Contrary to popular belief, Alicorns aren't immortal, simply long-lived. Very, very long lived mind you, but when certain…situations arise, one's heart can only take so much. Celestia has done her best to keep conflicts out from public view, and by doing so, stressed herself far too far. She pushed herself enough that she has ended up having a deadly heart condition. There is only one being who can help her now.
