When Can I Go Back Home?

Chapter 2:

Surprise!

"This is Town Hall, where we have meetings and where the mayor lives." said Twilight.

Twilight was giving Lightning a tour around Ponyville.

"Mayor?" Lightning asked.

"What was that, Lightning?"

"N-Nothing." Lightning said, hesitating.

"Mhm... so, where are your parents?"

Lightning looked away, "Uhm, I don't feel like talking about them..."

Lightning's memory told her that her parents died. But, they really didn't die.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I-I didn't know."

"I-I'ts fine, Twilight."

"Yeah, Twilight said that it was gonna be held in her place!" a voice shouted.

Lightning looked around, Who was that?

"Shh, Pinkie! Lightning can't know about it yet." another voice said, with a country accent.

"Okie Dokie Lokie then!"

Wait, Applejack? Pinkie?"

Twilight laughed nervously, "Heh, they talk about nonsense, don't they?"

Applejack was dragging Pinkie Pie to Twilight's house.

"HI, LIGHTNING! HOW'S IT BEEN?!" shouted Pinkie.

"Pinkie stop it!"

Lightning giggled a little then looked back up at Twilight.

"So, Twi, where can you get something to eat?"

"Follow me. And you'll get something, or more, to eat."

"So much... sweets... full... stomach." Lightning groaned.

"Seems like you enjoyed the food. Well, sweets." Twilight said, smiling.

"Ya think?"

Pinkie bounced over to Twilight and whispered something in her ear.

"Okay, I'll tell her, Pinkie."

"Yay! She's not gonna expect it!"

"Expect what?" Lightning asked, curious about what they're talking about.

"I'll tell you as soon as we get to my place."

Twilight and Lightning came into view at a window, ponies were hiding to jump out and say, "Surprise!"

"Why's it so dark in here?"

Just then, the lights turned on and mostly all of Ponyville was there.

"SURPRISE!"

Lightning jumped up, "Woah, Twilight, it's your birthday?!"

"No, silly! This is a 'Welcome to Ponyville' party! Just for you, Lightning!" Pinkie said, bouncing over to them.

"Were you surprised?! Were ya, were ya, hu, hu, hu?!"

"Very."

"What are you waiting for?! LET'S PART-TAY!"

Pinkie pulled out Ponyville's top DJ, Vinyl Scratch a.k.a., DJ PON3.

"Alright everypony, let's show our newcomer how we party Ponyville style!"

Vinyl started taking song requests while Lightning was talking with the Mane 6.

"Lemme get this straight, Twilight is a princess, Rarity is a fashionista, Applejack is an apple harvester, Pinkie is Ponyville's top party pony, Fluttershy is sorta like a vet, and Dash is 'The Best Young Flier In Equestria', a weather pony, and lazy?"

Applejack nodded, "Got that right. Especially the part where you called Dash here lazy."

Pinkie giggled a bit at that.

"So, Lightning, how old are you?" Twilight asked.

"I'm... uh..."

"What's wrong? Don't tell me you forgot how old you are..."

Lightning laughed nervously, "What if I did tell you that I forgot?"

Twilight groaned, "Ugh, great, well, whatever. Got another question for you."

"Shoot."

"How did you end up in a ditch?"

"Uh... I don't know.... I think I lost memory of everything that happened. 'Cuz I can't remember a thing."

"Ooh, are they playing Counting Stars?! Oh, I love that song!" Pinkie squealed.

Lightning smiled at Pinkie's happiness.

Just then, Pinkie started singing.

Lately, I've been, I've been losing sleep, dreamin' about the things that we could be.

Past the river, every turn...

Lightning started singing some of the song but, quiet enough that only she could hear it.

Get that money, watch it burn,

I don't think the world is sold, just doin' what been told

Lightning didn't realize she was singing louder now, a level 2 voice.

I couldn't lie, couldn't lie, couldn't lie,

everything that kills me makes me feel alive!

A couple of ponies started to look over at Lightning.

Level 3 voice...

Lately I've been I've been losing sleep,

dreaming about the things that we could be.

Now everypony in the room could hear Lightning singing. But, she didn't care, she enjoyed it, the attention, the song, and feeling free to sing.

She started dancing at the same time she was singing.

Pretty soon, the song was over and most ponies were shouting, clapping, and cheering for her.

"Kid's got some good voice, and moves." Vinyl said to herself.

"How did you remember the song lyrics but not how old you are?" Twilight asked Lightning.

"I didn't! By the tune of the song and the first words, I can pretty much guess the rest." ***

"Oh."

"YOU'RE A WITCH?!" Pinkie exclaimed.

"No, Pinkie."

"Okie Doki Lokie then!" she said, happily bouncing away and humming a tune.

That tune... sounds so... ugh... like, I've heard it before...

Soon, the party was over.

Lightning was tired from singing, dancing, and stuffing sweets into her mouth.

She had sung Fireflies by Owl City, Tik Tok by Ke$ha, Party Rock Anthem A.K.A. Every Day I'm Shuffling, and more.

She also danced to the Cupid Shuffle.

"Ugh, my head... what happened last night?"

Lightning banged her head against the pillow on her bed.

How'd I get on a bed? Oh yeah, I fell asleep and Twi carried me over here...

Lightning yawned and ran her hoof through her hair.

What was that important thing I remembered.... oh, well, I'll just have to remember later.
