Twilight's Task

                                                                         =1 week until departure=

Twilight is sitting in her library organizing her books in the Equestrian History section as Spike walks in holding a paper with a golden C on it. "Twilight I just got another letter from Princess Celestia, not sure what its about but I guess you better read it" Spike says with a bored expression on his face.

Twilight takes the letter and begins reading it. "The Princess says she wants me to meet the 5 guards from the Crystal Empire in Canterlot ASAP, well I guess i better be going there now, can you hold down the fort while im gone?" With an encouraged look on his face "Of course!" "OK, ill be back as soon as possible" Twilight says as she begins walking to the door "If anything goes wrong ask the girls, OK be back soon!" As Twilight finishes closing the door to the library.

                                                                               =At Canterlot=

"I came as quick as I could, you said I should come ASAP to meet the 5 royal guards?"

"Ah yes, the guards should be here any minute, and by the way how is your list going?"

"Just got 4 more Ponyville civilians to sign up a few days ago, so the count is up to 29 ponies coming with, im just not sure ill be able to get 50 ponies together by the end of the week." Twilight says with a discouraged look on her face.

Celestia places a hoof on Twilight's shoulder while having an encouraging look on her face " Don't worry, I just stated a Maximum number, not necessarily, the required amount, its fine if you don't get 50."

"OK, im feeling a bit better, thank you Princess" Twilight says working on a smile.

"Oh, and by the way, how are your friends taking the news?"

"Well, I actually haven't told them yet" says Twilight looking slightly away from the Princess. "Why haven't you yet?" "Well I'm kinda scared of telling them, I'm not sure how they'll take just packing up and leaving home like that, especially Applejack and her Family, with their duty on the farm and all." Twilight says with the same discouraging look again. "Well, you can never be sure until you ask, because things you never expect to happen can always happen, life is just full of surprises!" the Princess says attempting to cheer up her old student. "Well I guess but, do you think they'll go along with it?" "Well, I do have someone that can help with that be we can talk about that later, the guards are just arriving now!" The Princess says quickly looking to the door while looking more professionally.

Looking to the door Twilight sees 5 Royal Guards all wearing golden armor one which Twilight recognizes by the name of "Flash Sentry" while she turns away with a slight blush on her face. "Welcome to Canterlot, as im sure you are aware you 5 have been chosen to accompany Princess Twilight as she ventures to colonize lands beyond our borders, any questions?" Princess Celestia finishes. "Yes, approximately how far will we be traveling?" one of the guards at the back asks."We will be traveling through the Griffin Kingdom, and the following the border around the Dragon Kingdom about halfway then go out about 100 miles, the trip will take approximately 5 days, anything else?" Twilight says finishing. "How many will be going with us?" Flash Sentry says with a curious look on his face. "Right now we have 29, will that go up, probably." Twilight says quickly answering his question.

"I guess that's it" the one who asked the first question says. "You 5 will be staying her in the castle for the next week until you leave, one of my guards will be here shortly to escort you there, feel free to have a look around the castle" Princess Celestia says re-entering the room. "You are free to head home and continue planning, and I suggest you begin telling your friends about this trip" Celestia says facing Twilight. As Twilight is walking out one of her wings accidentally brushes one of Flash's. After Twilight is out of the door a slight blush appears on Flash's face. One of the other guards in the back notices this "Does our little Flashy have a crush?" " I don't know what your talking about!" Flash says quickly hiding his blush.
