The ancient kingdom was dark and foreboding with its ancient Gothic spires, dark and evil aura, black clouds above, and its armies of vamponies under the influence of black magic. It was the perfect place for Death Vine to watch as the worlds collided, which had all ready begun, if the constant shifting between one dimension's setting and the next was anything to go by. In the distance, the sound of an army could be heard approaching, The flapping of pegasi, alicorn, changeling, bat, and skeletal wings sounded in tune with the hoof marches of thousands of soldiers from most races of pony, the Nightmares being the only race not present. Twilight's army was large, consisting of changelings, batponies, dracorns (as Blood Flame had decided to call them), a few pegasi, several crystal ponies, and above all, the skeletons of two thousand dead soldiers of all races, brought back by Twilight and Silver's combined Necromancy. Fluttershy, in the golden armor of the Harmony guard, had a determined look as they approach, no shyness noticeable. When Fluttershy spoke, her echoing voice seemed to speak of kindness.
"I can see the spires, let's finish this battle once and for all." she said with an unnatural determination. Few knew it, but while Fluttershy was timid during every day life and during most conflicts, when it came down to the lives of her friends, she was a powerful warrior with unwavering determination.
"Let's." Twilight answered her own echoing voice seeming to hold the vary essence of magic within it.

The army soon reached the borders of the empire and sped onto the land. a magical pulse could be felt through the ground as magic sensing spells were triggered and the vamponies turned to fight.
"The only ways to restore balance is to either kill the vamponies here, or take them to the Night Eternal Dimension." Silver, still in her shadowy armor, stated and they began the battle.
Tranquil met one of the vamponies half-way to the ground and sliced them in half with her Sword. Silver began to slash at the vamponies that got near her, often walking away with the vampony she just fought cut to pieces. Tranquil felt a faint rush of wind and quickly dodged to the right just as a vampony landed in the spot she had been at. With graceful speed, Tranquil sliced the vampony's throat with her sword and turned to face the next attacker, who soon fell to her blade as well. Silver was finishing off her third vampony when she caught a very familiar magical aura in the corner of her eye, a unicorn vampony was charging up a dark magic blast, swiftly silver reach the unicorn and decapitated her.
"Get off me!" silver heard Tranquil hiss as she turned to find that the Princess of Harmony was on the ground with a vampony trying to bite her. Silver quickly killed the vampony and offered a hoof to help Tranquil up, tranquil accepted.
"Let's team up on these bastards." Silver said.
"Let's." with that, Tranquil and silver stood back to back with their blades hovering in their respective magics.

Fluttershy slashed skillfully through the vampony that had been attacking her. As another vampony came her way, Fluttershy slashed them apart with her wing blades, her eyes suddenly glowing red. Several more vamponies came her way and with each kill, Fluttershy seemed to change a little more, her eyes slitted, her mane became a bit of a mess, her fangs (which she hadn't lost after the vampire fruit bat incident), her wings became bat-like, her ears became bat-like, her mane and tail paled, and her coat paled. her armor and weapons both shifted to fit her. Hissing after the full shift, Fluttershy shot forward with new speed and aggressiveness, slicing apart any vampony in her way.By the time Fluttershy got next to Rainbow Dash, she was almost covered in blood, making her coat almost look red. Fluttershy stood behind Rainbow Dash and she skillfully cut apart any vampony in her way, further staining her coat with blood. It was almost three minutes before Rainbow finely notice Fluttershy.
"Woah Flutters, you look like you just cut through an army, and like you did when Twi's spell back fired." Rainbow Dash said with a little excitement.
"I did cut through a large part of the army, and I've always had this form, I just only recently learned to control it." Fluttershy responded as she sliced open the chest of an incoming vampony.
"Hey what happened to you, you're not normally this... aggressive?" Rainbow asked.
"Like mom use to say. 'sometimes, to be kind, you just have to be cruel.'" was Fluttershy's only response before she went silent and began hacking away at the vamponies around her.

Twilight was swift in slashing apart the vamponies around her, both her sword glowing with her magic as she spun in circles and did different maneuvers to kill off her enemies. Twilight had always been skilled with a blade in her hoof, mouth, or magic and she was never the type to let the number of enemies scare her. Twilight lifted three vamponies up to her as she hovered in the air. Two soon fell to her swords, and the third was destroyed by her magic. That's right, destroy them all. a familiar voice in Twilight's head hissed, when it spoke, it sounded as if it was a fire speaking, crackling could be her in each word. Only my enemies. Twilight hissed back at the voice as she landed next to Rarity, who was, shockingly, covered in blood and had an evil smile. As Rarity's daggers flew around her and sliced apart the vamponies attacking her, several diamonds that had been pulled from the ground shot out around her and embedded themselves in the chests of the vamponies. Rarity only nodded to Twilight when she saw her and proceeded to cut more vamponies in half, with Twilight joining.

Apple Jack was quickly proving to herself that going with the Claws of Honesty instead of the Ax of Honesty was the best choice as her and Pinkie sliced apart any that dared oppose them. Pinkie's, now flat, mane flowed almost unnaturally with every swing of her scythe. Apple Jack was starting to get use to the feel of her claws and was making the seemingly easy act of getting a hit on her near impossible. As Apple Jack brought her claws down on yet another vampony, she caught a flash of gold to her left and a moment later Pinkie was standing next to her, the body of a dead vampony at her hooves. The two Earth Ponies nodded at each other before returning to battle.

On a hill over-looking the battle, a small filly in shadow armor looked down at the battle. Twilight and Rarity were in one group. Apple Jack and Pinkie in another. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy (in her batpony form) in another. Tranquil and Silver in another. Blood Flame, Shadow Mind, and Solar Sun in another. The Elements of Chaos were in the same groups as their counterparts. The filly, however, was alone. Black Crystal had shot through the vampony army the second she got of Twilight's back and was now standing on a hill far away from where they had landed, the castle the Death Vine was in was right behind her and now she turned towards it, heading into the ancient place. As Black Crystal walked through the halls, she was nearly impossible to find because of her size (the same thing that had allowed her to so easily by-pass the vamponies.
"Hey!" a vampony yelled after spying the filly.
Black Crystal looked at the vampony without a care and, with the speed most fillies are known for, she ran forward. Right as she neared the guard, she kicked off the ground and slashed through the vampony, landing a few feet away. Black crystal looked at the blood oozing from the gash across the vampony's chest and side, sighing a bit. I was hoping to be farther in before I had to kill sompony. she thought. The only thing that kept her from caring much was her inner black magic. "Never underestimate your enemies, aunt Cadence told me that." she said as she continued to her destination.
about ten minutes later, Black Crystal entered the room that was her destination. The room was pitch black. It suddenly flared up with light, revealing vamponies surrounding her , Black Crystal was just finishing getting her slitted eyes to adjust to the light, when the vamponies lunged.

"EVERYPONY, REGROUP... NOW!!!" Twilight yelled, the ponies immediately shot to her side, with the bloodied and wounded Fluttershy being first to land.
"You look like you just took a bath in blood." Twilight observed.
"Mom always said the the blood of your enemies is quite a good way to get a shine on you coat." Fluttershy said as the rest landed, holding the vamponies off.
"We can't hold them off for much longer, we need a miracle." Twilight sighed.
"I think we can take them." Tranquil said.
Before anypony could reply, a great explosion of black magic rocked the entire empire and the vamponies let out pained cries before falling down, all dead.
"what happened?" Silver said.
"I don't know, let's just finish this." Twilight said.
The group headed for the castle.

Soon the ponies and their armies stood at the doors to the castle, having killed a few vamponies that were still alive. Twilight and Silver had their eyes closed, trying to pinpoint the source of black magic. After a moment the two opened their eyes and the main group, excluding the army, headed for the source.
The group gasped at what they saw when they entered the room the source came from. Blood covered the walls of the small chamber that had, only seconds ago, held a large core of pure black magic. Dead bodies littered the ground with smoke in the center. the blood on the floor had frozen over from an unnatural cold that had been in the room at some point creating a sort of ice ring of blood. The ruins of a large contraption, that Twilight and Midnight recognized as a device to hold a magic core, could be seen, having been destroyed, Twilight thought, by the stallion vampony that laid at the center, scorched and burned by black magic. As the smoke cleared, a small figure could be seen in the center. Her once forest green coat now red with the blood of countless enemies, more blood than even Fluttershy had on her, two shadow swords by the filly in the center of the death's side, both covered in blood, and two crossing black crystal swords now adorning her flank, she looked absolutely terrifying for a filly. Black Crystal smiled when she saw her friends. "Took you long enough, I've been killing off these guys for nearly a quarter of an hour." she said.
After getting over their shock, the group, with Black Crystal included, headed for the throne room.

The throne room, in stark contrast to the rest of the castle, was almost brand new in appearance. Death Vine sat at the throne, looking out at the rapidly changing world, that is, he was until the throne room doors burst inward and the group entered.
"Hmm, so you're all the ponies that Nightmare Moon and Celestia sent, you should be easy, especially you." Death Vine pointed to Black Crystal.
Black Crystal just smiled as she forced a guard out from behind her. "S-she's n-not t-to b-be u-under e-estimated." the guard said fearfully before being crushed by Black Crystal's black magic.
Death Vine waved a hoof dismissively, which sent most of the group hurtling into the walls, all except for Twilight, Tranquil, Shifting Wave, Black Crystal, and Fluttershy, though she was missing entirely.
"Fools, with this I am invisible." Death Vine said, motioning to the Blade of Severed Destruction in his grasp.
"We'll see." Twilight said, her voice seemed to have the sound of crackling fire mixed in with it.
Let me be free. the voice from earlier commanded.
No. you will kill my friends as well. Twilight replied as she shot forward with the others.
Not if I can help it. a calm voice that sounded as if it was magic itself said.
Who are you? Twilight asked as she easily sliced at Death Vine, her mane partially on fire.
I am Magicae, I am the spirit of the element of magic, the one that has chosen you as my new host. Magicae said.
Aid me in ensuring she will not go against her word.
I will.
Give me your word Dusk Inferno, your word that you will aid in this battle and that you will never try to bring harm to my friends Twilight's mental tone was commanding.
Very well Sparkle, I give you my word, now allow me control. Dusk Inferno said.
She wont be giving you control, I will be separating you from her physically, but you two will be forever bound to one another. Magicae said.
Twilight's body lit up with orange and rainbow energies as she rose from the ground, the world around her began to blur and distort as flames rose from the ground near twilight and from them came a being that looked exactly like twilight except with wings of fire that stayed in the shape of Twilight's wings, it's mane and tail did the same and were also made of fire, its coat was white. When it opened its eyes, the iris and pupil were both blood red and glowing, and it's cutie mark was of the same design as Twilight's except with the main six pointed star being black and the white parts being red. The creature smiled darkly, revealing razor sharp teeth.
"What is this!?!" Death Vine yelled out.
"I am Dusk Inferno, the demon within Twilight." Dusk said as she lit up her horn in the signature mist of black magic and stood ready for battle.
Death Vine swung his sword at Tranquil then, intending to cut her in half. Tranquil dodged with ease and a moment later she was behind the stallion with her sword raised, she brought it down and cut deep into the stallion before flying back to her original position. Death Vine growled as the wound healed over with black magic, then he lunged at Black Crystal, only to meet a wall of shadows that engulfed him and made if feel pure terror.
"Do you feel that?" an evil voice asked from the shadows. "That is the purest of terror, that is the fear of all, death, life, day, night, harmony, chaos. What you feel is the fear within your very heart, fears that you once had and then lost, every fear known." the voice echoed as the shadows dissipated and Black Crystal sliced through Death Vine.
Death Vine slowly regained his senses and turned to face down Shifting Wave, with a strong swing of his sword, Death Vine had nearly cut Shifting Wave in half, but she healed instantly. Turning to face Twilight and Dusk, Death shot after them, managing to cut through a good section of Dusk's body and then turned to face Twilight. Twilight delivered a deep gash to Death's right side and landed on the other side of the throne room, unlike last time, Death didn't heal.
"What!" Death asked with anger when he realized he hadn't healed.
"I am magic itself Death Vine, Through my power, I can kill gods. Your healing does not work if I am the one that attacks." Twilight's voice seemed to have a far stronger echo to it now, as if she was speaking in a dream from far away.
Dusk had healed, since her life was now bound to Twilight's. The demon shot forward, her horn glowing a menacing orange as she neared her enemy and brought her sword crashing through the stallion's chest. As that happened, Black Crystal brought her own swords down, both glowing with black magic. When she pulled them free, the wounds didn't heal.
"Immortality by black magic can only be destroyed by a natural wielder of it." she said as she slashed through Death's back.

"ENOUGH!!!" Death yelled as he used his magic to blast the ponies away and nearly kill all of them. The Pegasus vampony then took flight.
I need you Magicae. Twilight called out in her mind as she saw everypony else on the ground, their injuries from before having caught up to them.
To aid you I must take over you, are you willing, for the process of reversing it is a painful one? Magicae asked
My own pain dies not matter son long as we end this, I am willing.
As Twilight finished thinking that, she felt herself being pulled away from her own body. Twilight's coat turned harmonic gold, her mane (now flowing in an invisible breeze) turned the crystal blue of the Tree of Harmony, and her cutie mark changed to just the element of magic. She was no longer Princess Twilight Sparkle, the Princess of Friendship, now she was Magicae, the true spirit of the element of magic.
"You're reign of chaos is over Death Vine." Magicae said.
"What is this!?!" Death asked for the second time in the last hour of battle.
Magicae didn't answer, instead her horn glowed brightly with Harmony Magic as she raised onto her hind legs.
Fluttershy swooped in at that moment and positioned herself behind Death.
The magic began to charge, sparks of rainbow colored energy shooting off Magicae's horn as she called on the power within the elements, the Tree of Harmony, and even Tranquil. Magicae glanced at Fluttershy, who nodded to her calmly. I need your strengths my siblings Benignitas, Risus, Liberalitas, Probitas, Fidem, and Tranquil. I need your power as well mother Harmony.
beams of pure harmonic energy shot from Fluttershy's, Pinkie's, Rarity's, Apple Jack's, Rainbow's, and Tranquil's chests as well as from the Tree of Harmony itself. The magic began swirling around her and Death raised his sword to strike her down, he never got the chance for at that moment Fluttershy bit into his neck, releasing a powerful venom that batponies had and rendering him immobile before shooting out of the way of the charging magic.
Magicae's spell was finely fully charged and she looked at Death Vine with a determination.
"This is where it ends Death, this is where you fall, where you're life is striped away." were the last words Death heard before the magic shot out in a rainbow colored shield and crashed into Death, who screamed in pain as rainbow flames licked at his hooves and he soon burned alive.
"I didn't think you of all beings would kill him Magicae." Tranquil admitted.
"The Flames of Harmony don't usually kill, they burn away all that is evil and chaotic. Death had no semblance of good remaining in him so he was killed by them. It was nice to see you with real eyes big sis, but I will not stay for longer than I'm needed and I'm no longer needed. Tend to Twilight when I return to being in her, she'll be in pain and be unconscious." with that, a rainbow colored energy engulfed Magicae and when it dissipated, Twilight was there, unconscious as Magicae had said.
"Come on girls, lets go home and finish the final piece to this." Tranquil said as she lifted Twilight up and walked out, Twilight's half of the skeletal army had vanished after she fell unconscious so they were returning with fewer numbers.
