Dead Rising: Off the World

Chapter 4 - The Colorful Conflict----------

The Ponyville Library had an intense aura surrounding it. Inside was a very ticked off Rainbow Dash, a disgusted Rarity, an enraged Applejack, a petrified Fluttershy, and Twilight Sparkle, who was trying her best not to either run away or beat the visitor to death. Oh yes, and speaking of visitor, let's count Frank West in. Now what did Frank do to make a situation like this?

Earlier, he had been introduced to the Mane Six formerly. However, despite their efforts to give him information, he seemed to doze off into short sleeping times. After multiple attempts of trying to introduce Equestria, Rainbow Dash finally yelled at Frank for being rude to both her and her friends. And that was when he said it.

"Then I assume you're all lesbians."

That completely blew the bomb up.

"Girls! Girls! Pipe down, will you? He's in a strange state of sleepiness, so I don't think he could help himself but to think in a haywire manner." said Twilight desperately.

"Couldn't help himself? State of sleepiness? The only thing 'ah agree is that he has some real 'haywire' manners!" retorted Applejack. After multiple failed attempts of trying to calm the ponies down, Frank yelled out,

"QUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!"

Everypony stood in shock as the human used the tremendously loud noise. It seemed to rival with Princess Luna's Canterlot voice. However, Fluttershy noticed something strange about Frank; he was breathing heavily and seemed panicked.

"U-Umm... Mr. West, are you alright?"

"Of course I'm not!" snapped Frank. "I'm supposed to get my Zombrex at this hour! If I don't get it, I might as well die soon."

The six ponies gasped at the newly revealed fact. Even Rainbow Dash seemed to forget about her intense hate towards the newcomer. Fluttershy squeaked out,

"I-I-Is it n-necessary for y-your survival?"

"Yeah. And if I don't get it, I might as well become a-"

Suddenly, a beeping noise came out of the room. Frank and the six ponies looked around for the source of the noise but failed to do so. However, Frank suddenly recognized it. He took out a small radio transmitter and clicked it.

"......Hello?" whispered Frank. However, the voice that came afterwards made him throw the radio out of a window,

"Frank West. You are going DOWN for my dau-"

The ponies blinked in surprise. Rarity boldly asked the human,

"...What was that thing supposed to be?"

"It's a radio. We use it to communicate at far ranges. Although I won't be needing it anymore..." muttered Frank. He developed an 'I-seriously-hate-that-guy' relationship with a psychopath, and just thinking about it pissed him off.

Before he could explain about Zombrex, the pink pony slowly asked,

"So you need this Zombrex thing? To live? Isn't that a terrible fate?"

Frank noticed that the usual lunatic had her hair hung straight down from her head. Almost as if...

'If she were dead... God, I hate it whenever someone looks creepy like that.

"Yep. But if I were in a good case scenario, then I wouldn't need it anymore."

Twilight was about to say something when Frank suddenly stood up.

"What's the bright light over there?" he asked.

The purple unicorn turned and noticed the familiar light... and instantly bowed. Frank noticed that the rest of the ponies bowed as well. The six ponies knew all too well about the princesses of Equestria, but Frank did not know who had just come out of the light.

Slowly, the light faded as two tall alicorns stood in where the source used to be. One was dark-blue and seemed to be smaller than the other one. The tall one was pure white and seemed to have endless colors running down her mane. The two slowly trotted over to the bewildered human. When they were close enough to fully inspect him, the white alicorn spoke up,

"Greetings, strange creature. I am Princess Celestia, and this is my sister, Princess Luna. Together, we rule Equestria with harmony and happiness. What brings you here, and would you care to explain who you are?"

Much to everypony's surprise, however, the man clapped slowly. A minute seemed to go by before he finally stopped clapping and answered,

"So you two are the... monarchs in this place?"

Celestia nodded, "Indeed we are."

A few moments of silence passed. Suddenly, the man started to laugh out loud. He clutched his stomach and rolled around the floor, continuing to laugh. The six ponies were horrified by the act he was committing in front of their leaders; he looked like as if he was mocking them.

Luna growled and shouted out in her Canterlot voice, "YOU WILL NOT LAUGH AT THE PRINCESS, YOU ARROGANT CREATURE!"

Frank finished laughing as he slowly got up. However, his back was turned to the ponies, secluding his expression. It was a face that knew he was going to die soon if he were to be the unluckiest man in the world.

"...I was laughing at myself."

Luna seemed to freeze in place as the photographer went on,

"You see, I find it ironic that my fate is to explain who I am over and over again, only to die in a few minutes. I could already feel the process of... turning... right now..."

The dark-blue alicorn asked in her normal voice, "And what is it that is... murdering you?"

Frank turned around, revealing a serious expression that was plastered in his face. "A zombie got me. And the medicine required to backfire the process of turning into one isn't here. In other words, I'm screwed."

Everypony seemed to gasp at this revalation. Celestia felt pity for the creature before her. She had never seen such an exotic creature that had a horrifying fate. However, she knew that she could give him hope to live once more.

"...I know how to backfire it. Permanently."

Just when Frank was about to turn around, he stopped moving. He looked back at Celestia with eyes that were clearly confused.

"I-I don't understand. I mean, I'm sure that there were no such thi-"

"Enough. Everypony out of the library."

The Elements of Harmony looked at each other with nervousness. They then trotted out quickly. Luna also followed the ponies out, making sure that they weren't peeking. The white alicorn stepped in front of the human and commanded,

"Close your eyes, and take five deep breaths. Then, open them, and look into my own."

Frank nodded and did as he was told. When he opened his eyes, he saw an endless paradise behind her eyes, which startled him. Suddenly, he was filled with a strange sensation within his body. It filled him up endlessly, until it finally stopped at one point. His body was full of energy, and he could feel something strange.

"...What did you do?"

"I told you, I backfired the process."

Frank looked at his hands and noticed something.

"...I see what you did there."

Celestia smiled and said to him, "Although your old body was dying out, a new one would also give you a fresh start."

Frank felt the young energy he used to have back in Willamette. It was a pleasant feeling to feel strong again, and he started to like this 'Celestia' mare. Then, the alicorn asked him,

"Now would you tell me what was your name again?"

The photographer grinned smugly as he looked up face-to-face with the princess. He stuck out a hand and replied in a younger voice,

"My name's Frank West. And I love you so much for what you just did there, princess."

Celestia laughed and used her hoof to shake his hand.

"It's good to have you 'alive', Frank. Please, just call me Celestia, because I don't think you're exactly used to saying titles."

The man chuckled. He looked out a window, only to find a rainbow suddenly appear outside.

"...Must be that crazy Pegasus again."

Hey guys! The reason why I wrote this chapter was to answer how Frank got over his Zombrex issue. The next chapter would be a little more exciting, as it includes a psychopath that many have been terrified of. Also, just a note, but this chapter was slightly rushed. It will be more detailed next time.
