Chapters I was trotting around my bed that stood in the middle of my room on the top of canterlot castle. Worry was occupying my thoughts as I gazed at the shining marble ceiling, filled with twirling golden patterns, swirling down the walls and down to the floor, where it flowed into six stripes, uniting in the middle shaped as a star. My cutie mark. I levitated the bed back into the corner where it stood before I threw it in frustration. I took a deep sigh and stared at the floor when an eerie voice whispered in my brain. So, heard from your friends lately? Or have they forgotten about you? I can't see any signs that they have been paying attention to you these last three months.
"Shut up. They're just busy, that's all. It's been a lot of changes for all of us now."
I see. But still, wouldn't you think that they would have taken the time to write a letter if you now are so good friends you're telling me, hmm? I had to admit, the voice was right on that. I haven't got a single letter since they all moved. Everything had been happening so fast! It felt like my alicorn-for-a-whole-year party was yesterday. Although, it was three whole moths ago. Time flies, apparently it makes a sonic rainboom when you're alone. But not lonely. I still had Celestia,Luna and Cadance to talk to. And Spike, of course. But he had been growing away from me ever since he grew wings, and was classified a real dragon. I suspect that he hangs with dragons of his own age in the volcano on the east side of the Griffon kingdom. The eerie voice chuckled lightly and spoke up again. You're not sure, right? Sure if they want to see you again. Sure if you still are friends.
"Argh, stop! Just, who are you!?"
You haven't figured it out yet? And I thought you were smart. But, if you really wanna know, I am you. I am the dark side of your thoughts, the contradiction in everything you say. But I'm not evil. I'm honestly just trying to help you. I just chose a voice you would listen to. But the role play is over. Here's my advice. If you really wanna know why they aren't contacting you, take the first step yourself. They'll hang on. They always do. You're the leader, the leader begins. Now why don't you think on that one for a while.
The voice was slowly fading away from my head leaving it quiet so I could think. But I didn't have to think. I already knew what to do. I quickly grabbed a quill and a piece of parchment that I could write on. I sat down in a chair at my working desk and lit a candle. The small light was all I needed, it was small, yet strong enough to make me see the parchment clearly. It felt warm and welcoming as I levitated my quill and began to write.
Dear Rarity,
I am afraid I haven't been hearing anything from you lately. I am just wondering why it has come to this and if you maybe was free on Saturday noon, when I was planning on having a little get-together with our friends. I feel that we have all been drifting apart and I don't want this to be the end of our friendship. I hope to see you soon, and you'll have to tell me everything.
- Twilight Sparkle
I stared at the letter for a while, wondering if it would be enough. The letter was short, yet informative. I lit my horn once again and took four other parchments out om my drawer. I used a simple copying spell on them and then all I had to do was change the name and address. I rolled the five scrolls and tied each of them with my personal seal. Holding the five scrolls with my magic I walked out the door and turned to the guard on my right side.
"Could you deliver these scrolls immediately please? Address is written on them," I said. The pegasus guard nodded ang galloped out of the castle. I gave the other guard a friendly nod before I walked back in, and I am sure he returned it. Well in my room, I gave out a loud yawn, realizing how tired I was. I gave a quick glance to the clock. Two in the morning!? I gave another yawn and walked up to my bed, climbed in, and cuddled myself into the soft blanket. Tomorrow, I'll take the airway to Ponyville and have the best day ever. With my friends.
***
I walked down the long circular stairs from my room down to the main hall of the castle, where I called for an escort to Ponyville, although no one answered. The guard that stood beside the door at the entrance spoke up.
"Princess Celestia have us working half shift and the royal escorts have gotten vacation today, your highness." I facehoofed myself as I remembered; it was the national day of harmony today! The day when everypony got vacation except for the jobs that always needed some workers.
"Thank you for reminding me. Please accept these bits; I insist." I levitated sixteen bits from my saddlebag and into the guards pocket as a sign of gratefulness. He had just saved me precious time that I could have vasted on trying to find a way to get to Ponyville. I gave him a gentle smile and exited the castle. Guess I'll have to fly to Ponyville instead. I unfolded my wings and took of. I was a little unsteady when I flew too fast, and that was what I would have to do to get to Ponyville in time to make the preparations. As I flew, I was thinking about how I would have to change a little in my plan, since most of the stores was closed today. After half an hour I spotted Ponyville. I quickly soared down to the centre of the town, where I was greeted by the mayor.
"Ah! Princess Twilight! I thought I saw you flying over Ponyville,"she said happily, quickly walking over to me with a smile on her lips.
"Hello mayor! You wouldn't know if the Sugarcube corner is open today, would you?" I asked. Knowing if it was open or not would save me a lot of time. The mayor tapped her chin, and then shook her head.
"I'm afraid not, but I think I saw the Cakes at Carrot Top's house earlier. I'm sure they'll make you something if it's an emergency. Anyways, I gotta get going," the mayor said. She nodded her head and we parted ways. I walked trough Ponyville to Carrot Top's house. While walking, I breathed in the fresh air over this town. It certainly felt more oxygen rich than the air in Canterlot, where the ponies lived penetrated block after block, sharing their space with countless stores and event buildings. It wasn't hard to figure that it was the most populated city in Equestria, although Manehattan was not far after. It was a sight for sore eyes now that I finally had arrived in Ponyville, this peaceful town where everypony was cleverly scattered all over the town, leaving more than enough space for additional buildings and stores. In what seemed like seconds, I stood outside the garden with the little house where Carrot Top lived. I walked down the sand path and knocked at the door. Carrot Top opened the door with a smile and suddenly realized who was standing at her doorstep.
"Oh my! Princess Twilight!"she said frantically and quickly got down to bow. I held out a hoof and said;
"There's no need for formalities. I'm just here for a friendly visit. Now, I believe that you talked with mr and mrs Cake earlier, and I wonder if you know where they went?"
"Yes. They asked if I could foalsit Pound and Pumpkin tomorrow. Those sweeties just can't sit still," Carrot said with a smile."I think they went to mr Breeze's store. If not, they should be back in Sugarcube corner by now."Carrot Top reached for a package and gave it to me."If you're going to his store, could you deliver this package to him? It's a late birthday gift, but I haven't had the time to deliver it. It's harvest season now, and I've been really busy."
"Of course! Well, I better get going. I have some planning to do."With that, I trotted off with the package in my mouth. In order to keep the day scheduled, I hurried. When I finally arrived i saw the Cakes talking to him.
"Mrs.Cake! Could you stay for a minute, I need to talk to you for a minute," I said. She stood in the corner while I greeted mr.Breeze and gave him the gift from Carrot Top. We then walked out of the small shop.
"So, dearie, what was it you wanted from me?" mrs.Cake asked with a smile.
"Oh, right. Well I wondered if you would be so nice and bake a cake for my little reunion with my friends. We've been so distant from eachother lately, so I thought it would be nice."
"Why of course! It would also give us a chance to see Pinkie again. That mare is almost as a daughter to me and Carrot Cake."
"Exellent! Now I'm just gonna find a nice place to have it and a blanket. And maybe some punch,"my dry throat cheered for the Thought of punch and I smiled. Saying goodbye to mrs. cake, i then trotted off in the direction of the library. since is had been destroyed, I made the castle to a public library, then i let build another treehouse replacing the older one, where i kept the last copies of the ancient books. It hadn't been used in a time, so most of the covers were dusty. I went up to my old room, now without a bed. If I recall correctly, the blanket is in the drawer to my left. walking over to the drawer, I open it and, it's empty. Turning the house upside down, I finally found everything. On my way to the picnic spot I picked up the cake. And I had just set the blanket down when I saw a bouncy pink dot coming towards me.
In an apartment at the outskirts of Manehattan, two cheerful ponies and a toothless alligator was sitting at a table with numerous plates with tasty looking dishes on them. The ponies was laughing and staring happily into each-others eyes.
"...And then I said; oatmeal? Are you crazy!?" The pink pony bursted out in a laughing fit, rolling on the floor while the alligator held on for his life in the mane of the mare.
"Hahaha! Oh, Pinkie. That one never gets old," the stallion said. He wiped a tear out of his eye and watched the pink mare crawling up on her chair again. She proceeded to sip on the tomato soup, and sighed in delight when the tastes flooded her mouth.
"Mmm, Cheese this is amazing! I didn't know you cooked so well!" Pinkie said, proceeding to heave the soup down into her mouth.
"Thanks Pinkie. I'm glad you enjoy it. After all, this is our anniversary." Pinkie and Cheese continued to talk and laugh, but was suddenly interrupted by a loud knock on the door.
"I'll get it!"Pinkie said, bouncing down to the hall and opened the door. She was greeted with a grey coated guard.
"Are you miss Pinkamena?" He said, causing Pinkie to wave dismissive with her hoof.
"That's me! But please, just call me Pinkie."
"Miss Pinkie, Princess Twilight sent you a letter." He handed over the letter and saluted. Pinkie waved him off and then returned to Cheese who sat with a confused look and an alligator sucking his ear.
"What was that about?"he asked.
"I don't know more than it is from Twilight. Oh, it feels like I haven't seen her in months!"
"But you haven't seen her in months." Pinkie gasped at the realization, and quickly proceeded to rip the envelope open.
"You're right! How could I have forgotten about them! They're like, my bestest friend in the whole world! Ohohoh! I bet Twilight has planned some super neat reunion with cake and punch and friend talk!"
"There's only one way to find out!" Cheese said, waiting patiently for Pinkie to read the letter that was inside the envelope. After a moment of Pinkie muttering under her breath, she lit up like a candle.
"I was right! And it's today! But, that means I'll have to leave you on our couple for a year anniversary."she said, her hair deflating a little. Seeing how distraught Pinkie was at the situation, Cheese couldn't do any other than letting her love go.
"Aww, it's alright sugar. You go have fun with your friends, I won't be mad."
"R-really?"
"If it makes you happy, then I'm happy." Cheese didn't know how, he just got sealed in a bone crushing hug.
"Cheese you're the bestest! I'll never judge you again! And when I come home, we'll have a party you'll never forget!" Happy tears streamed down Pinkies face, and after a while she broke the hug."I'll have to go now, don't wanna miss the train. I love you, Cheese." Pinkie gave him a quick peck on the cheek and then trotted out from the apartment.
"And I love you to." Cheese had walked beside Pinkie and smiled. Pinkie smiled back, walking backwards out of the door and closed it. She let out a happy sigh.
It was a short walk to the train station, all she had to do was buy a ticket and wait. While sitting on a bench at the train station, Pinkie gazed out into the crowd of ponies walking or trotting past her. Some of them smiled at Pinkie, some others waved, but the majority just ignored the pink stranger. She had been able to make some friends here, but not as many as in Ponyville. Suddenly, a song popped up in her head. A familiar tune, cheerful and bright. A song she sang in Ponyville, describing how happy she was to see smiles of her friends. She started to sing it. First a little quiet, then out loud, and finally she began walking trough the crowd singing. Some was giving her confused and disapproving glares, others just smiled. There were a few that walked behind her, singing the song like they already knew it. Pinkie started bouncing her way towards he train, and the conductor had dropped his pocket watch, staring surprised out in the large crowd of ponies with Pinkie in top, singing and bouncing their way towards him. They came to a stop at the entrance of the train, where Pinkie stepped aboard and waved to all the ponies in Manehattan that was her friends. But honestly, they couldn't replace the special bond she shared with the other five element bearers. Soon, the train started to move, drifting further away from the station. There were few ponies in her coupe, two of whom were sleeping, the others was occupied in their jobs or entertainments. Sadly, it didn't look like she would get company on the train today. Instead, she looked out the window, seeing Manehattan disappear, leaving Gummy, Cheese and a fun and bustling city behind her. She turned her gaze forward, looking out in a beautiful landscape, full with flowers in bustling colors, trees and bushes that made a dazzling forest. Suddenly, the speakers cracked, and a deep tuned voice began to speak.
"We're calculated to arrive in Ponyville in ten minutes. Please gather up your belongings and make sure you're leaving nothing behind when we arrive. We hope you've had a nice ride with the Manehattan express. "
Pinkie grabbed her suitcase and walked to the doors of the trains. She looked out of the window at the door and saw the Ponyville train station getting closer. Eventually it came to a stop, and Pinkie jumped out through the doors. She saw many familiar faces, and earned a big amount of smiles and waves, even some 'Hi Pinkie!' or 'Pinkie! Long time no see!'. Pinkie wished she had four pairs of eyes and eight legs, so she would be able to greet all her old friends. But she focused at the main task at hoof. She had to figure out were Twilight was, 'cause she hadn't written an address. Hmm, if I was an unicorn who loved books and wanted to talk with her friends, where should I go? I know! The library! With a smile, Pinkie made her way to the library, confident in her decision. Soon she arrived, and pushed the door open.
"Hello? Twiiiliight! You in here?" Pinkie shouted, but to no avail. She sighed and wondered where she would search now, until her thoughts was interrupted by a missed voice.
"Pinkie! Dearie, I haven't seen you in forever! Are you searching for Twilight?" Pinkie turned around to stand face to face with her 'step mother'.
"Mrs. Cake! Hii! Oh, how are the twins doing? And do you know where Twilight is?"
"Me and my husband are doing great, so does the twins. But they've missed you, Pinkie Pie. Heavens, ever since you and Cheese started to date and plan parties together, it feels like you disappeared! And about Twilight, i think she went to the little park a the outskirts of Ponyville, the one with the pond, you know?"
"Oh, that one. Well, I don't wanna keep her waiting! But I pinkie promise to visit you really soon!" Pinkie gave Mrs. Cake a hug and bounced in the right direction to Twilight. After a little while, she spotted Twilight sitting on a blanket and bounced the way to her.
"TWILIGHT! It's been, like, FOREVER since we met!" Twilight turned her head around and smiled widly.
"I know, right!" She said standing up and gave Pinkie a big hug which she returned."I've missed you so much! We have a lot to catch up on." Twilight and Pinkie talked for a while, but soon they heard galloping and saw to taxis that a pegasus and a unicorn sat in.
A newly awoken unicorn cantered around lazily in a expensive-looking apartment in Fillydelphia. She levitated a cup of coffee that had just been brewed. A large side of the wall in the living room was occupied by pictures of her, a silver-coated unicorn stallion and a little filly. Rarity looked up on the pictures and smiled. She didn't hear a stallion walking up behind her, and only shown a sing of acknowledge when he tapped her on the shoulder.
"Rarity dear, why don't we take a little alone time on the sofa? Silver Mist is still sleeping." a smile crept upon Rarity's lips at the mentioning of their beautiful unicorn filly. She stood up and took her husbands offered hoof as they walked the three meters up to the sofa and laid down, holding eachother tightly. After half and hour of absolutely nothing, a loud knock on the door made the two ponies jump. Rarity's husband, Emerald Dust, actually got so startled that his horn broke trough the ceiling and he got stuck. Rarity didn't see him and thus walked to the door and saw the guard.
"Good morning, mister. I assume you have a good reason to knock loud enough to awake the whole building?"
"My apologies miss Rarity, but Princess Twilight wanted me to give this letter to you immediately." The guard handed over the letter, and Rarity grabbed it with her magic. The guard saluted and took off as Rarity closed the door. Almost immediately after that she heard that her daughter had been awoken, since a shrill voice called for her.
"Momma! Daddy's stuck in the ceiling again!"
"Coming, dearie!"she said and smiled as she walked back into the living room. And just as confirmed, the mint coated stallion was hanging from his horn in the ceiling. How was a question she'd like to get an answer for, but she just levitated him down to the floor as usual."Emerald, I must ask you to stop crashing into the ceiling all the time. It's the third time this week!" Rarity said when her husband was safely down on the floor again.
"Sorry, love. I'll fix that." Emerald gave Rarity a hug and fixed the small hole in the roof with his magic. Then Rarity remembered the letter and quickly unsealed it.
"Dear Rarity... Mmhm, oh dear...oh! Why, of course I'll be there! I wouldn't miss it for the world!" Rarity dropped the paper and ran to her room. Shortly after, a little filly stepped in.
"Momma, are you gonna leave? Just like that?"
"Darling, usually I tell you a long time before I go anywhere, but I received this invitation today, and I'll have to leave now to get there in time,"Rarity responded as she packed countless different clothes. "I hope I packed enough scarves... We'll probably not need that many earmuffs... I should probably take our gala dresses with me if we decide to have a fashion show..."
"Well, who is so terribly important that he or she can't possibly be ignored?!"
"...hm? Oh, it's just some friends of mine, Twilight, Rainbow, Applejack for example." Rarity told their names with old memories, nothing special, but her daughters eyes lit up at the mentioning of the three ponies.
"As in princess Twilight? And the Wonderbolt Rainbow Dash? And the famous Apple family Applejack? Really?"
"Yes, that would be correct," Rarity said. She was still facing away from Silver Mist, but the filly was now jumping in circles as Rarity had finished packing.
"Tell me more! Tell me more!" The young filly shrieked gleefully as she jumped beside her mother out in the hallway.
"I promise sweetheart, I will when I come back, but you have to wait."
"Okay momma!" Rarity smiled at her daughter and then called for her husband.
"Emerald, love! I'll be leaving for some days, be sure silver gets to school!" A confused stallion walked up in the hallway and got a jumping filly on his back. Rarity kissed him goodbye and then hastily made her way out of the apartment.
Out in the busy streets of Fillydelphia walked a beautiful unicorn. She seemed to be in a haste. With countless bags floating after her she frantically searched for a taxi. The mare trotted hastily in the streets and approached different lines of ponies waiting for taxis, pleading them to let her take one. She looked at a large clock. Now Rarity started to panic. First she took a deep breath and looked for an empty taxi. She found none. She started to panic again, frantically screaming.
"TAXI!!! " she waited a while to see if a taxi arrived, but there was none to see. Running again. Repeating the cycle.Oh, why didn't I sing a song about being generous and spontaneously fix a wheel on a taxi cab and the when I needed it the most the one I fixed the wheel for would come to my aid! she thought. After a while, Rarity became tired, and was about to give up.
"I'm never gonna make it in time now!" She whined, but stopped by the sound of an all too familiar voice.
"Umm, could you stop here for a minute, please?"Rarity turned around.
"Of course."now she recognized the pony in the cab.
"Fluttershy!?"Rarity said happily. The mare in the cab smiled and reached out her hoof.
"Need a lift?" She asked.
In a small shop at the outskirts of Fillydelphia, a pegasus flied around, happily singing while the birds around her chirped in tact. She had a basket full of seeds, which she gave to the many birds. After feeding all of them she landed again, only to be stopped in her tracks by a grumpy-looking bunny. Flutter shy smiled gently at him.
"Now Angel, I know you're hungry, but I always feed the birds first, right?"she said. Angel didn't seem pleased and jumped up and down. He even took a carrot out of nowhere and threw it on Fluttershy to show his displeasure. Fluttershy winced slightly on impact and turned around to face him. She was frowning, but that was enough to make Angel take a step back. "Angel, I'm very disappointed in you. You know my tactics when I feed you all, we've been over it multiple times. You can't just pretend to be more important then everyone else, do you understand me?"
Fluttershys expression softened when she saw the guilty bunnys face. She reached down and picked him up." Aaw, I just can't be mad at you. Come, we'll make breakfast."
However, Fluttershy was stopped in her tracks by a guard that stood by the front door. She squeaked and quickly hid behind a bush, frantically whispering to herself.
"Oh no, what can I have done!? Am I not allowed to have pets here? Are they gonna take them away, lock them up and send them away? Abuse them? K-kill them!? Will they lock me up? Throw me in a dungeon and abandon me in a forest? Who will take care of Angel?!" She was breathing rapidly and nearly fainted, but managed to keep herself together. "Okay, Fluttershy. You can do this. Just be calm and ask him nicely what is going on."
She walked up to the guard who stood motionless with a pale face. Fluttershy swallowed a lump in her throat and tapped his shoulder.
"U-um, excuse me, mister, but-"
"Are you Fluttershy?"
"Yes"
"I have a letter to you from princess Twilight."
"Okay, thanks."
"Have a nice day, miss."
Then he flew off, but he felt a little more weight on his tail for some reason. He looked black to see a bunny climbing on his tail up to his back. The bunny smiled, and then it bit him on the flank.
In the apartment, Fluttershy could hear a scream and a laugh, but shrugged it off as foals playing. She then unsealed the scroll she got and read it.
Oh my, I completely forgot about my friends! What will they think of me! What will Twilight think? I feel horrible. Well, the only way to find out is to join the picnic today. Now, where is Angel?
With Angel taken care of and everything packed, the shy mare wandered around in the busy streets of Manehattan, searching for a cab. She had been searching for about five minutes when she saw a long, long line of ponies waiting for a cab to arrive. It made her feel slightly panicked.
Oh no, I don't have the time to wait in that line. I have to find a cab, now!
She turned the other way and ran, scanning the area for anything you might travel with. Not being careful , she ran into a tall white unicorn talking to another unicorn.
"Oh, I'm so sorry, I was just searching for a cab to take me to Ponyville."
"Ponyville, you say? Such a coincidence. I happen to know a fashion designer in Ponyville. Might I ask you why you want to get to Ponyville, dear?"
Fluttershy looked up at the unicorn she ran in to and immediately recognized him.
"You're Fancy Pants, right? Well, I wanted to go to Ponyville, because me and my friends Applejack, Twilight, Pinkie, Rainbow Dash and Rarity are going to have a very important picnic."
"Fancy Pants is me, yes. And now that I think about it, you look astonishingly familiar. And this Twilight, would you refer to her as princess Twilight?"
"Yes."
"Well, now you're getting pretty interesting, my dear. Tell you what, I'll fix you a ride Ponyville, if you can tell Rarity to come over to my house anytime soon. Does that sound fair to you, dear?"
"Why yes, thank you very much."
Fancy pants turned around and spotted a cab. He whistled for it and the pony quickly zoomed over to them.
"May I help you?"
"Yes,can you take my friend here to Ponyville?"
"Sure."
Fluttershy climbed up and they took off. At first, it was just streets. Then Fluttershy spotted a familiar haircut. Reasonably long hair with an elegant curl at the tip of both the top and lower mane. And it belonged to an alabaster unicorn. Fluttershy turned her head down and gently tapped the driver pony on the back.
"Would you mind another passenger?"
He shook his head.
"Then could you please turn left to that mare with curly mane?"
He did so, and Fluttershy waited patiently. When they came closer, Fluttershy smiled and waved at Rarity, who returned the gesture. When they were beside her Fluttershy saw how relieved Rarity was to see her. She smiled and reached out her hoof.
"Need a lift?"
To this, Rarity laughed and took Fluttershy's hoof and pulled herself up in the cab. She tucked her bags in the back and they took off. After a minute of awkward silence Fluttersy spoke up.
"So, how did you end up there?"
"Oh, you have no idea!"
"I don't. Please tell me, sounds like you had quite an adventure."
They giggled and Rarity continued to tell Fluttershy about her desperate tries to get a cab. Time flew and soon they saw Ponyville. Fluttershy let out a delighted gasp.
"We're finally here! Oh, I'm so exited!"
"Me to, darling. I simply, cannot wait for us to get there."
Two minutes later, they saw two ponies sitting at the lake waving to them. They waved back and soon Rarity and Fluttershy stood in the dust of the cab and walked towards the other two.
"Fluttershy! Rarity! I'm so glad you could make it! Although, might I ask why you came in the same cab?" Twilight asked with a smile, while Pinkie sucked on a rock.
"It's a long story, we can tell you when the others get here. But we are so happy to see you again to!" Fluttershy responded, just as a large air ballon cast a shadow on them. From the ballon the was a muffled 'Yeehaw!' in southern accent.
"Look like we won't have to wait that long!" Pinkie said with minor difficulty, since her whole mouth was filled with rocks.
Author's Note
Maud.
In a barn in Appaloosa, three ponies slept soundly on top of eachother. And one slept beside them, probably the result of her rolling off. The one in the middle suddenly awoke by the sun that was tickling her eyes. She carefully wiggled her way out of the small pile of ponies resembling her family. She smiled and walked over to the little filly who had been sleeping on the floor and gently nudged her. The fillies eyes fluttered open and she smiled.
"Why are y'all wakin' me up for, sis?" Applebloom said while she rubbed her eyes and tried to get rid of the drowsiness.
"Well, we're all gonna have 'ta work soon, an' yer always grumpy when Ah wake ya up last minute." Applejack said to her little sister and then she walked over to a couple of frying pans, took a small metal stick and started to hit them. The sharp sound awoke Granny Smith who jumped of Big Mac and saluted.
"Section 34 ready to go, sir!"she hollered, then realizing she was in a barn with her grandchildren and blushed slightly. In the back she heard faint snicker from Applejack. "Just you laugh lil' filly, but when war dawns upon Equestria once again, Ah might be the lone survivor!"
Applejack smiled and walked over to her granny and hugged her. Then she opened the doors and proceeded to walk out in the orchard. She turned around and faced the barn.
"C'mon Apples! Time ta work!"
"Eeeyup"
Out in the orchard in Appaloosa worked a hundred or so ponies. They were needed for the huge farm. Or at least they thought so. Most of them just stepped on eachothers hooves. In the middle of the farm sat a group of old ponies and talked while they ate apple pie. One of them was Granny Smith. She stood in the middle of the ring of chairs and talked with gestures about the time she went in to war. All of the ponies snickered and the oblivious Granny thought they laughed in awe. They didn't.
Then, just as she finished her story a guard smashed down beside her. Granny jumped up and started to yell at him.
"Oh listen now junior, Ah've..."her words trailed off as she saw the stallion for real. Granny strainghtened her mane quickly and stood up tall. She decided to do something no one, not even Big Mac had seen her do before. she unknit her bun and let her hair lay straight over her neck and over part of her face. Granny swung it from side to side as she walked up to the guard, who started to become nervous. " Want some of this apple pie son? Ah was young once to ya know."
The guard let out a pathetic squeak as the other oldies and some of the closer workers stared. The guards face turned red, and it was now that Applejack decided to look up. Her eyes widened in horror.
Oh no.
Applejack walked calmly to the train station with her bags filled with apple pastries and a letter. It was an invitation to a picnic with her best friends. Although she was still a little shaky from the whole incident with Granny and the guard, and doubted she'd ever get it out of her head. Applejack shaked the thought out of her head and walked over to the train schedule, noticing that the train to Ponyville should have arrived. As on queue the rusty speakers sparked and a stallions voice echoed troughout the town.
"The train to Ponyville is cancelled due to mass hysteria at their staition."
Applejack wondered why there would be such hysteria at the station but the thought quickly perished as she focused on figuring out a way to get to Ponyville. She looked across the station after some kind of vechile. Then she spotted it. A worn out and ripped balloon. Perfect. She walked over to thye ballon and investigated it. a couple of places where she had to se it together, otherwise it was in good shape. So with the help of apple pastries and sudden music she began to repair the balloon. when she was done, the whole thing smelled like apples. Applejack got it in the air and went in the direction of Ponyville.
After a couple of hours with relatively calm air travel Applejack found herself in the outskirts of Ponyville. she glanced down at the train station, that in this moment was set on fire. Othervise Ponyville seemed calm.
she then saw the small hill that were her destination. Applejack smiled widely and began to descend. She could now see four ponies sitting with a blanket in the middle. Applejack let out a cry of happiness and signaled that she was there. the four ponies simultaneously looked up to see her. Not to destroy anything, she landed the balloon a bit away from the hill. When she jumped off, she saw all her friends come running at her. applejack got tackeled in a group hug and they all laughed. They walked up to the blanket again, where thousands of questions were fired at eachother. One of them was applejacks.
"Has any of y'all seen Rainbow?"
Twilight frowned. "No. I really hope she can make it, because it won't be the same withuot her. But we also have to respect that Rainbow Dash has achieved all of her dreames now and might be caught up in living them."
Applejack smiled reasurringly and said calmly to Twilight
"Don't ya worry none. She'd never leave us hanging, After all, she's the element of Loyalty. Ah'm sure-"
Applejack was cut off by an earchattering BOOM! The five of them looked up in the sky just in time to see a bright rainbow spread across the sky. Applejack smiled.
"Told ya."

I've FINALLY finished this chapter! Ugh! I hate my stupid computer, erasing all my work and making me start from scratch. Well, here it is, at last. Enjoy!
Rainbow Dash sat behind her office desk and signed some fanmail. She smiled at each letter, because in the majority of them the young fillies and colts claimed they would grow up to be just like her. Dash remembered that time she had seen her first wonderbolt show and the new captian, Spitfire, was making her first show. When she got home, Dash immediately grabbed a quill and paper, eager to express her exitment. She, Rainbow Danger Dash, would become the fastest mare in Equestria, and of course captain of the wonderbolts. Rainbow had been training since then, and it had payed off. She was now in the wonderbolt reserves, and steadily worked her way upwards. Fleetfoot had been sick the last shows, so Rainbow had to jump in, and delivered. After that, she became recognised, after all those years spent training. With newfound energy, Rainbow worked through the pile of letters until there were only three left. Her hooves ached and her eyes was strained, so she decided to take those last letters to the temporary house she had at ~~boot camp~~ The Wonderbolt academy. Rainbow was just about to leave when a knock came from the door. She sat back in her chair, surprised.
"Come in,"she said. A royal guard stepped in and leaved a letter on her desk, nodded and walked out. Rainbow sat dumbfounded and stared at the closed door. Eventually she shook her head to snap out of it and stared down at the letter, muttering. "Thanks, I guess."
Rainbow opened the letter and skimmed through it. When she came to the end a smile had spread from ear to ear. Quickly, she scribbled down a note for Spitfire.
Important buisness in Ponyville. Dragons, chocolate rain, friendship, yada yada. See ya on monday. Well, maybe atleast.

Having no time to lose, Rainbow Dash flew out the window. It was a very confused Spitfire who found a very weird note the next day.
Rainbow flew with determination over the plain fields on her way to Ponyville. She had much room to fly fast, only spotting one or another bird as she zoomed by. Eventually, the rooftops of several small houses could be seen. Eager to meet her friends, Rainbow Picked up her pace. Soon, a hill with five ponies on came in sight. Rainbow grinned, and nosedived, eventually forming a cone around her body.
Lets give them a show.
Twilight was almost on top on the world, almost all of her friends had made it to their meeting, now chatting happily with one another. But a growing tension was present, an unease that all of them knew the cause of. A certian rainbow maned pony was shining with her absence. But just as Twilight opened her mouth to voice her concerns, a loud bang came from her back, drawing everypony's attention. An exited cry could be heard as Rainbow Dash flew past them, leaving a rainbow in her wake. She made a turn and eventually made a graceful landing beside Twilight.
"Oh Rainbow Dash, just on time,"Rarity said teasingly.
"I'd like to call it 'fashionably late', Rares," Rainbow teased back, blowing a raspberry at her. Just as Rarity was gonna take it even further, Twilight broke in between them both and smiled happily at Rainbow Dash, pulling her in for a hug. One after one, the others joined in and eventually they had a long needed group hug. When they broke apart, each one had a huge grin, especially Pinkie, who couldn't have smiled wider even if she wanted to. Seriously. It was starting to get borderline creepy when Twilight stood up and broke the silence.
"This is what I've been wanting for a long time now. All of us together, just haning out like in the past. I'm so happy that you all found it important enough to take time out of the new lives we've all got to get back together again, to see the friends we are. I belive that, maybe with som effort, our friendship can grow even stronger. You have all shown today that not even the dreams we have can get in the way for our friendship. And, I want it to continue. So why don't we make this a thing? Every sunday from now on will be ours. Of course jobs and such can get in the way eventually, but you are all my friends and that way it doesn't matter, as long as it stays that way. I don't want to lose you guys."
All of the others sat in silence for a while, cracking smiles again. A simple laugh, a genuine hug, it was all the confirmation Twilight needed. It waould stay this way, and she was okay with that. For real this time.
