College Romance

It was mid-afternoon and visiting hours were just starting. I stared out the window, hoping that my mom talking with Tavi would help things a little bit. My mind was still being haunted by my cruel, unjustifiable actions. I began to wish that I hadn't survived that crash, at least then I still would've had Tavi's love. I don't want to live with this guilt anymore.

Tears began to run down my face, quickly being wiped away, "Don't cry Vinyl. You're alright."

My head quickly whipped around to stare at my visitor, "What the fuck are you doing here Neon? Haven't you caused enough trouble for me?"

"Hey, I don't remember hearing any complaining when we were in the tent."

"If I could move my arms I'd be stabbing you with my IV needle you fucking bastard. Because of you I lost the one person I thought I could be happy with."

"Because of me? Hello, last I checked you were the one who made the first move, so don't go blaming this on me."

"GO AWAY NEON!" my rage began to flare up worse with every passing second he was here.

"Calm down babe."

"I'm not your babe."

"Whatever you want to believe."

"What are you even doing here in the first place? Don't you have someone else you can bother all day?"

"I came here because I wanted to see how you were doing."

"How does it look like I'm doing?"

"Well you're alive, so I'd say you're doing pretty well."

"Don't you even care that I lost someone very special to me because of what you did?"

"Not really, you're not the first girl to cheat on their lover with me. I've gotten used to their brokenhearted rants against me."

"Just get the fuck out of here Neon. I don't want to..."

My eyes nearly bugged out of my head as he started kissing me. I tried fighting back, but there was nothing I could do while wrapped up like a burrito. He finally pulled back after a moment and smiled at me, "Admit it, you still have feelings for me."

"I do not! At least, not anymore I don't. Not after what we did cost me more than you'll ever know."

The doctor tapped on the open door, "You've got more visitors Ms. Scratch."

Neon looked back at me, "I guess I'm out of here. See ya later babe."

As he was walking back I called after him, "I'M NOT YOUR BABE YOU SICK FUCK!" I looked over at the doctor, "Can you please put him on the list of people that I don't want to visit me?"

He gave me a quick nod and left the room as my other visitors came in. To my surprise, Tavi came by with my mom and little brother. Tavi sat down on the chair beside me and looked down at the ground. My mom pulled up another chair and sat down in front of me, "Vinyl, sweetie. I talked with Octavia yesterday not too long after I finished visiting with you. She was really upset about what you had done. But I managed to get her to come with me and visit you. Isn't that right Octavia?"

Tavi looked at me for a second and the back down to the ground, "Yeah."

"Look, what I want you two to do is work some things out. Now, I'm not expecting you two to get back together right off that bat. But, I at least want you two to figure out how you two are going to overcome this problem."

I looked over at Tavi, a small tear rolling down my face again, "Tavi, I'm really sorry about what happened. Truly I am. I don't expect you to forgive me so easily, nor do I expect you to want to talk to me right now. But, what I want most right now, is to work things out."

Tavi took a deep breath and looked at me, "My only question is; why would you do something like that?"

"I-I honestly don't know. I guess it was more the fact that I still had some feelings for Neon that overwhelmed me."

"Do you still have feelings for him now?"

"Not anymore. Not after it cost me the one person that I truly want to be happy with."

Tavi looked back to the ground, "Vinyl, I-I'm willing to give you another chance, as long as you make one very important promise."

"What's that?"

"I want you to promise me that you won't go to any more parties with Nightlock and Neon."

"You don't have to ask me twice."

Tavi smiled at me, "Good, but I want you to know that you're going to have to earn my trust back. I may still love you Vinyl, but that doesn't mean I'm going to let you off that easily."

I smiled back at her, "I know Tavi, and I promise that I'll do whatever it takes to make it up to you. You're the best thing that has ever happened to me Tavi, and I won't let anyone else come between us again."

Tavi's smile got wider and she leaned forward to kiss me, causing my little brother to make gagging noises. Tavi laughed and looked over at him, "What, does the little Casanova want a little kiss too?"

Tex looked away from her, a deep blush growing across his face, "N-No..."

I laughed at the look on his face, "Then why's you're face red Tex? Don't tell me you're starting to fall in love with Tavi too."

His head jolted back to face me, "I am not."

Tavi smiled and gave him a little kiss on the forehead, "I'm sorry Tex, you're a little too young for me. But hey, if you ever need any advice on girls, I'll tell you whatever you want to know."

Tex fell completely silent as his faced turned impossibly red. Mom smiled and looked over at me, "Now Vinyl, you understand that Octavia still has yet to fully forgive you right?"

"I know mom."

"And you know that means that you're going to have to work hard to gain her trust."

"I know mom, Tavi made it very clear."

Mom giggled a bit and put her hand on my cheek, "I know sweetie, I just wanted to make sure that you understood."

"I understand mom."

"Good."

The doctor came back in, "Visiting hours are over."

My mom picked up my little brother and smiled at me, "I love you Vinyl."

"I love you too mom. And Tavi, I promise that I will do my best for you."

She smiled at me and kissed me one more time, "I know you will. I love you Vinyl."

"I love you too Tavi."
