College Romance

I opened my eyes, immediately blinded by a bright light. I tried lifting my hand up to shade my eyes, but it wouldn't move. I tried moving my other arm, it too wouldn't move. I started to panic slightly, my heavy breaths coming in painful huffs.

A curtain opened up next to me and there was some random guy standing next to me, "Calm yourself Ms. Scratch, you don't want to injure yourself any worse than you already are."

"W-What's going on? W-Where am I? Who are you?" I began to get even more paniced.

"Relax Ms. Scratch, I'm Dr. Issac. You were in a horrible car accident a few days ago. You were brought here to the Canterlot Medical Center where we had to conduct multiple surgeries on you. I have to say that you are lucky to still be alive after that crash, you honestly should've died when you collided with that fence."

My heart sank again, and my voice began to get shaky, "I-I should've...died?"

He gave a slight nod, smiling once he looked back at me, "Don't be so sad though. You're still alive and that's what matters."

"Why can't I move anything? What happened to my body?"

"You suffered fractures to your ribs, arms, and spinal column. You also had a concussion, slight hemorrhaging in the brain, as well as compound fractures in both of your legs. You're not paralyzed if that's what you were wondering. The reason you can't move is because you're in a full body cast."

"W-What about the other driver in the wreck? What happened to him?"

"She made it out a lot better than you, but she's alright."

"Where is she?"

A small voice came from right behind me, "I'm right here Vinyl?"

My jaw dropped and I turned my head as best I could to face her, "T-Tavi...Y-You were..." Tears began running down my face, as my guilt came flooding back over me.

"I started getting worried about you so I tried to figure out where the party was at so I could check on you. Though, I'm wondering why you didn't answer any of my calls."

I let out a deep sigh and turned back to face the doctor, "Can we have a few minutes alone please?"

He gave me a nod and walked out of the room.

Tavi looked at me with a worried look in her eyes, "What's wrong Vinyl?"

I turned back to face her, tears still flowing down my face, "I'm sorry Tavi, I didn't mean for this to happen. It's all my fault. I let myself become to wrapped up in what I was doing. I never meant to let it happen. I'm sorry."

"Wait, wait, wait...Slow down Vinyl. Take a deep breath and tell me what happened."

I took an unhelpful deep breath and looked into Tavi's eyes, "Tavi...you're going to hate me for what I'm about to tell you. And I will fully understand if you never want to have anything more to do with me. You deserve better than me."

She began to look even more worried now, "W-What do you mean?"

"Tavi, when I was at the party...I...I...I slept with Neon."

The room fell completely silent as my words hung in the air. There it was, out in the open, Tavi knows that I cheated on her with Neon. I looked away from her, ready for what ever hellfire she was going to send my way. I wouldn't blame her though. She would never do anything like that to me, she's the most loyal girl I know, and I took advantage of her.

I looked back at Tavi as tears began to flow down her face, "Y-You mean..."

"Yes."

"How could you Vinyl? How could you do this to me? That's fucked up. Did you even think about me before you went on to whore yourself out to him? Did you even think about how this would effect me?"

"I'm sorry."

"Sorry? Is that the only thing you can say to me? You go out and have sex with someone else, and all you can say is sorry? What the fuck is wrong with you? You know what, fuck it. I'm done. You're just like all the other girls I've been with; curtsy, suirtsy, then arrivederci. Don't even bother coming back to the apartment to get your stuff when you recover, it'll all be in the trash where it belongs.

I thought I could trust you Vinyl. I thought this time was going to be different. I thought that you'd finally be that one girl who wouldn't take advantage of me. But I guess I was wrong. You're nothing but a lying, cheating, fucked up whore like the rest of them. I can't believe I ever trusted you."

She got up from her seat and stomped out of the room. I straightened my head on my pillow and stared at the ceiling. I wasn't surprised by how she reacted. She had every right in the world to act the way she did. I'm the one who didn't have the right to take advantage of her. I didn't have the right to let myself cheat on her.

I'm nothing but a whore, I thought to myself. You had everything you could've ever wanted with Tavi; love, happiness, and someone who was always there for you no matter what. And what did you do? You went out of your way to forget about what's important just to get yourself off. I hope you're happy with yourself, because you let the best thing that ever happened to you slip through your fingers.

My thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door as the doctor peered in for a moment, "You've got two more visitors Ms. Scratch."

"I'm not in the mood to talk to anybody right now."

A familiar voice came through the crack in the door, "Not even to talk to your mother and brother."

The doctor opened the door and let them in the room. My little brother looked at me, "What happened to you Vinyl?"

I looked away as tears began to stream down my face again.

Mom sat herself in the chair in front of me and looked at me, "I saw Octavia just a second ago. She was really angry about something. Is everything alright between you two?"

I shook my head and looked away, "I don't want to talk about it mom."

"How can I help you if you don't talk to me about it?"

"I just don't want to talk about it."

"Honey, look, I'm here to help you no matter what. So you can talk to me about whatever is going on between you two."

I took a deep breath and looked over at her again, "Okay, I'll tell you. I saw Neon again a few days ago and he invited me to a party that same night and I went to that party. While I was there, I ended up sleeping with Neon. I never meant for it to happen. I don't know what came over me. I told Tavi not too long ago about it, that's why she was so angry. She was the best thing to ever happen to me, and I blew it. I've lost everything now; my stuff, my home, but the worst thing that I lost was her."

Mom sighed and looked at me, "Listen Vinyl, you have to be the one to fix this with Octavia. I'm not going to do everything for you. But what I will do is talk to her and try to at least get her to let you stay in the apartment."

"Thanks mom."

"It's no problem sweetie, you know there's nothing that I wouldn't help you with."

Before I could say anything else, the doctor came back into the room, "I'm sorry to interrupt, but visiting hours are over."

Mom got up from her seat and gave me a kiss on the cheek, "I love you Vinyl."

"I love you too mom."

"I'll talk to her today, and when I see you tomorrow I'll let you know what happens."

She walked out of the room with my little brother close on her heels and the doctor closed the door, leaving me completely alone. Alone and broken hearted, the way I deserve to be.
