Daylight Terror
Chapter 1
Load Full StoryNext ChapterI wake up to a loud noise outside my studio apartment. "Damn neighbors... always partying!" I get up regretfully out of bed, out of my custom-made Fluttershy pajamas and walk into my bathroom to ready myself for work. Half an hour goes by as I get dressed in my uniform, a tight-fitting maintainance outfit that's itchy and uncomfortable. I walk over to my keys and walk over to the door.
*FLASH* "What the fu--!"
It's dark. My body feels like it's covered in minor burns, and I keep trying to open my eyes. A voice calls out, "You have to wake up! Please, I need your help!". That voice sounds familiar. "Wake up, human!" Huh? That's an odd thing to say. I finally feel like the dizziness is wearing off, and I finally begin to see again. What I'm looking at is... Twilight Sparkle? No way! I raise my torso off the ground that I'm laying. I see the markings of a magic circle on the floor, and with me in the center.
I stand up, mulling over this surreal situation I'm in... to end up falling on my butt in pain and trembling weakness. "You aren't ready to move yet, this spell was very difficult to pull off and I'm afraid I need to treat your burns." she says to me, walking away from my position on the floor. The lavender-colored unicorn stands at a podium, flipping pages of a book with her magic.
I'm highly confused by these incredible sights, only uttering the words "So, this place... really exists?"
She looks confused by my statement as well. "Obviously, since your senses are taking in the environment." That's true. This place feels too real to be a dream.
She closes the book, and turns toward me. "Straight to the point then. You are in Equestria, a place where Unicorns, Pega--"
I cut her off. "I think I know what this place is, what I want to know is why you brought me here."
She's visibly taken aback by the statement, but manages to switch gears. "Well... If you do miraculously know what this place is, then you might have heard of our princess monarch, Celestia. Something has gotten into her, and now she's become cruel tyrant of lust and hatred! I need a human to help with this, and you are the one that was summoned using my spell. I'm desperate and out of options, can you help me?"
I'm surprised by this. Celestia doesn't seem like one to be taken over by darkness any sort, she's supposed to be powerful and kind. I look up at Twilight again, to see her eyes to the floor and tears fall from her face. "What? Hey, don't cry." I get off the floor, legs shaky and painful, to walk to where she was standing. I make it there, but fall on my knees this time. Then, I wrap my arms around the back of her neck, saying softly to her: "Don't worry, I swear I'll help you out. You respect her a lot, don't you?"
"B-but, how did you..." She stutters.
I let go of her. "Let's not think about that now, my legs are killin' me. Do you have a spell that can heal these deep burns?" I lightly chuckle.
She laughs awkwardly, and then wipes away the leftover tears. "I'm sorry, I probably should've treated that first. Here, lay flat on the ground again." I obey, letting her do her work. "I'm not the best at healing spells, but this spell will heal you from the inside out, and rather quickly. It'll take about a day to completely heal." Her horn touches my forehead and a blinding light flashes. Energy is flowing into my veins, making my body feel light. "There, that should do the trick." she says with a smile.
"Good to see you're feeling better too, Twilight. Now, what is our plan for saving the Princess? I have a feeling we should help her as
soon as possible."
She gives another astonished expression. "I almost forgot! Take this candy. You are going to need this. She levitates a candy covered in a striped wrapper over to me, plopping into my open hands.
"Candy?"
"Yes. I only know of one way we can trick her using magic, and that is taking advantage of her weakest moment. That is... umm...."
"Is something the matter, Twi?"
She speaks up once again. "No, it's just... hard to say. Her weakness is when she's... having sex."
I instantly break into laughter so hard that I'm crying. "Pfft, I'm sorry... It was just so cute how you looked when you said that!"
Her face reddens in embarrassment. "W-well, how else can I say something s-so embarrassing!"
I wipe away a tear and get back on track with our previous conversation. "In any case, how am I going to get her to have sex with me? That sounds like a rather impossible task."
"Not really. She... likes experimenting... a lot. You humans are supposed to be an intelligent species a high sexual dri--" She stutters, and turns even redder than last time. Trying to suppress an oncoming breakdown from Twilight, I change the subject. "Suppose I do get her to bed, how am I going to get her to eat it? I'd think she would be more wary of a 'magical bonbon' that I would hypothetically insist her to eat."
"Just say it has an aphrodisiac." she says, leaving me dumbfounded by her obvious and straight-faced statement.
"That wouldn't even convince me, Twilight." I say with a heavy sigh.
"Well, it's true, it does have an aphrodisiac."
'That's not the point, egghead!' I almost tempted to shout at her. Luckily, I stop myself and sigh to her once more. "Look, I'm sure that won't work against her. However, I'll try my best to talk her into it, or think of something else. When are we going to pull this off, anyway?"
The violet unicorn puts her hoof under her chin in thought. A few seconds she responds. "I think it'd be best to prevent anymore victims of her... ahem, well... actions. So... Tomorrow? Yeah, tomorrow." Blushing again.
"What should I do until then, Twi?"
"Well, you could explore Ponyville a bit. I'll prepare a bed of hay for you, for when you get back." She says getting up off the floor. Then I remember, with that one word, 'Ponyville'. I'm in every Brony's paradise. I suddenly get the most excited I've ever been in my life, bouncing on my toes, shaking uncontrollably.
"Later!!" I bolt through the door, leaving Twilight with what I'm guessing is an incredibly baffled expression. I find myself surrounded by nostalgic scent of farmland and apples, and a plethora of colored horses. The scene feels like it should be painted and placed in the finest of museums. Stalls selling vegetables, and the occasional pony pulling a wagon. I slow to sluggish pace as I take in everything around me. Then I realize it. Ponies begin to gather around me in obvious curiosity. And to an even greater surprise, one of the onlookers turns and runs the opposite way. Was that Bonbon? I didn't have a good enough look at her to know or not.
The distracting thought finally leaves me, and I remember about the prolonged eye contact of a spectrum of ponies. They are eyeing me as if I were Trixie putting on the best show of her life. Finally, the fragile silence breaks as a mint-colored unicorn bowls through the middle of the crowd. She tumbles out in front of the rest of them, and everypony looks over her with confusion. She bolts up quickly, with high excitement. "Is this how energetic looked a moment ago?" I almost blush at the passing thought.
"Ohmygosh, I'm Lyra! Can I be your friend? I've never met a human before and humans are so cool! Pleeease? I--" I cut her off before the situation can get any weirder.
"Calm down please, I'm sure everyon--... Ahem, everypony, would like a chance to speak with me." As I finish saying that, Twilight Sparkle comes out of the library behind me. I turn to her, and realize that all this attention isn't a good thing, judging by her look. She suddenly flashes her horn, and I'm in a completely different area. I'm looking at the Everfree Forest, and next to it, Fluttershy's cottage. My vision blurs, blurs and I become nauseated.
Twilight suddenly comes into my sight, and dons a worried expression. "Oh, I'm so sorry! Are you alright?" She rubs her hoof on my back, which I thought would be rough and hard, but it's the complete opposite. "Teleportation spells can make you feel nauseous the first time."
Her light massage makes me feel better, and I rise off my hands and knees. "No, I should apologize, I got carried away. I was so excited to come here that well..."
Twilight gives an anxious laugh. "I probably should've made you wait until night, so we wouldn't attract so much attention. I'm sure it's fine now, though." She sighs deeply, and turns to look at the cottage. "Oh, Fluttershy! I thought you were having tea with Rarity at the Boutique." I turn to look the direction of Twilight's words, and notice the mellow yellow Pegasus trotting out from her quaint little cottage.
"Oh... Well, Rarity had a sudden order from Photo Finish, and she felt like needed more time." replies Flutters with a sullen look to the ground. She then notices me standing next to Twilight and perks up once more. "Oh, what is this creature, Twilight? I've never seen it before!" Her eyes glistening like a babydoll, she flies in circles around me.
Twilight opens her mouth to speak, but I respond first. "Uhm, I'm a human? Nice to meet you Fluttershy." I'm probably just as curious about Flutters as she is about me. Her mane with such a beautiful carnation pink, and her coat lightly glistening in the afternoon sun. Apart from my observations, she is baffled by my short speech.
"Y-you can talk?" I noticed she a bit tense, but still just a curious as before. I'm glad I haven't scared her off, since I didn't show much tact with my earlier reply.
"Err... Yes. Humans are capable of speech too. So, I have heard you are great with animals." My curiosity led me to a landmine. Now how am I supposed to follow-up? Twilight's smile turns to a look of astonishment once again, and fluttershy looks at her expression confused. "Umm... Could you forget that last question?"
Twilight inquires regardless. "How the hay did you know something like that, I summoned you from a different world!" Twi cringes at this second faux pas. Maybe we should shut our traps, before it gets any worse. I sigh at this thought. Surprisingly, it's Twilight who makes an about-face. "Fluttershy, you can't tell any one about this. I've used a spell to summon this human from his world, to save Celestia. I can trust you about this, right?"
Fluttershy looks over at me and back to Twilight, with a plain expression. "I Pinkie promise." Fluttershy replies. They both start the childish chant, much to my surprise.
"Cross my heart and hope to fly... Stick a cupcake in my eye!" I start laughing so hard it hurts. I literally fall on the the ground, unable to stop for few moments. The both turn their heads, watching in bafflement.
"I'm sorry!" I wipe away a tear still lightly chuckling. "You two were just so cute when you did that." They both blush at my following statement. "Anyway, so the cat's out of the bag. What next?"
Twilight turns to look up, hoof to chin once again. I'm rather fond of this look, of her looking deep in thought. After what seems like a minute. She tells me: "Maybe it's time we get going. The sun should be setting soon, so we'll be meeting with Princess Luna. Thanks for your time, Fluttershy." she finishes, looking over at Fluttershy.
Flutters replies blissfully. "Oh, no, thank you Twilight. For letting me meet your friend, I mean. Bye now!" With that, Twilight's horn shines brilliantly once more. We're shot through space in the blink of an eye.
Thud! I land on a table hitting my tailbone, and only a slightly churned stomach this time. "Ow! You should work on teleport others more carefully, Twi!" She looks at me like a child who's been caught red-handed, blushing once again.
"Hehe, sorry." She looks over to a throne in the room, looking a little more serious.
"Wait, is this the Castle of the Two Sisters?" I say in surprise.
"Wait... How did you know? Oh, nevermind, tell me later. We have important business." She walks silently toward the two thrones ahead. Maybe this is the meeting place that was spoken of. I get off the table I was so awkwardly positioned on to follow her. I look around the room slowly behind. Well detailed tapestries lie ahead, above the two thrones. The entire room looks incredibly symmetrical. Detailed columns meet the tall ceiling about 50 feet high. Various corridors lie on both sides. I'm left wondering if this is what throne rooms are like in my world, being that I'm but a plain citizen of America.
"No! This can't be happening!" Twilight shrieks. She levitates a scroll in front of her with a grim look. "Luna's been kidnapped by Celestia!" I suddenly remember Nightmare Moon. This is exactly what happened last time... in reverse.
"Twilight, we need to find her! Where does it say she is?"
Twilight, turns to look at me, almost in tears. "It doesn't say. Maybe you should read it." I'm reluctant to grab the scroll levitated over to me. I pick it up and read it aloud:
"Dear my once faithful student. I see you've gone against the wishes of your master. If you want me to release Luna from her prison in Tartarus, have the human join me at my bedchamber in my Castle in Canterlot. If he can please me well enough, I'll release her."
I don't know rather to be happy the plan is still possible, angry the Princess sent her sister to such a harsh place, or sad that Twilight is on the verge of crying. This letter, it's definitely stirred up some anger regardless. "Twilight!" I exclaim to a mild shout. "I'm going to fix this, or die trying! This is absolutely terrible, I can't let things be as they are."
Twilight's face rises from the floor, looking at me with a tear gliding down her cheek. "Will you really? You mean it?"
I reply to her with confidence. "If it's one thing I'm good for, I never break my promises. Let's go twilight, it's getting dark." She nods, and walks down the stairs to where I've been standing. Her head lowers, horn glows in a violet light, and suddenly flashes once more. With a magical 'Pop!', we are inside the Treehouse.
"Over here is your bed, you should probably rest for tomorrow." A hay bed. Never have I slept on one before, but this might be an interesting experience. I plop down into it. Scratchy. Ugh, I hope I'll get just a little bit of shut-eye. I roll over and try to fall to sleep.
To be continued.
