Celestia and the House of Stardust
Chapter 2
Previous ChapterCelestia sat at her chair in her sitting room. A quaint part of her, otherwise huge and radiant castle. One of the only places where she could sit by somepony and not dominate the room with her presents, and alleviates the pressure of any of her friends or subjects she would wish to talk freely with. It wasn't too big, like her grand throne room, but not too small, to where ponies could walk and pace freely around the room. There were three entry ways from each direction, leaving the last dimmention for a window's view of the Canterlot Garden. The only sound that permeated the air was the constant tapping Celestia's hoof, until finally a door opened to her left revealing just the pony she wanted to see.
"I'm glad you could meet me on such short notice."
"Well, I felt that if the Princess of Equestria felt it was important enough to clear up her afternoon schedule, that I should extend to her the same courtesy."
"As always, it good to see you again Fancy Pants. Come sit with me."
As Fancy Pants trotted over to sit at the small table across from Celestia, he asked, "Now Princess, should I ask what has caused this unexpected meetup. I do enjoy all the time I get to chat with you, but it seems as though you needed to talk about something urgent with me."
The princess sighed before she started, "Duke Fancy Pants, as you know, I hardly prefer to meddle in the politics of the House of Nobles. I like to distance myself from taking sides of conflicts, when those conflicts are purely internal. I love all my little ponies, and it hurts me to see some of the ruling family look at me with a look of betrayal on their faces should they ever see me take the other side, so I distance myself as far as I can from the debating, only getting involved with a final say in policy creation or change. So you can understand why I am so out of touch with what goes on with the ruling class of Canterlot, right?
"Of course Princess."
"So you understand why I need your judgement and knowledge on a Noble House, particularly, the House of Stardust."
"Ah, so this has something to do with that new student of yours?"
"Well, I did see that that Twilight's family is particularly...different from what I expected of a rich and influential Canterlot family."
The unicorn stallion chuckled, "Now you truly understand the grievances of Canterlot Royalty."
Celestia briefly thought back to her morning with Twilight.
"Twilight before I can teach you, I think I need to know what you know, so do you already know some spells that you could show to me?"
"Oh yeah Princess! I have whole bunch of spells I know how to cast," the filly beamed, before her confidence slowly crumbled, "but I sorta never got to cast a bunch of them, but I still know how to do it!" She sounded like she was pleading her worth near the end.
Celestia, gave off a light chuckle, "Okay Twilight, if your confident you can show them to me, go ahea..."
She later spent the rest of the day stopping the furniture from attacking the servants and apologizing to everyone injured from the incident.
"I'm slowly drawing a picture"
Fancy Pants chuckled, "Well, the House of Sparkle have quite a colorful history. What would you like to know?"
"Everything."
