyway?" I said in anger as I walk back.

I walked into the barn and see everyone is surrounded a clearly scared Apple Bloom. "Come on, we need to go. If one of those can get in imagine what could." I said and they looked up at me. They all nodded, even Rainbow and Applejack, and gathered their things. When I saw Apple Bloom breathing fast I took Applejack on the way out.

"You know what's best for her right?" I asked her and she pulled away from me when she realized what I had said.

"No, she will not die! Even if she were ah couldn't do that to her." She said and saw the look on my face. I grunting was coming from outside and we all looked to see Apple Bloom looking as if she were fighting pain. She looked at me again with a sad expression and put her hoof out. I gave what she needed for the job, a handgun.

We walked outside and Applejack approached her sister. Tears weld up in my eyes when in the most innocent voice, she told Apple Bloom, "Lets go for a walk sugarcube, before we leave?" Her sister nodded and the trotted off into the orchard together.

It seemed like a few minutes of waiting before we heard it. A distant gun shot rung though the trees. We all held our heads in sadness as we knew what had happened. Apple Bloom was put out of her misery. I stood up and walked into the orchard, looking around for the two. I came across a sight I would never forget, a sight I couldn't get out of my head for years to come. Apple Bloom was leaned against a tree with a hole in her chest. Her eyes were closed and a dead baby alien hung out her chest. About 5 feet away was her terrified sister, she stared at her sister with tears in her eyes.

I walked up and embraced her. "Its okay, it's okay. At least you know she can't be scared anymore." This made her cry into my shoulder. I never thought someone like Applejack would be crying, she was always so brave and on top of everything.

We started walking back, but as I did, I couldn't help but look back at the dead corpse of Apple Bloom. Rest in piece Apple Bloom I thought before tearing up again.
