The sum of our sins

Twilight stood outside the clock shop, holding a bouquet of lavender flowers in one hoof and a heart shaped box of chocolates magically floating around her. Today was the day she was going to ask out the stallion she had been eyeing for months. A young stallion named “Time Turner. She walked up to the door and she placed her hoof upon it with the intention of knocking. But right as she was about too, her emotions took hold of her body and she dropped everything and ran off towards the castle she had come to call home.

She got to the foot of her castle and leaned against it in a rather depressing manner. She gave a sigh and entered her domain. The clean fresh smell of mint flooded her nostrils as she walked through the first floor of her crystal fortress. Flying up the diamond embedded stairs up to the living complexes. A long hall way of suites is what came into her vision, as she explored through the alternate living quarter for each of her friends. She knocked on Rainbow Dash’s door, and instantly got a response as the door opened.

“What’s up egg-head?”  Rainbow dash said as she poked her head out. She was dressed in a sports bra, and had sports tape on her fore legs. She was sweating profusely.

“Are you exercising?” Twilight questioned. Glancing in revealed a large punching bag hanging from the ceiling, with oddly enough a marker drawing of a dumb looking Terik drawn on it.

“Yeah, I was getting a work-out in before we went to the fair.”

“Speaking of which...” Twilight glanced at the clock placed in the center of the hall. “The others should be there right now. We better get going.”

“Whatever you say princess. Hey- Weren’t you suppose to have a date to this?”

Twilight laughed at this question. It was a laugh that dripped with shame, but laugh non the less.

“Things usually don’t work out as you plan.”

“Ah, what a shame.”

They walked out of the castle, talking and joking to each other. They worked their way through out town, until they reached the fair which prominently sat at the center of town, like a cherry on the top of a sundae.

They both wandered around until they saw a group of mares sitting on a bench.

“Hey guys, hows it hanging?” Rainbow dash exclaimed while walking towards the group.

“Howd’y their sugacube.” Applejack said walking forward, with a confident but humble smile.

“What took you so long?”  Rarity questioned while drinking a smoothie.

“Oh- Ah Twilight had boy trouble.” Rainbow said with out thinking. Causing Twilight to begin to angrily blush.

They all began to laugh and they left to go enjoy their time together. The day passed on in a euphoric blend of smiles and excitement. The hours flew by and the adrenaline died down.

They were all seated eating fast food and passing stories on and off of each other. The sun was starting to set and the moon would soon come. But just then a dark figure came from the shadows to greet them, Luna did always like subtle entrances.

“Hello Princess Sparkle.” Luna said walking towards their seats. Her voice was deadpan. It was quite obvious that she was not happy about seeing Twilight.

“Hello Luna. Have you come on official business, or are you just here to act resentful towards me again?” Twilight asked with her own profound resentment to the Princess of the Night.

“This time  it’s official. There has been a sighting of a powerful artifact and my sister wants us to investigate. The rest is confidential and will be explained in privacy.”

“No it won’t. Your going to tell us all what this is about. My friends are just as worthy of my status as I am. They deserve to know the same as I  know.” Twilight exclaimed. If this were Celestia she wouldn’t have talked back. But this was Luna; the alicorn who has done nothing but acted cold and cruel ever since Twilight saved her from Tirek. “Right guys?" She turned to her friends who were all hesitant and nervous of the situation. Their faces screamed: What are you doing Twilight?

“Right!” Pinkie exclaimed without a second thought.

Luna pursed her lips, and started to look like she was going to scream. How dare this whelp order the master of the night.  She who has only been a Alicorn for a year and a half. Luna opened her mouth with fire in her eyes, but then slowly calmed down. “Fine.” She told them everything from yesterday. The Seed, Tsuchinoko and Celestia’s fear.

“A new threat huh?” Applejack questioned.

“We’ll take it down! No worries! We’ll just use our rainbow powers and go ‘Zap’! The end, we win!” Pinkie said enthusiastically.

“Well you can probably stop it right now... It’s not dangerous right now but...” Fluttershy said as she trailed off mumbling to herself.

“If we want to stop it, we have to leave now.” Luna ordered.

“Right just let me-” Twilight was stopped by a hoof .

“I’m coming with you guys Twi” Rainbow dash said.

“Are you sure Rainbow?”

“Of course. Somebody's got to pick you up when you fall. If you’re walking into a battle then I want to be by your side."

Twilight and Luna nodded, and all three of them took flight.
