The sum of our sins

Twilight observed her surroundings, in front of her was Nightmare moon. The mare who tried too destroy the world four years ago and almost succeeded. But it won’t be like that again, she was stronger this time. To the right was the seed and the traitor. Why is he doing this? Trying to unleash this unknown force across exitance.  And behind her is her friend who is under going the same hell that Luna went through and might still be going through. She needed to figure out what she was going to do.  Destroy the seed, fight Luna, or save her friend. She took a signal second to decide. Twilight turned a sharp one eighty and went to pick up Rainbow dash. Her friend was more important then any of this.

But Rainbow dash was standing up straight, “Don’t  worry about me. I’ve felt worse.” She said with a cocky smile. She was sweating and  her legs were shaking. “I’ll take care of seed A-hole over there. Try to knock some sense into Luna.”

“Rainbow you don’t look so good, we should ge-” Twilight attempted to plead for an escape but it was cut short.

“And if you even think of trying to leave, then I’ll have to knock some sense into you!” Rainbow winked at Twilight.  Twilight’s confidence boasted and she nodded, turning to Nightmare moon.

Nightmare moon looked bored, her eyes were only focused on Twilight though. She smiled as Twilight turned to her. “I’ve waited a long for this. A one on one fight to the death, you and me mutt.”

“Oh, mutt? That’s a new one, tell me, do you call me that because I had to work for my title as a princess? Or is it because your sister treats me like her daughter?” Twilight said with anger in her voice. Nightmare moon chuckled at the remark and then took a fighting stance.

“No! You’ll protect the seed! Do as I command!”  Tsuchinoko yelled nervously, he did not know what he was doing, he might not even know why Luna is under the seed’s control.

“Quiet fool!” Nightmare moon screamed. “I am no puppet! I am the true princess and what I say goes! And I say the defective princess dies!”

Twilight tensed up, she was really going to do it. She wants to kill her... Twilight began to shake... But she wasn’t scared. She was excited. “Fine but don’t you think this place is a bit... Cramped?”

Nightmare moon smiled at this comment and nodded. Their horns glowed and they vanished, only to reappear outside, in the center of the badlands.

“This spacious enough for you mutt?”

“Very... But before we start let me ask you something... Luna. Is this because of  the  seed’s power? Or is it the same old story of jealousy that plagues your life, that caused you to betray us?”

Nightmare moon was surprised by the question, and glared off to the side. “Twilight Sparkle... I have lived my whole life under the power of another, always. First under the power of Discord, then the power of my sister. Four years ago I was freed from control of others, only to fall under another. Your’s. You freed me, from my eternal prison. Defeated Discord, beat Chrysalis, Sombra, then finally Tirek. It should have been me... Everytime you help me you cast a larger shadow over me. I... I hated you from the first day. You stole my honor that day, by saving me. I will not be in anyponies shadow ever again!” Nightmare moon said with a burning fire in her eyes.

“Luna... By helping Tsuchinoko free the God’s Sin, you are subjecting yourself to his power. You’re not thinking straight!”

“No, that’s were your wrong. Once it is freed I will kill Tsuchinoko and steal the God’s Sin’s power!”

“You’re insane... And I’m just going to have to set you straight!” Twilight screamed. She stood on her hind legs and flew to the sky. She tensed her body up and concentrated on her magic. She felt it building up, and like a imploding fire, her magic erupted. Her rainbow powers activated and her magic power, speed and strength increased ten-fold.

Nightmare moon flinched at the sudden power boost, but then smiled. “The gift from the tree of harmony will not help you here, mutt!” She flew up and tried to strike a blow to Twilight’s gut only for her to miss. Twilight vanished and reappeared right next to her, landing Twilight’s elbow right on her cheek. Twilight vanished again, Nightmare moon desperately searched for her. Reappearing again and punching her square in the jaw, and thusly disappearing. “That’s it!” Nightmare moon screamed, flooded with pain and rage. She lifted up her hooves and sent out dark blue lights that were shaped like spears. They flooded the area and hit everything. Twilight reappeared with a cut across her fore-leg and a damaged wing.

Nightmare moon dived to catch her.  Twilight’s couldn’t vanish any longer thanks to the damages, so she took the strike head on. Nightmare Moons punch impacted Twilight’s chest and Twilight was sent flying into a platoon. Twilight was hazy but when she regained her sight, she could see Nightmare moon charging up a attack. Twilight clutched her muscles and formed a protective barrier over her left hoof. And when Nightmare moon shot it at her Twilight, swiped it out of the way causing the blast to bounce off her left hoof and hit another platoon in the distance. Twilight looked at Nightmare moon who seemed annoyed. “That all you got?!” Twilight screamed.

Nightmare moons rage built up, and she flew even higher into the sky. “Fine then! You want to see what I got?! Then you and this planet will be sent to oblivion!” She raised her right hoof into the sky and grabbed it with her left and started to build up her magic.

Twilight looked upon her, and was shocked when she figured out what she was doing. Nightmare moon wanted Twilight dead that’s for  sure, but was she really willing to destroy the earth just to do so? Twilight didn’t want to take any chances. So she stood on her hind legs and spread her arms out. In each hoof she formed a ball of unmeasurable energy. This was a ability that Twilight learned from Celestia when she was young; it was called the ‘Solar ray’.

Nightmare Moon finished charging her attack forming a ball of energy. She pointed it at Twilight and screamed out the attack’s name, “Moonlit Scythe!”

Twilight now facing down the giant ball of energy hurtling at her, slammed both her hoof’s together and screamed, “Solar ray!”

The two attacks collided and were fighting to overcome each other. Twilight’s attacked started to over come her competitor’s and the ray of energy hit Nightmare moon with full force. Causing her to fall out of the sky.

But Twilight wasn’t finished there, Twilight flew as fast as she could to Nightmare moon’s falling body and clutched both of her hooves together and slammed Nightmare moon into the ground.

Nightmare moon had exhausted herself and couldn’t move. Twilight walked up to her and closed her eyes and allowed her horn to glow with the spell that freed her friends from the grips of Discord. Hopefully it would work. She placed her horn onto Nightmare moon’s fore head and began to flood it with happy memories, of Celestia, Nightmare night and all the ponies she helped. Nightmare moon’s fur turned back to a Dark blue and her hair became denser. Everything was back to normal and Luna had returned back to normal. Twilight looked to the cave where her friend was and took flight.

Tsuchinoko backed away from Rainbow Dash in a nervous manner. “You do not know what are doing.”

Rainbow dash just gave out a huff and said, “I know that you let that thing try to control me. I know that somehow you’re controlling Princess Luna and I know you’re trying to unleash something called the God’s Sin onto Equestria. Am I missing anything?!”

“Well no but-”

“I thought so.” Rainbow dash jolted for the old  pony and punched him in the gut causing him to fall flat on his back. Rainbow then flew up to the pillar that housed the Seed of sin. She gripped the seed with both her hooves and began to yank at it.

“Wait!” Tsuchinoko screamed, he looked desperate, scared. “Just hear me out first!”

Rainbow turned to the old stallion, “What’s there left to say? Your evil, the end.”

Tsuchinoko, “Haven’t you ever cursed at the gods? For all the suffering in the world. I have, and that’s why my plan must go through. My wife and son died a long time ago, in a forest fire. I pleaded to the gods, to give them back! But no one answered... So I swore that I will make the god’s pay for ignoring me. Ignoring all of us! I remembered the story of the God’s Sin and knew that was my way to vengeance, the gods would be killed by there greatest mistake. What god would let this world go with so much suffering?! They must pay!”

“Oh I get it.” Rainbow Dash said with a  comforting smile.

“Truly?”

“No.” Rainbow dash said with a angry glare. She turned back to the seed got onto her hind legs, and charged up her inner power, unleashing it into her rainbow powers. She then grabbed the seed and began to pull with all her strength. The roots on the ceiling began to give in and the seed was torn from it’s pedestal. Rainbow Dash then threw it onto the ground.

Rainbow dash jumped up and began too glide down, but something began to happened. The Seed began to pulse rapidly, like a heart beat. Then white smoke began to leak out, and something from the inside was clawing  it’s way out.  The seeds exterior began to peel away to reveal, a being of immense power. It was standing on two legs, it’s body was completely black and very slimy. It had two claw like hands, it had no hair or skin for that matter, instead it had a rocky texture to it.

The thing turned to Rainbow dash and revealed it had three small bored looking grey eyes and a overbite with fangs on it’s jaw, protruding from it’s mouth.  It raised it’s hand at Rainbow dash and pointed at her. As if to say “You’re first.”
