Baltimare, Equestria

I didn’t stop running as I got into Baltimare as I ran with Michael in my arms, limp as a dead dog in them. My tears were starting to blur my vision as my body burned and my breath was heavier than anytime before in my life. I kept running down the streets, taking the turns at the signs that led towards the Golden Hooves Hospital in central Baltimare. I didn’t stop for anything even the carriages that were still on the streets at this time of day.

The few creatures that were on the sidewalks stood aside against the buildings as I blurred past them. Eventually I could hardly see where I was going but the large cross on the front of the hospital was clearly visible even though it was heavily blurred. I wiped my eyes on my shoulder as I ran into the entrance of the hospital and towards the emergency room. “HELP! PLEASE!” I exclaimed with what little breath I had as I ran into the room.

It took one glance from the nurse to know exactly how bad it was as she started yelling to get help, I ignored her as I sat Michael down on one of the empty stretchers. I couldn’t speak as I tried to regain my breath as I cried over him as his breathing had completely stopped now. I put my hand over his heart but I felt nothing, not a single beat as I held it there. I looked back as several doctors rushed over and retrieved him and the stretcher, pushing him down the hallway towards an operating room.

I felt another doctor trying to pull me away as I tried to follow him. I can’t remember what I had yelled as they rolled my little brother away from me, but I knew the exact feeling I had felt. I eventually broke free of the doctors grasp only to be tackled by two others, I strained to try and get away from them and chase after my brother before I felt a sharp pain in my leg. I still tried to struggle but found myself slowly getting sleepier and sleepier as I lifted my arm one last time towards the door they had taken Michael through. “No...please...don’t take him away…” I managed to cry out as I finally blacked out.
