the 2nd anniversary of the end of the war, part-3

The air show went off without a hitch me and my unit along with top wing put on a reenactment of the battle for Ponyville to the thunderous hoof stomping of every pony gathered. it was made even better due to it still being fresh in all of our minds.

The cemetery was packed full with ponies waiting to be able to walk the grounds and look for loved ones lost in the war. I joined Applejack along with the rest of the 6 along with their families and the 2 princesses and we all saluted the 3 grave markers marking where Big Mac, Apple Bloom, and Applejack's dog were buried. Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle both wept at the stone marking where Apple Bloom was at and placed medals, and flowers on her grave then went on to Big Mac's grave. I and the 6 ponies and princesses went over to Derpy's grave next. Dinky was already there placing an Equestrian Postal Service flag along with a military flag in a flag stand that had been added to the grave stone. "I love you mom, I always will I joined the postal service soon after you died, and the military next, I wish to make you proud of me and to follow in your hoof prints. I am in school, and am doing ok with it. Pvt Read and Twilight have sort of taken me in and I thank them every day for it. I don’t know why you had to die but I know I am a strong filly and I will one day get over it but for now I will continue to mourn you in my own way I love you still” I joined her at the grave and hoof saluted her saying that her mother was quite a mare and that Dinky had become just like her. This made her cry a bit and hug me.

We all went down the rows of graves and hoof saluted them all thanking them for their duty to all Equestria and for the protection of Ponyville in its darkest hour. After we walked the graves we all stood at attention as the Equestrian National Anthem was played by Octavia and her band along with a 21 gun salute for all who had died. The mayor had a few more things to say then it was time for well, a party I mean the day had been a sad and solemn one for all and it was about time for some livening up. After all today was also a celebration of the lives that had been saved and those who remained after it all. Dj Pon-3 was already in full mix mode along with Octavia who had her band playing in a separate part of the cemetery reserved for those who weren’t into the high level of music of Dj Pon-3.

Ponies across Equestria were having their own special services as they all saw fit. In Appleloosa they had a bonfire along with a rodeo to celebrate the western way. They also had invited the bison since they too had played a huge part in the saving of that town. In Fillydelphia there was a huge fireworks show along the river for all to see and enjoy. There were things going on all across the land along with in Haywaii where all the top brass were at. The brass was all in one place at one time, an unlikely event in most cases. However today was no regular day, they had just gotten done reading the names of all killed from the base and were about to dismiss for a quick lunch when it happened, the blinding light the noise the confusion of every pony in attendance and the sudden shock wave that incinerated them all. Haywaii was wiped off any maps in one fowl sweep. The Equestrian military was now without leaders and we in Ponyville had no clue of any of this until some pony came rushing into the event yelling that something big had just happened. The music was turned off and the party stopped then the TV was turned on.

A BOMB HAS GONE OFF ON THE ISLAND OF HAYWAII LEAVING THOUSANDS DEAD OR WOUNDED. THE BOMB WAS DETONATED DURING THE HIGHT OF EVENTS BEING HELD AT THE LOCAL MILITARY BASE ON OATWAHU KILLING ALL IN ATTENDANCE. NO GROUP OR ORGINIZATION HAS TAKEN RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ATTACK AS OF YET. HOWEVER THERE ARE RUMERS BEING SPREAD THAT IT WAS INDEED THE E.L.F, THOUGH NO CONFIRMATION ON THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED. AS ALL OF EQUESTRIA MOURNS AND REMEMBERS THE EVENTS OF 2 YEARS AGO AND THE END OF THE WAR WITH THE E.L.F WE CAN ONLY SPECULATE ON WHO HAS DONE SUCH A TERRIBLE THING ON SUCH A SACRED DAY. THERE ARE INCOMEING THOUGH UN CONFIRMED REPORTS OF SIMILAR BOMBS HAVEING GONE OFF IN THE LAST FEW MINUETS. The message was cut off by a new message, this time it was a message from the E.L.F.

YES THE ATTACKS THAT HAVE AND ARE NOW HAPPENING ARE INDEED BEING CARRIED OUT BY THE E.L.F. SILLY EQUESTRIANS, YOU THOUGHT YOU HAD BEATEN US SO EASYLY. WE ARE REMEMBERING OUR VERY OWN LOSSES 2 YEARS AGO AT THE HOOVES OF THE EQUESTRIAN MILITARY. DOES THE NAME MANEHATTEN MEAN ANYTHING TO ANY PONY OUT THERE? IT SHOULD. IT WAS ONCE A BEAUTIFUL CITY AND OUR HUB UNTIL IT WAS NUKED OFF THE EQUESTRIAN MAPS IN THE VERY SAME WAY HAYWAII HAS NOW BEEN ALONG WITH FILLYDELPHIA, AND OTHER CITYS AND TOWNS ACROSS EQUESTRIA. THIS IS OUR MESSAGE TO ALL OF EQUESTRIA.

Mare Mar was immediately put on full lockdown and every pony now had to now show ids and other paperwork to get on or off the base. I along with the princesses, Dash, along with my unit went into a small room to meet and to figure out what was going on. That’s when it hit me like a sack of bricks;

I thought back to what Apple Bloom had told me after she had been shot the day before she died. "They are planning something big" "Oh shit this must have been it" I thought to myself. The E.L.F had apparently been planning this for quite some time. if this is what Apple Bloom had heard being talked about it made no since though. Why attack on the 2nd anniversary of the end of the war and not on the first it just made no since. I thought about it for a long time but still couldn’t come up with anything. I was getting my combat gear together when Dinky came in the office. "I have a package for you from your commander; it was delivered to the post office by him after the war ended. It has a note attached to it as well" I took the package and looked at the letter.
