The Old and The New

REGULAR POV

   After what seemed like forever (even though I knew it was only five minutes or so), Rainbow Dash came back into view with a lavender pegasus by her side. Upon coming closer, I realized she was not a pegasus, but an alicorn. The duo landed upon my cloud, and the lavender one started to speak in a voice that was optimistic and more childish than what you would expect from royalty. "Hello, and welcome to Ponyville. my name is Princess...''

   BAM! I was attacked by another memory-slam, this one so powerful It knocked me off of my cloud and sent me plummeting down to the ground! I immediately opened my wings, but kept them in position to catch a wind instead of mindlessly flapping. As the ground rushed towards me, or rather I rushed towards it, I prayed to I don't know who for a wind, breeze, anything! Desperate, I was suddenly lifted enough from my death path by a breeze to continue going upwards and land safely back on my cloud.

   Rainbow flew up next to me from below, talking a mile a minute in my ear. "Oh my gosh, that was soo awesome! There you were, plummeting to the hard earth. But did you freak out? Oh no! You kept your wings straight. You were all like, I got this." Upon saying this, she leaned against an imaginary wall with her arms crossed, flicking her forelock out of her face. "Of course," she continued," your friendly neighborhood Rainbow Dash was there ready to save you if you lost control, and I was starting to make a breeze for you when there you were, lifting off of the slightest little wind. I then started to race you back up to the cloud, and you beat me! Sure, you had a head start but I am never beaten by anypony! You scorched me!"

    "I believe" stated Twilight Sparkle, "that we should now continue as usual. My name is-"

    "Princess Twilight Sparkle." I added, and was was glad to know this. And I now knew much more! "You were Princess Celestia's prized pupil. And Luna, Princess Luna, is Celestia's sister! And your brother is Shining Armor, captain of the royal guard, and is married to Princess Cadence who rules over the Crystal Empire!" The Crystal Empire... there was definitely something important there. Something worthy of a memory-slam. But what could it be? I also knew more about Luna, the alicorn Who's name was the only thought I had when my brain yielded no memories at all.

   It was decided that we should go back to Twilights house to talk about me instead of standing on the cloud where someppony could get hurt. I made observations about the other winged beings as we embarked on our short flight. The cyan mare was more sturdy on her wings than the lavender, suggesting that she had flown longer. I also noticed I was shorter than both Twilight and Rainbow, and they looked older. I decided to look in to this observation upon landing and walking into Twilights house.

   The Princess lived in a library! The shelves were filed to the brim with books. I trotted around, seeing every kind of fiction and non-fiction genre there is! It was amazing, a single place with more information then ponies would ever be able to remember by themselves! What really caught my attention, though, was the spell books. I had never attempted magic in my memory, and decided to now try and preform a spell out of curiosity. Picking a book at random, I decided to preform the first spell I saw. Noticing the plain wooden chair in the  corner, I prepared. Feet set and even. Horn pointed at the chair. Take a deep breath. Fire! My black magic hit the chair. It transformed into a curvy plush chair with a black frame and a single red cushion. I was very impressed by my horn work, but Twilight was not.

   "My favorite chair! What did you do to it?" I felt uncomfortable and ashamed. I decided that being honest was the best solution. Besides, I can just switch it back.

   "I was interested in your spell books. I had never attempted a spell before in my memory so I thought I would try one. I'll just switch it back."

   Carrying out this action was easy.

   Twilight eyed me suspiciously. "You have a lot of explaining to do after I send this letter to the Princess and she comes for you." Well then, that doesn't sound scary at all.
