Quickskip

I galloped into the stadium and thought this must all be a dream. Spitfire and I came out first; we were followed by Rainbow Dash. The light shined into my eyes and I saw the massive screaming crowd. I was a Wonderbolt. For the first time in my life I was actually doing something I enjoyed. We all took off and got into formation. I was flying next so Soarin and Rainbow Dash. It was an amazing feeling; I felt the wind flowing through my mane. It was the most exhilarating thing I have ever done. I looked an Soarin and he gave me the nod. I separated from the group and flew towards the crowd and pulled up just in time. I looked back and saw the others flying toward me so we could get in formation again.

I looked at Soarin and said, “Hey Soarin, if I can pull of the super speed strut you have to buy me dinner.”

Soarin looked and me and laughed, “Alright you’re on!”

We both pulled away from the group and started to gain some serious speed. Soarin started to do strut. I started to fly faster, faster than I’ve ever flown before. I flew passed Soarin pulling off the strut with ease. The show ended shortly after our little stunt. We all flew to our hotel in Las Pegasus. We all got ready to go out for a night of partying. Soarin and I stayed in a room together, and Spitfire and RD were next door in the other room. Soarin looked at me and said, “Hey you were
going so fast for that strut I don’t think the crowd could see you.”

I laughed and said, “Thanks Soarin you were flying pretty fast yourself!” We both left our room and went to the lobby and chatted with the pony at the front desk. The hotel wasn’t the nicest in the city, it was kind of musky. The girls came down from their room and we left for the casino next to our hotel. I couldn’t play anything because I wasn’t old enough, I could still watch though. We walked in and a humongous crowd gathered around us. We signed a few autographs and went to the blackjack table. The pony who was dealing card was a well-dressed unicorn with a card for his cutie mark. I watched as my friends wasted all their money on this silly game. We left after about 2 hours and we went to the hotel to get some rest. On our way back we stopped at some of the famous statues and we even rode a rollercoaster!

I walked over to Spitfire and started talking to her about random things and our next show. “Hey Spitfire, where is our next show at?”

“I don’t know… Princess Celestia hasn’t told us where to go so I guess we are staying here for the time being.” I nodded in approval. I liked Las Pegasus. We all went to sleep and woke up the next morning bright and early to train. We had a race to the training field. Rainbow Dash beat us all by quite a distance. The training field had so many different machines to train with, it had treadmills, bench presses, and a whole heap of other training devices. Soarin and I galloped to the bench press. Soarin went first; he lifted the weight with ease. I went after him and lifted the weight; it was heavier than Soarin made it look.
Rainbow Dash and Spitfire were flying through the rings they set up. Soarin and I took off and started to fly around the track. We started at a slow pace and started to speed up. We both stayed together and were flying as fast as we could at this point. Rainbow Dash flew in and joined us. After an excessive amount of laps we stopped and rested. “I love flying with you
guys!” I said. Rainbow Dash just smiled and walked over to Spitfire who was running on one of the treadmills.

Soarin looked at me with a huge grin on his face, “Hey I have an amazing idea… Let’s go get some PIE!!!” I laughed and we took off to the nearest restaurant we could find. We sat down and ordered and we began to speak about random things such as cupcakes, mares, muffins, and other nonsense. We left the restaurant with full stomachs and met the ladies at the hotel. Soarin and I entered our room and saw a note on the bed. It was from Spitfire and Rainbow.

Dear Soarin and Quickskip,

We have left to Ponyville to start planning our routine for the Summer Sun Celebration. Try and make it here in time for the big show!

Soarin and I put our things in our saddlebags and started the long fly to Ponyville. We flew all night and arrived in Ponyville around 3 O’clock in the afternoon. My first priority was to get all the homework I had missed while I was away in Las Pegasus. Soarin went to find Spitfire and RD, and I went to the school house. I walked in and Ms. Cheerilee was sitting at her desk grading papers. “Hello Ms. Cheerilee!”

“Hello Quickskip how was your first show?”

“It went pretty well, It was kind of frightening at first but I dealt with it. What did in miss while I was gone?”

“Oh nothing much we just learned about the history of Ponyville and did some worksheets.”

I smiled and grabbed the worksheets and flew to the town square. I saw a large crowd and flew above everyone to see what the fuss was about. I saw my three friends on the ground in the fetal position. I flew down to see what was wrong. I saw a doctor and asked him what happened. “These three were practicing the routine for the celebration in a few days and they crashed into each other and hurt themselves. They won’t be able to fly.” I was in shock. Rainbow had a broken wing, Spitfire had broken both of her wings, and Soarin broke his leg. I helped the three into the carriage and then we hauled them to the hospital. I was in tears because my three best friends were all hurt and they couldn’t fly for the celebration. I trotted to my home and saw a letter on my desk. It was from Princess Celestia. All it said was “you can do it Quickskip…” I didn’t know what that meant but I was sure as hell going to fly for all the fans at the Summer Sun Celebration. A few days passed, It was time for my daily check-up on my friends before the big show. I walked in the hospital and was greeted by the nurse and she escorted me to their room. They were all talking about me when I walked in. I could tell they were all hopeful that I would do well. We talked for a few hours and I was off to prepare for the show.

I arrived at the town square and walked into the tent my friends set up before their little accident. I put on my uniform and looked in the mirror all I saw was an ordinary pegasus with a white coat, a black and red mane, and a bright yellow lightning bolt on his rump. I was ready… I rushed into the square and took off at the speed of sound. I did flips and some other tricks I learned from Rainbow Dash. I was in my element I felt faster than any pegasus in Equestria. I was quick and agile. I looked down and saw my friends all siting in the stands watching me as I did the routine. I knew it was time… I was going to attempt the impossible… a Sonic Rainboom. I flew as high into the sky as I could and stopped for a second and remembered what RD told me, “Nothing is impossible if you believe you can do it.” I started my descent, my heart was racing I gave it everything I had and BOOM!!! I broke the sound barrier I had done it a dark cloud was trailing behind me with lightning shooting out in every direction. I had done it. I touched back down in the middle of the square. All I could hear was ponies shouting my name and cheering. I flew to my friends, their mouths were wide open. I was speechless. I helped all my friends back to the hospital after Celestia has risen the sun. I stayed with my friends all day and talked about the show I just did. It was an incredible feeling. After hours of talking to my friends, I decided to go home. I walked into my house and went to my bed. I was so tired. I think I’m going to bed now… I’ll see you guys later!
