The Queen and the Princess

Queen Sectonia had just revealed her name to the young mare Fluttershy, but she didn't seem the least bit shocked. In fact, she only seemed confused.

"Queen? What are you a queen of?" Fluttershy asked.

Queen Sectonia thought, Excellent... I am not known as a villain here! "Former queen is a better term. I was queen of a region called Floralia. However, someone brought about my downfall."

Fluttershy looked even more confused. "Um... not to correct you, Miss Queen Sectonia... but I think you mean somepony."

Queen Sectonia shook her head. "No, I mean someone. Ponies are not the dominant species in my world. In fact, there is no 'dominant species' per se."

That seemed to clear things up. Fluttershy smiled a bit. "It's hard to imagine a world where ponies aren't the dominant species..."

"Imagine how hard it is for me. I am a completely different race." Sectonia decided to test her magic, to see what abilities she still retained. She concentrated. A golden ring appeared next to her, startling both Sectonia and Fluttershy. Fluttershy squeaked, hiding herself with her tail.

Sectonia chuckled. "Calm down. I am merely testing what abilities I have retained from my previous form."
