Twisted Heart’s POV

I watched he whom I had thought was weak develop his power, and I was wrong. He was strong, powerful, and I simply had to push him past the edge. I had the guards capture dragons so that Fire could simply have something to tear apart. He had dragon corpses dragged away by guards who trembled beneath him, for now, he chose to give one chance and one chance only.

But the enemy was quick. They were planning to take the elements to use against us. We could not allow it to happen. “If you fail us Commander, we will make you impossible to kill unless we so choose, and be burned for the rest of time.” Fire Heart understood that if the elements were lost, then our rise to power was for nothing.

“Yes, my lord,” said the commander as he shook.

“General, send them a message, if they attempt to take the elements, they will fail and be brought before us, and will suffer unimaginable punishments.”

“Yes, your majesty.” The guard then mumbled something under his breath, which, somehow, Fire Heart heard.

“How DARE… General Veers!”

“Yes my lord?”

“Take this ungrateful whelp to the dungeon. He will receive my PERSONAL attention.”

“Yes my lord.”

What did he say? I asked.

When he told me, I demanded that the general be executed.

No, he will learn to respect us, and we will make an example of his punishment. I was speechless.

He had changed.

Luna’s POV

Discord and I were about to fly up there when an arrow just narrowly missed Rarity. When we read it, it was horrible news.

Fire Heart was corrupted.

“Well… now what? If we go on we will no doubt receive worse punishment then befell him, and the one pony we could rely on is corrupt. I can’t create chaos because it would be easy for him to break through if Fire Heart is corrupt, and we can’t use magic because he’s simply too powerful,” said Discord as he read the note.

“Easy, we just fly in, take the Elements, and then use them,” replied Rainbow Dash.

“It’s not that simple,” said Tia, “He could easily influence time and space and paralyze you. We would need a guard to sneak in and take the Elements.”

“It seems we our beaten, if we cannot go in. For us to defeat this pony, we must hide correctly.”

“Run away? Forget it, I’ll take my chances,” said Rainbow Dash as she tried to fly to the Elements. Luckily Discord took her wings and she fell. “Hey, give them back!”

“Not until you learn reason. This is like a strategy game; you don’t just fly blindly towards your enemy, that’s in fact what he told us. Clearly he sees this as a game if he sent THIS kind of message,” said Discord as he held up the note.

“Well then-“ began Rainbow Dash when Rarity’s hair was clipped by yet another note.

Spike read it out loud. “Ahem, 'Dear my worthless enemies, I have chosen to give you some of the elements if you play my little game that formed while I was banished. Note many places here are unreal (for now), and they point to areas that natives of that accursed realm thought up. One, for example is aimed toward Pinkie primarily but does mention Ms. Dash. This is a story that even I couldn’t finish without regret, but it is where laughter is, for so much evil is contained in it that I had to laugh. I have given you a tool to locate the story, but I doubt you could possibly finish it. You will find more clues along the way, but I will keep one with me… the element of magic. Ta ta. Signed by Fire Heart and Twisted Heart. P.S. tell Discord he is to meet me at the maze, I would like to turn him to stone personally. The rest I will think of punishments along the way.’” When Spike finished reading the letter, we looked and saw there was a strange device. It had a note on it as well.

‘Dear ponies, if you are reading this then the controls are simple. Type in various things and things like that will come up. And thank you, Twilight, for giving me a place to rest. Expect messages soon on (email-password). I may occasionally keep you in touch with your friends and family here and in various other areas… tata.’

“Well, this other realm is quite interesting. Now to find out where this place is. Pinkie may be the best one to read it if it says evil things about her,” Discord said. Everypony else agreed and Pinkie began to read.

One cupcakes reader later

“Never ask me to read that again!” shouted Pinkie.

“Any ideas on where it’s at?

“P-p-ponyv-v-vil-l-le.”

They went to Ponyville and followed Pinkie to Sugarcube Corner. When they found the Element of Laughter on the counter top with a note they became wary. As they walked to it they received another letter through Spike. They read the one on the counter top and it said something about a rainbow factory. When they read the second, they couldn’t believe their eyes.

Dear Friends,

Forgive me, but this is one of the few ways I can think of to defeat Twisted Heart. I promise you I will never become corrupted, whether through  visions, or  through  how I am treated. Do not speak of this letter in public, for he has many spies. I do not know how, who they are, or why. If my plan works, then Equestria will be free, and  I  will only have one request. His final death had never happened, and I have a family where I call home. Enough of that, we must face  the current problem. He is leading you into a trap. If you finish  this little game of his, you will be taken into custody and  he will find ways to make you regret the past. I have attached a note of where the Elements are that you would achieve. When you gain these Elements, Twilight  must  be prepared to use whatever necessary for you to get out.

“Anypony else shocked at this?” asked Discord.

“Home name?”

“I’m shocked.” Every pony was. If not for the fact they would have walked into the trap or he had another name, then it was the fact he told where the Elements were.

“So, where to?”

“We’ll need to do the game like we would have until we set off the trap. Then, we do what we can to defeat them,” said Tia.

“Agreed,” Discord and I said together.

And then we set off to find the next one on the list, Loyalty.
