I woke to a pain in the side of my chest. Memory flooded back to me as if it was still happening, but when I looked to my left I only saw empty side of a room. Looking to my right, I saw more empty and dark parts of the room but I noticed I was not in the room alone - a cyan Pegasus with a rainbow mane was in the other side of the room.
I tried to get up but a extreme pain went trough the side of my chest and my left leg. I wanted to scream in pain, but all that came out was a very dry cough. Then I noticed how thirsty I was. I tried to use my magic, but my horn only gave a pathetic glow then went out. Then I heard voices near the cyan Pegasus and I noticed a door at her right. The door opened, streaming light in and I saw a unicorn mare trotting slowly to me.
I thought she would think I was dead she looked at me then noticed I was awake. She gasped, she ran and got a few other doctors and they also noticed I was awake.
After what seemed like forever one of the doctors gave me a glass of water. I finally was able to talk but the first doctor was in the room and the others had left the room.
"How much time has past while i was out?" I asked in a shallow raspy voice.
I waited for a while and she replied with a sigh "Five months" in a voice that was filled with fear thinking I might lash out at her.
"Why do you fear me? Because I have been out for five months my real concern is I have lost a friend in that fight." I whispered quietly in her ear. "But who is the mare Pegasus I am with and whats your name?" I questioned in a now normal voice.
"My name is nurse Red heart and the Pegasus mare you are with is called Rainbowdash but I never got to get your name," she answered in a normal voice.
"My name is Solar flame, but I like to be called Rastasi or Rust." I replied with a calm voice.
After a few days I left the hospital and went to the train to Ponyvill.
Luckily not many ponies noticed I was an allacon and I found a nice house to live in so I bought it. But when i went through my mind I saw that same Pegasus from the hospital on the train and I noticed that I also saw her at the library. I felt like reading.
After getting a few bits I headed to the library and went in. I noticed the librarian was a allacon as well.
"Hello, I am new to Ponyvill and I came to borrow a book" I said nicely to the purple allacon.
She turned and said in a nice calm tone "Hello, what book do you want?".
I looked around and picked a large book. I did not read the title.
"Do you know a Pegasus called Rainbowdash by any chance" I asked as the purple librarian noticed I was an allacon as well.
"Yes I do know her, she's one of my friends. I did not notice you were an allacon as well." she said as her expression of calm happiness changed to excited happiness but it all changed when she saw my clawed hoofs and a large hole with a Crystal that was slowly changing from a blood red to a diamond white
"What happened to you hoofs and why do you have a blood Crystal in your side?" she asked with a expression of pain on her face.
"I was in the war until I lost my friend and that's how I still have a Crystal in my side - to get blood back. And I had the claws forever. Just to add - my name is Solar Flare, but call me Rust or Rastasi. But where is miss Rainbow dash? I need to speak with her." I said kindly.
After a bit of talking and explaining many things, like my dead brother that was a dwarf pony that lived in the mountains near Ponyvill, she showed me to the guest room, where a cyan Pegasus mare was lying in a bed reading a book.
"Hi Twi, how you doing?" she said without leaving the book. I looked confused.
"Twi? Who is Twi?" I asked in a nice way to show how confused I was. The purple allacon was blushing.
"Dashi, some pony is hear to see you." the librarian said with a blushing smile.
The Pegasus looked at the door and sniggered a little to see I was too big to fit.
"Hello, who are you?" she asked, still sniggering.
"Sorry, Twilight, for not saying your full name." in a tone of voice that I know was literary begging for forgiveness.
I finally spoke: "Hello, Miss Rainbowdash. Remember when you where in the Cantalot hospital? I was in the same room with you and to say my name is Solar Flare, but call me Rust or Rastasi."
I explained many things about me to both Twilight and Rainbowdash and I asked if she knew Derpy hoofs.
"Yes I know Derpy, she's a good friend and i think her sister's an allacon." Rainbow dash said. I finally managed to get through the door.
"I know her sister because I am her friend and I also know an allacon called GLaDOS. She was a pony, but now she is a mechanical pony. She was called Carolin and died as a pony but now she can't die. And I know there cutie marks - Chell's cutie marks are portals and calculating. And GLaDOS's cutie mark is the aperture science logo, and trust me she is a GIANT robot when she's at home!".
After a lot of talking I was exhausted and headed home with the book and fell asleep on the bed.
chapter 2 A friend and A brother
I woke to a pain in my wing to notice it had a broken feather. When I looked closer it was turning the colours of sadness and sorrow suddenly remembering the dream.
"Not this nightmare; why, why do I keep seeing my brother die in the same horrific death of being mutilated why I tried to save him WHY WHY WHY!"I sobbed deeply in misery.
I went to my cellar and got myself a large frosted mug of ale. I drank it as if I was dying of thirst. After I drank five and a half mugs I went to my balcony and looked to the mountains. “Brother I miss you as if you are my heart and you are now gone to the sky heavens." I explained to nothing with an expression of being depressed beyond explanation.
I started to walk to the mountains only to see my sister walking at the same speed ahead of me, and I found the allacon I met yesterday walking at my side.
"Hello Twilight," I said with a hint of sadness in my voice.
Twilight looked at me and noticed my left eye was drenched in tears but the other was nearly bone dry.
"What’s wrong, Rust, why is only your left eye wet and the right dry and where are you going?" she asked in a voice of pure kindness.
I sighed a very sad sigh. "I am going to my brother’s grave I need to see him and I only cry in my left eye," I answered with a sad, shallow voice.
On arriving at the dwarf ponies, the king allacon dwarf greeted us. I simply said my brother's nickname in his ear and he led me, my sister and Twilight to his grave.
I started to sob to see my brother's grave; it was the most beautiful sight I had seen but I still sobbed at the grave. Twilight asked me the names of my sister and brother.
I looked to Twilight and gave a final sob. "My sister’s name is Frost Flare and my brother's name was Diamond Flare but his nickname was Diamond Dust," I answered in a voice full of sadness.
I reached into my saddle bag and got a bag full of diamond dust and poured it on his grave. I had an icy cold hug from Frost Flare and I was about to leave when I saw a dim glow in the ground. I walked to it and I saw a face: a face with eyes of pure white, a mane of a sea cyan and a coat of dark blue.
I saw the face come out of the ground and show a stallion. "Solar Flare, remember me?" the stallion asked me in a voice that sounded both demonic and peaceful at the same time.
I remembered him. "Brian?" I asked with a voice full of sadness and happiness.
Brian nodded to me and looked to Diamond's grave. "Do you want your brother back?" he asked with sadness as well.
I nodded and watched Brian go to my brother's grave. His allacon horn started to glow and I saw the grass and dirt move, then a magic white aura started to form, then a clawed hoof and then the whole body of my brother put its self together; then a blinding white light shone showing my brother alive. I fainted in surprise and happiness to see my brother, my Diamond Dust, alive and I gave him a hug.
He looked around and saw me, Frost Flare and Twilight, and hugged me back. "I missed you too, Solar," he said with tears in his left eye.
We all headed home and Brian went to continue his work.
When I got back home with Diamond I went to the cellar to get a barrel of ale, then went upstairs to the main room and shared the ale with him. He walked outside and only said dwarf sense and as if it was timed perfectly, I heard the clanging of a pickaxe.
I know he was not drunk because he’s a dwarf and I'm half dwarf, so I know when he’s drunk. "Solar, can you help a little? I found a gem deposit!" he shouted in an excited tone.
I was excited too and grabbed the pickaxe I made a few days before Diamond's death. I had called it ‘The Pick of Splintered Dreams’ and it was a magic infused pickaxe, and I know Diamond's pickaxe was infused as well. I arrived at the hole and saw all coloured gems and since I was experienced in making things out of gems and other metals we dug a lot and, over time, got all of the gems out the ground.
I woke to a smell of meat being cooked in the kitchen, and I walked downstairs and found the food ready on the table. I knew exactly what it was: a ham shank roasted with many spices and herbs. "Diamond, how did you get the ham?" I asked with a hint of curiosity. He sat at his plate and ate. "It was in my ender saddle bag and food does not rot or age in that bag; you have one too." He grinned as he finished his food.
We set out and started selling the gems we’d found the night before, and got a huge sell day and headed home. I returned my book to the library where I saw Chell; I went to see her but she did not talk much; then I saw GLaDOS, as Caralin, and we talked for two or three hours. After that I went to the Everfree Forest to look around and found a lone unicorn with a light blue coat and a dark blue mane. I walked up to her and asked for her name.
"P-p-p-please don't harm me," she stuttered and backed away.
I started to get annoyed. "Why would I harm you? I have killed only corrupted in the war and you’re a lone mare in a forest full of timber wolfs and other things. Now: please tell me your name." I said in a non-forceful way.
The mare took a deep breath then noticed I was drinking from a frosted mug and a barrel was on my back. "M-m-my name is Trixy," she said in a small way.
I turned to my brother who had a barrel on his back as well. "Well, Trixy, I could use some help getting this barrel to the top of the hill; you can keep a barrel of ale if you help," I said with a smile.
Trixy grinned, got a barrel and got it to the top of the hill as fast as myself and Diamond, so I gave her a barrel as promised and gave her a few extra bits for payment. Then she left.
After setting the ale up we started to sell it and eventually a cyan Pegasus with a rainbow mane came and got an ale; but before everyone started on the ale I warned them it’s a dwarven ale made from gems and iron apples that make an extremely strong brew of ale. But the only ponies that listed where two earth ponies, two pegasi and the purple allacon; the others just went ahead and got very drunk. Then I got the large mug, emptied three barrels into it and drank it all. Everyone cheered and saw I had sat down and continued selling. Diamond did five barrels and sat down as if he had drunk the weakest ale possible!
After a few hours the barrels were empty and we headed home with the five ponies that listened and a white unicorn that was at the gem sale. I showed them the iron and gem trees, and the main ale storage then everyone went home and slept while I ate another ham shank then slept.
I woke to what I thought was a forest but instead I was in a flaming wasteland made of bleeding corpses of dead ponies and changelings. I found I was bleeding myself. A tear came to my eye to see many were dwarf ponies. My right eye was having a fuzz of static and my side was launching sparks everywhere. I was in a nightmare. I saw Diamond. As he killed a huge golem he fell, fatally injured. I ran to him and saw what had happened to him: his left leg was broken, his head had a large gash showing his skull, his ribs were completely broken and the last thing was his eyes showing many different emotions like fear, anger, sadness and guilt.
I woke violently from the nightmare, falling out of bed, and found Diamond was in the same bed. I looked out of the window and saw the sun streaming in. It felt warm, kind and inviting so I went out with a large plate of fried meat, a gem apple, a diamond apple and two large bits of bread, mixed it all together and ate the Whole thing. I went to the library and met Twilight and Rainbowdash. I was quiet that morning and went to greet Flutter Shy. After that tour of the ale cellar I learned the names of all six. I arrived and found Flutter Shy reading. "Hello, Flutter Shy, how are you today..
