Watch Ponies
Black Out
Previous ChapterEleven months later
Aiden's phone said "Module Initialized," and then "Boot Sequence." The screen turned into a grid and formed a black layout of the city with white outlines. It zoomed into the river between the city and swiftly moved to a baseball stadium with many ponies cheering and calling out negative comments to the opposing team. The login symbols appeared again. Aiden and Maurice were in a locker room for the Ponyville Pheonix's. The shelves were empty because everything was on the floor. Maurice shouted in pain as he crawled on the floor. His face bled as his shirt was torn.
"You got to believe me, man," Maurice pleaded.
"Who gave the order?" Aiden growled at him.
"I'm telling you!" Maurce shouted.
"You don't know…" Aiden finished for him. He pulled out his phone and played an audio recording.
"Hit the family?" Maurice said in the audio recording.
"That a problem?" The mysterious pony said.
"No, no at all," Maurice said. "I'll scare 'em good. You'll never hear from him again." Maurice's big eyes looked shocked as he looked at the phone in Aiden's hoof. He started to crawl away as he put the phone away in his jacket. Aiden stomped on Maurice's spine.
"So, what do ya think? I wasn't scared!" Aiden yelled. He shoved Maurice into shelves; Maurice tried to put his hooves infront of him to atleast reduce the pain. Aiden trodded up to him.
"It was part of my job!" Maurice used for a reason to live. Aiden crouched down and pointed to Maurice's head.
"Who was on the other end of the call?" Aiden asked. "Give me a name."
"I never got a name in that call!" Maurice shout.
"I'll give you a name, sure," Aiden said as he was inches from Maurice's muzzle. "Mare, Mare John." Aiden said the name of his dead neice as he squeezed Maurice's throat.
"Ach, ack, glack," Maurice made noises with his mouth. Aiden had let go as Maurice started to cough. "I don't know about the kids, man… I didn't anticipate that!" Maurice admitted.
"Think carefully, think," Aiden told him.
"Please, if I knew a name, I wouldn't tell you!" Maurice yelled at him. "Rethink about what you're doing! These ponies have stories like none other…" Aiden got up.
"Somethings can't be rethinked," Aiden muttered. "Who gave the order?!"
"I only spoke to him! He told where to find you!" Maurice made more excuses. "I don't know, man! I really don't know!" Aiden pulled out a gun. "I don't know! Just kill me!" Aiden carefully aimed and pulled the trigger. The gun clicked, making Maurice shriek.
"How's your memory now?" He said. He turned his flank on Maurice, then Maurice used his magic to pick up a bat. Aiden put his hoof in his jacket and pulled out a baton. He swung it at Maurice's muzzle and knocked him out. He hacked Maurices phone to listen to an audio log.
"Man, I killed Aiden fucking John's neice! He keeps chasing me! He won't stop! I don't know what to do…" The audio log ended there. He entered the next room where a stallion with a gun ran into him.
"You're going down, Maurice… wait, you're not Maurice!" The stallion yelled.
"What took you so long?" Aiden asked.
"What?" The stallion said in confusion. A pony came behind him and raised his hoof.
"He's talking to me," The pony said. He rushed the armed pony and stabbed him in the back. He searched the dead pony and spoke, "I leave you for two Celestia damned minutes…" he muttered.
"Can I have my bullets?" Aiden said as he held out his hoof.
"I got rid of 'em," The pegasus said. "You'd kill him anyways." Aiden threw his hoof down.
"You should've held on to them, Jordi," Aiden said to him. "And where were you?"
"I had to run an errand, and I'm sure you got what you wanted." Jordi said as his wings fluttered. Aiden stayed still as his back was turned to Jordi. He face winged. "You gotta be fucking kidding with me." He groaned.
"Let's just get rid of this mess, don't admire your work." Aiden told him.
"It's cute and all, but I'm feeling disappointed," Jordi said. "Your failure begins when you don't see the inter-gangster thing I'm doing." He picked up the gun of the dead pony that was going to kill Aiden.
"Don't you think we should get rid of the body?" Aiden asked.
"Shoulda asked before, too late now. Bottom of the eight inning now," He said. "Come on, be interested in my phone call." Aiden sighed a bit.
"What about it?" Aiden said.
"M'kay. So, dead bodies here, fourty thousand ponies above, distraction was needed, so I called the police." Jordi said. Aiden felt shocked at the action.
You're kidding, right?" Aiden asked.
"Nope, anyways they arrive and Maurice's brotherhood meet them," Jordi started to point his wings together and away. "Blam blam blam blam blam." He imitated a firefight.
"Please tell me you're kidding."
"No, so we got a altercation at the end of this game," He didn't joke around. "You and I slip between the cops undetected, appreciate the plan." Radio chatter cam from a corridor to their left.
"Suspects seem to be armed." A cop said.
"Good, cops. Get Maurice and get rid of the bodies." Aiden said.
"I'm not a chaffuer!" Jordi hissed.
"He's the shooter, I'm not through with him yet." Aiden told him.
"Asshole…" Jordi muttered. Aiden pulled a bandana over his mouth and silently ran towards the end of the corridor.
"Ponyville guards! If you're there, come out with your hooves up!" A guard shouted. Aiden crouched down behind a shelf cart as he spotted a flashlight held by a unicorn in a bullet proof vest.
"Definetly viceroys," a guard told his partner. "He has bullet wounds and a weapon." Another guard with a deep voice came down a spiral ramp.
"More viceroys!" He said trying to sound big and strong.
"No victoms then," a guard presumed. Aiden ran to the side of a truck as the guards searched the other side. He ran up the spiral ramp as the guards weren't alarmed. He climbed up a garbage can and faced double doors. He pushed the door with his hoof, but it was locked from the other side. He brought his phone out and hacked into a nearby security camera. A line connected to another security camera and switched to it as well. He pointed the camera to the mechanacal door lock and hacked into it. Aiden passed through the doors, but quickly crouched down once he saw a patrol guard.
"Nothing here," the guard said into his radio. Aiden threw a lure to get the guard distracted. He activated it, making the lure play a cheery ring tone. "Who's there?!" The guard shouted. He went to investigate. Aiden went past him and up a stair case. He opened a door. He got into a lobby where some guards were suspicious of a stallion.
"Hey you!" The guard motioned for the stallion to get near him.
Hey, I paid good money for these VIP tickets," the stallion said for an excuse to be left alone.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm sure you did," the guad refused to belive that. "How were you able to get the money for that?"
"I made money from my job, asshole." The stallion spat.
"Show your hooves so I can see them," the guard growl. The stallions wife came up to the guard.
"He didn't anything wrong!" She protested.
"You're viceroys, aren't you?" The guard presumed. Aiden ignored the future conversation and went into the next room. Stairs went down to his left, leaving room for error. He walked to a locked door with guards standing infront of it. Aiden made a phone call.
"BadColt, guards are locking up," Aiden informed. "I'm going to be stuck unless a ginormous distraction - make the power got out so I can slip pass them." A distorted voice spoke
"The whole statium? I thought you wanted your name out of the news," BadColt reminded him. "The ctOS has a nasty firewall." Aiden didn't care.
"I need to get out of the damn stadium now," Aiden spat. "Where is the nearest place I can access the ctOS?" He could hear BadColtsigh through the phone.
"The next room, but security clearance is needed." BadColt said. The conversation ended there.
"Shouldn't be too hard," Aiden assumed. "With the guards around, more than one should have clearance." Aiden hacked a security camera across the guarded door. A line connected to another security camera on top of a glass case. Two ponies were having a conversation.
"We need to evacuate these people." The pegasus said.
"We're not evacuating 40,000 ponies in the middle of a game!" The guard said. The vision of the camera switched to a basement camera with had the ctOS which was vunrable. Sudan hacked it and then put his phone away. The lights droned as the power was drained and ponies starting to scream.
"This is PH-2, this mysterious blackout is creating a mess," Pony Heli 2 said through radio. "Two arc lights shattered, some could possibly be injured."
"We need to get the ctOS back online," a guard informed. Aidens hooves clopped as he ran behind the guards and down some escalators. He pushed double doors and put a bat between the handle bars to block the doors.
"Jordi? Where were you?" Aiden said.
"Hey, I'm allergic to guards," Jordi said. "Anyways I left you a present. A friend of a friend sells pre-owned carrages. It's a sweet ride, take it or leave it. I really didn't give an ass." The called ended as Aiden passed another set of double doors. The room had a cider bar and a broken ATM. Two ponies were assuming it was a bat pony attack. Aiden bought a mug of cider and started to drink it. He proceeded to the next doors. He exited to stadium and his phone alerted him that the guards were searching the area. Aiden broke into a run and entered the carrage. The ponies that navigated the carrage neighed as they raised their front hooves and sprinted away.
The carrage scooted away as Aiden went to his ~~hideout~~, apartment. He ran up some stairs and made some turns and finally entered his room. He plugged his phone into and started playing an audio recording.
Maurice's voice playing in the audio speaker, "Rethink this man, these guys… they have stories like none other!" A video recording played after the audio. Aiden's sister trodded up to Aiden's filly of a nephew with a pinwheel hat.
"Is something wrong?" His sister asked. His nephew stayed silent for a while.
"Is he actually coming, unlike last time?" He asked.
"Button, I invited him. Of course he'll come, " Button's mother assured him
"He's late, are you sure you called the correct number?" Button asked with a bit of panic in his voice.
"Just because he's a different man, it doesn't mean he doesn't love us." The video ended there. Aiden walked to a projection with targets, and one was a sticky note with a question mark that was being connected from other by red lines. Fury built up in his hooves; he punched the sticky note. His phone rumbled in his coat; it was BadColt
His distorted voice came up. "I trust our info on favorite Maurice, we gained access to the ctOS while the guards were distracted," he said. "We both won this, share what we have," Relief filled Aiden. "You'll gain an amount of access to the ctOS network, but I'm still working on something bigger. Give me time…" He slipped his phone in his coat and went to sleep.
"So where are we going?" Mare asked as Aiden moved to carrage with the connecting saddle.
"Anywhere," Aiden said peacefully.
"Anywhere is boring! I want to go to Manehatten!" She whinned.
"Yes ma'am," Aiden said to play along. Mare held out her teddy bear out into the empty road. Two ponies came on both sides on the truck, one was Maurice. He pulled out a gun and shot Aiden's leg. He kept running spazticlly as the carrage skidded. Mare dropped her teddy bear in the middle of the road. The carrage tipped over, then the dream as over.
