"Pinkie, this has gone on for far too long. We've given you five years. Five years to get this potion done! But what progress have you made? None! Absolutely none!" Mr. Cake shouted. Pinkie externally flinched, and took a few steps back.

"B-but Mr. Cake, I have made progress! Lots! And I'm so close, I just know it!" She attempted to sound optimistic, but she knew where this conversation was headed. Mr. Cake sighed, and slowly began to pace back and forth.

"Look, Pinkie, I know how much this means to you, but I think this foalish dream needs to end. You've completely stopped doing any work around here, leaving it all to Mrs. Cake and I. And now that we've got the twins, it's incredibly draining on us. As much as it pains me to say this, if you don't start earning your keep, we're going to find someone else to occupy the upstairs. Someone who actually works." He said quietly. Pinkie closed her eyes and bit her lip.

"Alright, Mr. Cake. Let me just go clean up my room a bit, and I'll be back down here for work." She spoke slowly, and lowered her head in defeat. Mr. Cake seemed to smile a bit at this, and said,

"I'm glad you're finally seeing it my way." He then walked off, leaving Pinkie alone. When he was gone, Pinkie raced up to her room without a moment wasted.

I've probably only got about ten minutes before he starts to suspect anything, so I've gotta make this quick. Pinkie thought, and got to work. She seated herself at her 'Table of Science', as she liked to call it, and began to review her notes. It's not that I've got the wrong ingrediants, I just haven't got the amounts right. Hmm... Maybe  if I just add a little more Wonderflonium. She picked up a vial that read Do Not Bounce, and poured it into a light blue mixture. It sizzled as it mixed with the Wonderflonium, and began to emit steam. An odd stench burned her nose, which resembled that of dirty aquarium water and a hint of bleach. But the smell faded as fast as it appeared, and the once blue mixture swirled into a lime green. This was it. This was what was going to put her name in the history books. She quickly jotted down the new amount of Wonderflonium, and began to take notes.

"Interesting color change- probably due to the change in Ph levels... Abnormal radiation levels... Emits steam... This all spells out success!" She exclaimed, and poured a few drops of the strange concoction into a shot glass. Of course she had no problem experimenting on herself. After all, it was a previous test that gave the bubbly mare her Pinkie Sense.

Well, this is it. She thought. "When I look back, I will always recall..." She whispered to herself. "Moment for moment..." She began to crescendo, "This was the moment. The greatest moment of...Them...All!" She quickly chugged down the glass of liquid. It left the most vile taste on her tongue, but she knew that in the end it would all be worth it. This was what would bring the earth ponies to glory. No, it would not give them wings or a horn, but it would bring out their inner magic, letting them wield it just as the unicorns do. Pinkie suddenly began to feel ill, and snatched the pencil and notebook off of her desk. "Feeling nauseous and... Oh, lightheaded. Beginning to feel a- AH- burning in the chest! Spine tingling... Head...Spinning- AGH!" That was all she could write, before darkness overcame her.
