We made it to the center of the camp and set our bags down. Everyone looked exhausted and ready to head home before they die. Me and Tavi looked at each other and smiled, I took her hand and we looked back up to the podium where Mr. Melody was tapping on the microphone.

"May I have everybody's attention?" Everyone fell silent and looked up at the podium, "Today is the final day of Camp Crystal Lake, the day that a lot of you have been looking forward to from the start. We are proud of how well each and everyone of you have done during your time here, and we expect good things from you all in the future. I've seen thousands of campers go in and out of those gates, and I've seen each and every one of them become someone truly inspiring. I've seen kids who've had nothing to lose, achieve amazing success. I've seen children whose lives have been changed because of being here. Now, I didn't expect you to enjoy everything we did during our time here. But I hope, that all of you have learned a lot about becoming outstanding citizens. As you leave here today, I want you all to remember, that it is not important what you have done here, but what you have learned here. Thank you for being such wonderful campers. We look forward to seeing how you all do in the future."

He stepped off the podium and Mrs. Melody soon took her place behind the podium, "I could not have said it better myself. Like my husband, I am proud of you accomplishments. I am proud of everything that you have achieved. And most of all, I am proud of the outstanding people you have become. Today, we give honor to those of you who have shown the most in their efforts to achieve so much. So we'd like to give those people an award for their outstanding achievements."

Everyone's ears perked up to listen for who's names are called for the awards. As the names were being called, I began to think of how soon I would be separated from Tavi. I had no idea where she lived, where she spent her time after camp was over, or how to go visit her. The only thing I knew was how to get in contact with her. I began to worry that I might not ever get to see her after this. I began to worry that this was just going to be another summer fling. I looked at Tavi who was paying attention to the names being called out for the awards, I could feel the tears filling my eyes. This was going to be the end of our relationship, the end to what was perhaps the most important part of my life.

I let out a deep sigh and looked back up to the podium as the last award was being called out, "And finally, the award for most outstanding camper goes to...Vinyl Scratch."

Everyone looked at me and applause roared throughout the crowd. I silently made my way to the podium, as everyone congratulated me, gave me a thumbs up, or patted me on the back. I walked up to Mrs. Melody and she handed me my award. I took the award, shook her hand, and thanked her for it.

Before I could walk off, Mrs. Melody stopped me, "Don't you want to give us a speech?"

I looked back at the crowd and then back at Mrs. Melody, "O-Okay..." I walked over to the mic and looked at everyone staring at me, "Well...um...first I would like to say thank you for the award, it really means a lot to me. This has been by far one of the best summers that I've had, and it's all thanks to Octavia. She's been there when I needed her most. She was there when I was alone, she's been a really amazing friend. I couldn't have asked for anyone better. She was the one who motivated me to do my best when I felt like giving up. She helped me to achieve so much more than I could have one my own. If you ask me, this award truly belongs to her. Come on up here Octavia, this goes to you."

Everyone looked back at Octavia, her face a deep red with a light smile across it. She walked up to the podium in a silent awe and stood next to me.

"Octavia, you deserve this award more than I do, you helped me to do things that I never thought I was going to be able to do. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be up here right now in front of everyone to give this to the person who truly deserves it. I love you Octavia," I wrapped my arms around her and brought her into my embrace, planting a quick kiss on her cheek before letting her go and giving her the award.

Her smile grew wider as she looked into my eyes, "I-I don't know what to say...thank you Vinyl, this truly means a lot. I'll never forget this moment."

She hugged me again, and the crowd erupted in applause again. Sadly, the moment was short lived as parents began to arrive for their kids.

I stood at the front gates with Tavi as we wanted for my foster mom to come and pick me up, "I had one of the best summers of my life, and it wouldn't have happened without you Tavi. You truly are an amazing person, it saddens me that this in a way is the end for us."

"Don't think that way Vinyl, you have all my contact information. We can talk to each other as much as we want to. Well, until I go off to college."

"College? So soon, but summer is just about to end in a few weeks."

"Well, Canterlot University does start pretty early, and I've already gotten a full musical scholarship over there."

"That's great Tavi!"

"Yeah, and the best part is, it's not to far from where you live!"

"That's right, I only live a few blocks from the east end of campus!"

"That way, you can come and visit with me every now and then. If you know what I mean," she gave me a sly wink and quickly reached down to squeeze my butt.

I giggled and took her hand away before her parents could see anything, "At least we can still be together. Where are you planning on staying while you're going there anyway?"

"I'm thinking of getting an apartment at the Cloudsdale apartment complex."

"That's going to be a little pricey, we lived there for a couple of months not too long ago. It was around four hundred and fifty bucks a month to stay there, plus the utilities."

"Well, I might see about getting a roommate while staying there."

In my mind I was thinking she was hinting at something, but I wasn't too sure. Knowing Tavi, she might just be pulling my leg about the roommate thing. Before I could say anything, my mom pulled up and Tex scrambled out of the car to greet me.

"Hey Vinyl," he said, running up and hugging my legs.

"Hey Tex, I missed you. Have you been staying out of trouble?"

"No," he giggled and let go of my legs, quickly taking notice of Tavi. "So, who's this?"

"Tex, I'd like you to meet my girlfriend, Tavi. Tavi, this is my little foster brother, Tex."

Tavi squatted down and tussled his hair, "Hello little fella, it's nice to meet you."

Mom got out of the car and walked up to us, "Did you have a good time Vinyl?"

"Yep. And I would like you to meet my new girlfriend, Tavi."

Tavi stood back up and shook my mom's hand, "It's a pleasure to meet you, my name is Octacia, but Vinyl loves to call me Tavi."

"It's nice to meet you too Octavia." Mom looked at me and smiled, "Are you ready to go, we need to get home before it gets too late."

"Can I have a moment with Tavi?" I asked, giving her the puppy eyes.

"You can, I'll put your bags in the trunk. Come on Tex, do you want to help mommy put some stuff in the trunk?"

Tex ran back to the car with mom following close behind. I grabbed Tavi's hands and faced her, "I'm glad we've spent this time together, I couldn't imagine anyone else I'd rather have in my life more than you." I leaned forward and kissed Tavi deeply. As much as I wanted the moment to last forever, I sadly had to break our embrace and get into the car.

I looked out to Tavi with a tear in my eye as we drove off.

"Don't look so sad Vinyl, I'm sure you'll see her again."

"I know I will, it's just, I hate saying goodbye to someone I really love, even if it is temporary."

"Well, I think I have some news that you'll love to here."

"What is it?"

"While you were gone, I got a letter in the mail from Canterlot University. They'd love to give you an academic scholarship that covers four years. Isn't that great?"

I immediately began squealing with joy, I got accepted into the same college as Tavi.

"And when you go, I managed to get you an apartment in the Cloudsdale complex. You remember, the one we lived in for a short while. I even got you a job starting when you go to college."

"Thanks mom, you're the best," I reached across the car and gave her a huge hug. "I love you mom."
