Rainbow Blur

Citizens attempting to flee the mayhem, caused by nightmare moon, were practically trampling over one another in order to get as far away from the resident super villain. luckily for them their very own champion of colorful justice had arrived.

"Octavia's going to kill me for ditching on the newbie." said Rainbow Dash to no one in particular.

She quickly flew past the buildings to save the screaming citizens of New York, her rainbow colored hair blowing in the wind. She had arrived at the scene, much to the citizens relief, as she came face to face with her arch nemesis Nightmare Moon. Nightmare's hair was as blue as a sapphire diamond, her skin as black as night, and eyes as red as rubies. at first glance on would probably think they were staring at the form of a she devil.

Nightmare laughed at the sudden presence of the Rainbow Blur. "look at what we have here, the resident do-gooder in all of her GAY glory." mocked Nightmare Moon as she saw the blur's cheeks glow red with embarrassment.

Rainbow Dashed hated any homosexual comments made towards her. She remembered all the times as a teen she was made fun of due to her natural hair color, kids could be cruel, thought Rainbow Dash.

"Enough jokes!" yelled Rainbow as she got into a mid air fighting stance, "lets finish this quickly, I got places I need to be." said the Blur with a serious tone to her voice.

Nightmare eyes glowed red with fury, " the only place you'll be going is hell, you fucking bitch!" she screamed in anger.

Nightmare Moon then flew towards the Blur at sonic speed, yet to Rainbow it seemed  more like slow motion. They don't call me the Rainbow Blur for nothing, thought Rainbow Dash as she quickly dodged all of Nightmares attacks with ease. Though it seemed as though luck was not on Dash's side as she heard a scream from an onlooker that for a spit second distracted Rainbow and gave Nightmare Moon the perfect opportunity to land a blow right on her face, it left a red mark on her cheek that would surely bruise.

"You bitch!" spat Rainbow Dash as she placed her hand on her red cheek.

Nightmare laughed evilly before saying " Whats the matter Blur cant keep up with me? I can understand why though, my power far outweighs your pitiful abilities."

Rainbow glared at her nemesis, "we"ll see how cheeky you are after i smash your face in." Rainbow stated as she flew towards her opponent delivering a swift and powerful punch to her chest that sent her sky rocketing towards a building.

Seeing her mistake, the Blur quickly flew toward Nightmare before she could collide with occupied building. Rainbow kicked in another direction so she wouldn't harm any citizens, now she her opponent had started to fall towards an unused patch of farm land. Nightmare smashed into the ground causing an earthquake like rumble. The entire city rejoiced as the super villain was dealt with, all thanks to their own personal super hero The Rainbow Blur.

Rainbow Dash hovered in mid air as she cracked her sore joints, possibly popping a few bones back into place. Rainbow then looked down at her citizens before saying, "i'm glad everyone's safe, be sure to call me whenever something else important comes up. i'll be her faster than you can say AWESOME!" said The Rainbow Blur before she flew off back to her work.

* five minutes and one clothes change later*

"Rainbow Dash! What the hell is wrong with you?!" screamed Octavia as our young heroine sunk into her chair in both fear and embarrassment. "I give you one job, ONE JOB!" exclaimed Octavia as she pinched the bridge of her nose, her hair disheveled from stress.

"Sorry boss, something important came up." said Rainbow with both shame and guilt.

Octavia finally calmed down to some degree. "look, I don't care what you do in your personal time but this is work dammit, and I need you to start acting like what happens in this building and city matter to you." said Octavia with a sort of motherly tone to her voice. "go apologize to the new guy, then come right back to my office there are some things I need to discuss with you before I give you your next assignment."

" you got it chief." said Dash with enthusiasm as she practically saluted Octavia before she left to go find James.

Rainbow Dash was deep in thought wondering what she could do to make it up to James, so much so that she didn't even see the person in front of her as she collided with them. Rainbow was fine since almost nothing could really hurt her so she just shrugged it off and got back up. she than went over to the other person to help them up and realized the one she had been thinking about had been knocked on his ass by her.

"Sorry about that, i should really pay more more attention to were i'm going." apologized Rainbow Dash as she extended her arm to help James up.

James adjusted his glasses before taking Rainbow's arm and saying, "it's fine, nothings broken as far as i can tell so no need to worry."

Rainbow Dash smiled as she looked at the childish grin he was giving her. she couldn't help but smile back, at the same time thinking about how sweet this man was as they both stared at each other. Realizing that she was staring, she quickly averted her gaze and apologized to her fellow journalist once more before offering to take him to lunch for ditching him earlier. luckily he agreed or Octavia might have carved her ass if she couldn't make it right with her new employee.

* Thirty minutes later *

both Rainbow and James were seated across from each other as they waited in a Perkins for their food. they conversed in small talk as they waited, Rainbow asked him if he had any family in the city.

" I do have a sister who has lived here for a couple years, she was actually the one who recommended i get a job here. She always thinks that just because she's older than me that she can make life decisions for me." said James with a sigh. he turned his gaze back to Rainbow, " so how about you, got any family here?" asked James with curiosity.

" No, my mom lives in Manhattan, I try to visit as often as possible since she lives by herself." stated Rainbow Dash with sadness in her voice.

Their food came and both James and Rainbow had eaten their lunch before heading back to the office, it was then that Dash had remembered that Octavia wanted to meet with her after she came back.

Rainbow knocked before entering and what she saw sent a chill down her spine, Octavia was holding an assignment paper up for her to see and she saw that it was an interview assignment. normally Rainbow Dash was fine with those kind of jobs since she got to get out of the office, but this was not one of those times.

Octavia's gaze was fixed right on Dash as she slammed the assignment paper down on the table before telling rainbow Dash that it was time for her to take on a more hard hitting story. She said that she would working with Twilight Sparkle to get this interview, which normally wouldn't bug her too much, it's not like Rainbow hated Twilight she just thought the girl could get a little annoying when she got would talk about all the things she liked. Which where: books, science, history and the one Rainbow hated the most the Rainbow Blur.

Rainbow was practically on her knees begging. " anything but a Rainbow Blur assignment, i'll even go do the story about Justin Bieber's new haircut, anything but the Rainbow Blur. PLEASE!" pleaded Rainbow Dash.

Octavia sighed " I don't know why you have such an issue with those Rainbow Blur stories, but you're one of our best journalists second only to Twilight." stated Octavia before continuing, " but you need to put those issues aside Dash, the Rainbow Blur just got into a fist fight with Nightmare Moon in the city and i need both of my best journalists on it, now get to it."

"yes mam." sulked Rainbow as she trudged to to Twilight's desk.

"great, now what am i gonna do"  thought Rainbow Dash
