Dragon Tales
Chapter 4: Daughters Meet Daughter
Previous ChapterNext ChapterCelestia was in her room, packing a few things from her past into a small bag. Beside her was a small doll she had when she was little, and something about this whole thing brought a smile to her face. Her father's best friend had returned to Equestria, the new one anyways, but that didn't matter to the princess of the sun. Sivyer was a dragon, a powerful one at that, but he was kind. All he did was fallow her father's orders until she over heard what her father did to him.
She didn't like it, but then again, she hardly knew him. The stories of their wonderful battles for peace throughout Equestria and the world itself brought wonder in the mare's eyes. How much he'd worked before Celestia? She didn't fully understand. She has so many impossible questions that had possible answers, it made her dance in glee.
Her bedroom door opened, and a guard stepped in bowing to the princess.
"Princess Celestia, the chariot awaits for you."
"I'll be down in a moment, thank you for telling me."
"Shall I tell them you're on your way?"
"Go ahead. I'll be down once I've got my things in order."
"As you wish, princess." The guard bowed once more before leaving Celestia's bed chamber.
The princess looked down to Ponyville from her balcony and smiled. She hadn't seen him in a thousand years, and what knowledge he had for her was just a short distance away. An hour long flight yes, but still, a short distance. She rested the bag over her back, and began to walk down to the chariot.
Luna had already gotten her things in order as soon as she found out where he was. Then she saw her sister walk out the double doors to the garden where their ride awaited for them to mount. Celestia had a large grin on her face, but Luna kept her stern look.
"Cheer up Lulu, we get to see father's old friend. Aren't you excited?"
Luna nodded with a long frown. "I am sister, but...I don't think he speaks Equestrian anymore. He had a dream last night that scared me..."
Celestia tilted her head. "What do you mean?"
Luna shook her head. "Forget it, its nothing." She answered. "Lets go."
Celestia stepped onto her chariot. "To Ponyville please."
"Yes princess Celestia!" The pegasi said as they began their running start to lift off. She turned to Luna as they moved quickly up into the air. Something about her face, scared her, and she didn't even know what Luna was afraid of.
Sivyer opened his eyes as the new morning sun breached through the half open rudders of the barn. He felt bad about yelling at Frost to leave, and threatening Twilight. There are just somethings that should go unanswered, but Twilight was a princess. Just one word could send him to death row, or banish him to a darker place than his old home.
He tried standing on his back legs, trying to avoid walking on his left hand, and stepped out. His first time actually leaving the small barn to watch the sun rise. Then he smelt something cooking, and it smelt good. His head followed the sent until he was looking through the window to see Frost smiling at him.
"Good...morning...dad!" She smiled, handing him a apple pie. "This is...for you!"
Sivyer took it with a large smile on his face. "I...I sorry Frost...for...shouting."
Frost shrugged. "It okay...you...mad...space is...all...you needed. Toooo...calm down!" A smile grew on her face. "I made dat! With help...from...Apple Jack!"
"Granny Smith always said a good olde apple pie makes anypony, and in this case dragon, happy! So eat up Sivyer!"
Sivyer nodded, and threw the whole thing into his mouth in one bite. After carefully chewing his pie, he spat out the platter it was on unskaved. He rubbed his belly slowly and sat down near the window.
"See?! What'd I tell ya? A apple pie makes anypony happy!"
"Thank...you...Apple Jack." Sivyer frowned, and looked deep into Apple Jack's eyes. He saw a spark inside them. "I...talk to you....in barn...now...Apple Jack."
Apple Jack nodded, then walked from the kitchen. Sivyer began to stand on his back legs and walked back to the barn. He did have something to talk about, but he wanted to see what she was thinking. Something about that spark interested him, his old eyes still saw sparks.
He closed the door behind him, and stared at Apple Jack. He waited a moment before he walked to his hay bed, and rested himself on it. There was a dark silence before Apple Jack cleared her throat.
"So...what did ya want to talk about Sivyer?"
"I...thank you for...letting my...small...family...staying here..." He started. "How-ever...I...need...to...read...your mind."
Apple Jack tilted her head. "Now why's that? What's reading my mind going to do?"
"I...can learn...from minds...." He said. "I...can...learn Equestrian...faster...but...not all."
"How come you didn't tell me this before?" Apple Jack asked getting closer, taking off her stetson. "Go ahead!"
Softer hesitated. "You...sure?" He asked. "I need to...tell you...I...might see...more than....just words Apple Jack."
"Like, memories right?" The mare asked.
"Yes, but also...secrets...do you...understand?"
"You won't tell no pony would ya?"
"By my...soul...and my former...master," He bowed, placing his right hand over his chest. "I swear...I shall not...speak...of any...secrets...I find." Apple Jack nodded and got closer.
Sivyer placed his right hand over her head, and Apple Jack's eyes opened wide and became cloudy. Sivyer took a deep inhale, and then Apple Jack began to cry. Crying became screaming violently as she saw memories of her parents dying. It was a day unlike anyother, and they were raising a barn to show Big Mac and her how to. It was the same barn Sivyer slept in. Right as they finished with the last wall, one of the support beams snapped, crushing her mom into a bloody pool. Her father screamed running towards the dead body of his wife, when the next beam snapped, throwing a large wooden shrapnel into his head. He fell to the ground, and the memory shifted.
The next was her birthday, exactly five years after her parent's death. She'd let the past get behind her, and looked forward to this day so much infact, it was her sixteeth after all. She was walking down a long hall from her room, and peeked down to see if anypony was there. After waiting a few moments she quietly walked down the stares to the front door. Awaiting on the other side was a stallion with long black mane, and a dark brown coat.
"Come on in..." She whispered. "The gate is locked so we need to go out the back to get to the barn."
The stallion nodded and slowly walked behind her. They tiptoed out the back door, and ran as quickly as they could to the barn. She took a moment to catch her breath before opening the door. She walked in laughing with her face red from blushing.
"Are you sure you want to do this? You just turned sixteen AJ." He asked.
Apple Jack nodded, and pushed the stallion onto the ground. She smiled before locking her lips. She kissed him for a moment, and backed her head up. "I've been waitin' two years for this Tinker. To be honest, ah wish ah could tour's." She kissed him again. "You've been my best friend for years now...and...I want to repay ya. Tell me what you want." She got closed to his face. "Anything..."
Before anything happened Apple Jack was pulled away from her life, into Sivyer's. She saw him standing over a burning village next to two other dragons.

Sivyer pulled his hand away, and Apple Jack fell sideways to the ground. He felt tears run down his face, and he wiped it to look at his wet claw. He shook it away, and turned away from Apple Jack.
The mare had just came to, to see Sivyer crying softly. She looked at him, anger in her eyes that soon changed to pitty.
"You destroyed Equestria?" Apple Jack asked. "Why?"
Sivyer looked at Apple Jack as he wiped away more tears. "I was forced to. They had my heart in their hands." He said in near perfect Equestrian. A small slurring accent was clear as day. "If I refused, they'd crush me. I was what you called, "bullied" into doing it."
"So you didn't want to?"
"Of course not!" He said. "I had a friend, his name was Scorpan. He told me of a land called Equestria that had you wonderful ponies! Your magic kept the lands safe for ponies to live happy, and in peace. Also your magic helped nature of the world keep itself balanced."
Apple Jack sighed, and rested her hat back on her head. "Then, I trust ya." She said. "No reason not to right? Look, I ain't gonna tell no pony okay? On my mother's grave, I swear."
"You forgive me for my past transgressions?" He asked.
"I do, because from the looks of it, you really want to help Frost have a safe place to grow up. Yeah sure you burned most of Equestria, but that was the past right?"
"Yes-"
"Then lets leave it there. Ain't no good in dwelling on it, because it ruins your life." She explained. "Look, I'll give you an extra day to rest because it looks like you still need it. Oh, and Frost is getting better at speaking Equestrian. She learned a couple of words from mah little sister. I'll come back in a little bit to bring you some more apples okay?"
"Thank you once again Apple Jack."
"Think nothing of it, and hey, that's what true friends do. They help each other get over their problems."
Sivyer felt his heart jump for joy. He smiled as Apple Jack took her leave. He laid down, and closed his eyes. "This is a good home for Frost then..."
"I would hope so, or all your hard work would be in vein, Sivyer." Celestia smiled. Sister looked up and saw two Alicorns standing infront of him.
"I wish not to be rude princesses, but I have no idea who you are."
Celestia lowered her head. "You were our father's old friend."
"Don't tell me-"
"Yes, he's dead, he's been dead for a thousand years." Celestia raised her head, and to Sivyer's suprise the white alicorn was smiling. "I'm Celestia, and this is Luna. We've got so many questions to ask of you about our father!"
"We wish to know your past with him." Luna added. "Surely you may tell us?"
Sivyer shook his head. "I can't princesses." He replied. "My mission is not yet complete, and to complete it, I must work to have my home built so Frost may live safely."
"Who's Frost?" They asked, almost sounding excited.
"She's my adopted daughter, a threstral, and I shall tell no more."
"And why's that Sivyer?" Luna asked stepping forward.
"It's an oath to myself to never tell her past beyond what happened this last four months. However I can say that because of the element of honesty she's become healthy again." Sivyer stood up, and walked towards Celestia and Luna. "I thank you for visiting me, I really did enjoy seeing how much you've grown. You two grew so much, and I can tell by the aura in the air that you two have been through as much as you've learned. However, if you wish to know more," He paused, closing his eyes again. "You can take it from my corpse."
"Understood..." Celestia sighed heavily. "Then as princess, and duel ruler of Equestria, I command you to show my your daughter."
Sivyer smiled. "No need to command me Celestia-"
"Princess Celestia." Luna scolded.
Sivyer looked over at Luna and frowned. "I've known you when you where just tiny children playing with a baby god. Not only at Luna I am in a higher position much like you are now in to speak her normal name without title."
Luna was ready to attack him, when Celestia surrounded her in a yellow force field. She shook her head, and let Luna go. "I don't want any fighting. Not now anyways." She said. "Now, lets go see Frost."
It was more or less a calm talk with the small filly. Like she's told everypony else, she couldn't remember what happened four months ago. Celestia tried to use a memory spell, but remembered its more dangerous to use the younger the one needing to remember is. Luna hardly talk, but still laughed when Frost did a cute thing like tripping over her hooves.
Apple Jack sat right next to Sivyer and every now and then glared at the dragon. The burning village still fresh as a ripe apple in her mind. Partly stricken with horror that three dragons destroyed most of Equestria from who knows how long ago. Sivyer knew that she could've accessed his memories. As such when a door opens it'll let anything through on either side.
Sitting next to Frost was Luna, as quiet as she sat, her mind hadn't shut up. From where did they come from did she think, and all she could. Frost's mane was ice blue which ment she was from the north, but it could've been just genes that made it that way. For she could've known, her mother or father had it before her. However the thought of a threstral being adopted by a dragon slightly scared her.
Celestia Sat across from Sivyer, keeping a good eye on him, they sat outside near a lonely oak tree in the middle of a field just outside of Ponyville. To the right of her was Luna, and she knew Luna was still not happy how a dragon told her off. Luna still kept a slight smile despite that, which made Celestia smile herself. She was glad Luna was learning that she couldn't always get her way, and a dragon was amune to magic. Not only that they had unmatched strength, so if they did end up fighting, Sivyer would of won.
"So, Sivyer," Celestia started. "How old are you now?"
"I'm going to be two thousand-five hundred and twenty-three this August." He replied. "And you?"
Celestia blushed. "Don't you know it's rude to ask a lady's age Sivyer?" She chuckled. "But if you must know I'm going to be one thousand and ten this June during the Summer Solstice."
"And you, Luna?"
"I'm five years younger than she is, but my birth date is the Winter Solstice." Luna said roughly.
Sivyer smiled picking up Frost. "This little one is going to be nine in a month." He said. "May the forth."
"Then I suppose I should be picking out a present for her then huh?" Celestia asked.
"I have my duty to gift those of the night. I shall bring her something of great value! Tell me Frost, what is it that you want for your birthday?" Luna smiled at the small filly.
"I want to have a big party!" Frost jumped out of Sivyer's arms.
"Whoah there, how'd you learn to speak those words so quickly?" Celestia asked. "Just a few moments ago, you spoke with spaces."
"I am to blame." Sivyer said. "As the dragon of wisdom I may grant knowledge to those I choose. It was my plan to learn Equestrian at a swifter pace, and because of Apple Jack, I was able to read her memories of learning these words. Then I gave Frost them."
Celestia's eyes grew wide. "Your connected to the mind?"
Sivyer nodded. "A gift from Luxacord when he gave me my wisdom before he passed." He lowered his head.
Celestia raised his head with her magic. "His death wasn't bad. It was natural, of old age. Alicorns live for five thousand years at most from what my father told me. He was four thousand eight hundred years old when he died. Five years after you left."
"So he was dying..." Sivyer sighed. "I suppose I'm happy to leave Equestria. Death eludes me, yet, I fear it. I wish not to come close to death or his reach will take my soul as well."
Celestia nodded. "I think even Discord fears death."
"Discord? He's still around? Does he live here?"
"Indeed he does Sivyer, but that'll be for our next visit on this one's birthday. For now, we must take our leave to our royal duties." Celestia bowed with Luna. "Goodbye Sivyer, Frost, and you too Apple Jack. Wish your grandmother good heath for me."
"Thanks princess." Apple Jack tipped her hat with a grin.
"Luna," Sivyer stopped the night princess. "Your father, you look exactly like him."
"Thank you, Sivyer, and I suppose I am sorry for my behavior towards you. It was wrong of me to snap like I did."
Sivyer waved his hand. "Tis no issue of mine Luna." He said.
"Good bye uncle." Luna smiled as she ran to catch up with her sister.
Sivyer stood for a moment in silence for a moment in shock. "U-uncle?"
Apple Jack started to laugh. "Got ya good didn't she huh?"
"I-I suppose, but what if I am her family? Does that mean I could've returned sooner?"
Apple Jack shook her head. "Ah suppose you should know about Nightmare Moon..."
