The Conversion Bureau: The Old Republic
Prologue
Load Full StoryNext ChapterEmpress Celestia stood triumphant over the new planet of Equis. Earth and its human population had now been converted and she could finally continue with the next phase. She heard somepony walk right next to her; her Student: Twilight Sparkle.
“Empr- Celestia, every human has now been converted and the Newfoals are settling in.” she reported. Celestia allowed a small grin to grace her muzzle. This world had been converted and the last remnants of Humanity had been annihilated.
“But the teams found this” Twilight said, levitating some sort of device; a small grated disc. Her grin transformed into a scowl. How did something like that escape the Barrier?
“What is it?” she asked Twilight. She glared at the device before (poorly) pressing a button on the device. It flared into action as a blue translucent male human appeared.
“Scout recording number 2-5-1-6; starship ‘Courier’. We have landed on a fertile world; the Republic is going to be pleased with this.” It went on to spout knowledge of ancient Earth. Celestia zoned out until the hologram reached an… interesting event.
The figure coughed and clutched his side, apparently wounded. “Scout recording number 5-7-1-1; starship ‘Courier’. We’re stranded here; a Meteorite smashed into the ship. The Hyperdrive is busted and some sort of EMP from the ship knocked out all power. We have no way to contact the Republic. I’ve left star Co-ordinates to Coruscant on this holocommunicator.” The human seemed desperate. Celestia looked at the evidence. This was not humanity’s homeworld: this was merely a failed colony.
“Twilight? Is this human’s ship intact?” she asked her student.
“Yes Celestia. Apart from the ‘Hyperdrive’ which; thanks to that device, we now have the schematics for, it is in working order.” Said Twilight. “Why do you need it?”
“We are going to save the humans of the Galaxy now.” Celestia informed her. Twilight seemed shocked at first but conceded and showed her to the Human vessel. Today would be the beginning of a new age for the Galaxy.
Corporal Darlen Javis awoke with a jump. He quickly jumped out of his bunk and stumbled over to his locker. He pulled out his standard issue Imperial Soldier armour and placed it on his bunk in the barracks. He slipped on the bodysuit first; legs, then torso and arms and finally the head. He then began the laborious process of placing on each of his armour pieces. He had gotten to the arms when someone tapped him on the back. Javis turned around to see Specialist Varren giving him the creepiest smile he knew.
“Hey there Corporal.” He greeted.
“Hey, Varry… anything new?” he asked the trooper. Varren was the brawn of his squad; if you wanted someone very dead; you called in Specialist Varren. He was proud of his services.
“Negatory Javis; no attacks just yet, hope one comes ‘round soon. I’m itching for a fight.” He said in an unnaturally gruff voice.
“Cut that voice out would ‘ya?” Javis asked Varren with a hint of annoyance in his voice.
“Fine, fine; no funny business today.” Sighed Varren. “Besides; weather is Shithouse outside, not much to do for the moment.”
He lifted up his heavy Assault Cannon and placed in a new Blaster Magazine. Javis continued to place on his armour and loaded his Blaster Rifle. He shot Varren a smile before placing on his helmet. Both of them walked outside into the harsh, sun-baked streets of Sobrik, Balmorra.
A figure in blue armour hid in the bushes from the massive gundark approaching. She sighed and aimed her Blaster Rifle right at the beast’s head. Before it could react, she fired a salvo at it; burning through its skull, killing it instantly. She jumped down and pulled out her Vibroblade to collect her Trophy. She was Virko Kelborn; a young Mandalorian warrior. She looked over her shoulder; never could be too careful in the Jungles of Dromund Kaas. She collected her Trophy and started to wander back to the Mandalorian camp. She heard a Lightsaber ignite and the death squeal of a Yozusk. She ignored it and continued to return to the camp. She had been assigned by the clan leader to hunt down the deadliest prey in the jungle; a Gundark Elder.
“Back already Virko? How went the akaanir?” Asked the Clan Leader; a massive giant named Lorv Kelborn. She nodded and displayed her Trophy; a bloodied tusk. Lorv nodded “You are almost ready to join the Mando’ade ad’ika.” Explained the heavily armoured Clan Leader; patting Virko on the head. She always hated being called that and treated like a kid. Underneath his armoured form Lorv sighed deeply. “Remember our clan’s motto; the sacred bond that will make us Mando’ade: Aliit ori’shya tal’din.”
Virko solemnly repeated the words. She always enjoyed watching the initiation. “Your time as my hibir is over. It is time for you to join Clan Kelborn. Welcome Vod Virko Kelborn.” Said Lorv. It was done; she was now initiated, she was now Mandalorian. This day couldn’t get any better.
The Sith Lord meditated in the centre of the Dark Temple; surrounded by bloodied corpses and possessed miners. A red pyramid sat just in front of her. The Sith chanted; calling the ancient power into her. The Ancient Sith Holocron slowly opened as she channelled the Dark Side into it. A Hologram appeared, although it seemed more ethereal, more like an apparition. It was the holocron of Darth Nihilus; Lord of Hunger. She stared at it as the apparition started to speak. It spoke ancient Sith. She understood the language enough. She glared at the entity before speaking.
“I am Darth Nox; heir to Tulak Hord.” She said through gritted teeth “And I am here for the only reason Sith ever venture here; Power.” It replied with a low guttural growl before finally replying
“Yes, I know I am ‘Trespassing’ I am here for power, not lectures.” She interjected. This apparition was annoying the hell out of her and she needed that power now. “Now you can either help me or your Holocron can go rest in Molten Carbonite.” She icily said. Nihilus quickly replied.
“Glad to see we’re on the same page here.” Quietly replied Nox
