Chapters "Spike, Rarity needs your help with something."
I sigh. "With what?"
"I don't know. Rarity just asked me to say she needed help."
"Hmmm. Alright. Let me take a shower, then I'll go. All right, Twilight?" I nodded while heading upstairs to take a shower.
"Ok, don't take too long! If you fall asleep in the shower, I'm not getting you out!" Twilight yelled.
I rolled my eyes. I'm not even sleepy.
Rub.
Ok, maybe a little bit. But, I gotta stay awake for Rarity. She'll probably have me lift some heavy stuff. Again. But, no matter. I would do anything for her, she's a friend.
At least that's what I think is what's going on. I'd like to think of her as a special somepony, but, it's complicated. I still remember, when I was greedy, and I grabbed her, and started carrying her around Ponyville. When I shrank to my size, she looked amazed. I couldn't tell if she was angry or disappointed. But, after that, she still loved me for who I was, and I was thankful for that. I still wish I could have saved her when the Diamond Dogs captured her.
As I open the shower door, I felt the hot water pour down on my scale-ish body. It felt good. But, it also gave me time to think.
Am I capable for Rarity? Do I look good? Am I not her type? I sigh. I don't even know if she even love loves me...
I grab the soap, and start rubbing it on my scales. It smelled good. Like cologne.
I get out of the shower, and start to get ready.

"See ya, Spike!" Twilight waved.
"Bye!" I smiled as I waved back, walking to Rarity's shop.
Ding! Dong!
Rarity opened the door.
"Ah, Spike! You look cute as always."
I blushed a bit, but it was noticeable. "I know. What did you need help with, Rarity?"
"Oh, nothing really, just wanted to spend a little quality time with you, that's all." she replied.
"Ok. Are we planning to go somewhere? Like, when you mean by 'spending quality time' you mean, by collecting jewels and stuff?" I licked my lips.
"No, silly. No work for today. We're just going to have some tea, and relax." Rarity smiled with pure kindness.
"Oh... Alright." I smirked a bit while making my way inside the shop.
I launch myself on the sofa and relax. Rarity sits next to me.
"Feeling comfortable, Spikey-Wikey?" Rarity asks.
"Yeah." I smile.
"Okay, just wanting to make you comfortable. Don't want my 'knight in shining armor' to leave me."
Knight in shining armor...
The words echoed in my head. Am I really her knight?
Rarity starts to cuddle up to me. I put my arm around her, and blush a bit more after feeling her warmth. I too, am starting to feel a bit hot. Rarity sits up, and notices my unusual warmth. She looks at me with concern.
"Are you alright, Spike?" she asks.
I snap out of it. I look at her immediately. "Y-yeah, I'm fine. Are you?" I question back,
"Yes, but, you're burning... Are you sure you're alright?" Rarity feels my cheek.
I knew I was blushing really hard. But, her touching my cheek was even worse. I felt my heart skip a beat, though, and it started beating like a bullet. I turned my head away, and stared at the ground with a embarrassed face.
"Hey, look at me, Spike..." She turns my head to her face. I look at her.
Even though I was red, Rarity was beautiful. Her purple hair groomed and fancy as ever, her sky blue eyes... Dear Celestia, she looked amazing...
No. I don't think I'm ready yet.
Be true to your heart, Spike.
But, what if I'm not ready? What if I'm not worthy for her? Why don't you tell me that?!
...Love always comes. It will not come sooner than expected, but it will come. It always will.
I look outside of the window. It's sunset. I need to get back home.
I dragoned up, and stared at her with a firm look. "I... need to go home."
"Are you sure? You could stay the night if you wan-"
I cut her off and dashed straight home. I opened the door, and ran upstairs. I heard Twilight say "Hey.", but I didn't stop to answer her question. I just went to my room, locked the door, and laid on my bed. I thought about Rarity. I thought about her soft touch, and her beauty. I yelled out,
[b"]Why can't I handle it!?"
I heard Twilight trying to open the door. The handle was shaking. She started to get worried.
"Spike!? Are you okay!?"
I didn't answer back. I just... I just didn't know what to do. All I thought about was Rarity.
I didn't know a single thing about mares giving hints... I don't really know anything about love... I don't know how to kiss... I don't even know how to-
"Who?" Owlowiscious hooted.
"It's Rarity..."
"Who." Owlowiscious hooted once again.
"I don't care. She probably doesn't even like me."
"Whoo." Owlowiscious hooted again.
"I don't want to... I screwed it up, bro... I'm done."
Owlowiscious didn't reply back. I was so tired... I was so done with this. I just wanted to crawl up into a circle and die... I wanted to be in a relationship with Rarity, but I couldn't even spend quality time with her!? I couldn't even handle it!? Why!?
I started crying. I felt the tears roll down. I kept asking myself, "Why?", and "Why couldn't you handle it?".
I started to cry myself to sleep. I was so confused... And I don't even know what to do...
I couldn't stop sobbing. It was the only thing that made me feel better, because I just didn't want Twilight's comfort. I could handle it myself.
After an hour or so, I fell asleep. I finally blacked out...
I felt peaceful.
Chirp, chirp!
"Who." Owlowicious hooted as he poked Spike.
I rolled around, hoping that I could get some more sleep, but noooo, Owlowicious had to wake me up...
"WHOO!" Owlowicious hooted angrily as he poked Spike harder.
"Gahhhh, all right, all right..." I yawned.
"Who." Owlowicious smirked.
"You're always up to something, aren't ya?" I glared at the owl.
Suddenly, a deep pain hit my head like a hammer. I started to remember what happened last night, and every time the memories would come, it would always hurt. I wanted to forget about what happened last night, but I can't. My mood instantly shifted from being happy, to depressed.
I needed to get to the shower...

As the hot water rained down on me, I closed my eyes, and tried to relax. The hot water always helped, like when I drank too much and had a hangover... Yeah... Those were good times.
I smiled and chuckled. The pain was starting to go away. But, the things that happened yesterday...
I couldn't forget that.
"Spike? You there?" Twilight bangs on the door.
"Yeah! I'm in the shower!" I yell.
She stops banging on the door. I could hear her going downstairs, but when she reached the bottom... There was one word she muttered.
"Rarity."
I sigh. I try to clean myself up as soon as possible, so that way, she doesn't leave.
Moments later...
"Ahh. There we go." I smiled. I reach for the door handle.
I stop for a minute. Do I want to look at Rarity right now?
I tried to imagine me looking at Rarity without blushing. It didn't last long.
I unlocked the door, but I opened the window. The birds were singing, the ponies were talking offers and groceries... Ah... Ponyville.
"Spike?"
I look back at the door. I hop down and start running through the market. Hundreds of gasps were appearing left and right, but I didn't care. I just need to go somewhere I can be alone. So, I start thinking. What choice is there... Oh! Everfree Forest!
I start running to the entrance of the Everfree Forest.

I'm still running, but I'm in the Everfree Forest. Like a bit deep in the Everfree Forest.
I stop. I see a tall tree that is climbable. That's a good spot to relax.
I smile. I climb up the tree, and find that there's a patio-like tree branch in the tree. It was unusual to find a shape like that, but, it suited just fine. I sat down on the lush green leaves. Of course, I had grabbed a bit of cloud to soften where I was sitting. Didn't want to get poked by branches.
But now, I start remember the embarrassing parts about yesterday. The part where I was going to spend some 'quality time' with Rarity. The way I panicked... Gahhhh. I slap myself. But, she was warm. You could feel her heart's warmth shine just like a jewel. It was pure. It was generous.
And her eyes... Beautiful. Those sapphire eyes... It wasn't like sapphire, but mixed with a bit of sky blue.
I just love her. I don't love her because of her looks, I love her for who she is. Not because of how pretty she is, none of that. I love her. Out of all the things I've done with her...
The memories come flashing back into Spike's mind. One by one...
Out of all the things I've been through with her...
One by one...
"I love her!"
I hear a flash come right behind me. It was Cadance! Which... actually makes sense, because she's the Princess of Love. Oh. Ok.
Cadance smiles at me. "It seems you always remained true to your heart."
I smile back. "Haven't I always have?"
Cadance laughs. "Maybe. But, that will all be proved when you get back to your loved one."
I nod. "I will."
Cadance smiles, but frowns. She starts fading away.
I see her frown. I open my mouth, but as soon as I was about to ask her if she was okay, she completely disappeared.

I jump down from the tree, and start to look around. This wasn't the part of the forest I was in. Is the forest becoming a maze!? The forest changes once again. I rub my eyes. It was true, the forest changes every hour...
I start running South West. I see the entrance.
I see Ponyville just across! I'm gonna make it!
As I stepped on some grass (or so I thought), I sinked through it, revealing a swamp. I looked around, and swam up.
BANG!
What!? The grass hardened!? I pushed my finger into the grass. I pulled it out, to find that the grass wasn't grass. It was mud. But how? How could mud be hardening if it's completely hot outside!? ....Damn it, just figure out a way to get out, Spike!
I push and push on the mud, making it rise up making a huge mud hill...
...!? The mud hardened completely! Is there any more mud spots? I look around. I see some, but they turned cement-like. That means...
Oh no. I trapped underwater. In the swamp. I try to breathe a bit of fire, but it won't work. I bang on the mud, and it doesn't work, nothing IS WORKING! I bash and bash on the mud spot, losing strength each strike. My strikes kept getting slower and slower...
"Mmmphhhh!" I cover my mouth.
I'm running out of air... I think.. This is the end...
The bubbles are coming out of my mouth making me panic. I try to collect the bubbles, but nothing seems to work!
My vision gets darker and darker.
I black out.
As Spike drowned, he was falling deeper and deeper into the abyss. Completely unconscious, he was over. Our protagonist had failed to express his love to Rarit-
What? Something is glowing inside his heart... There's no way he could have-
I gasp. I can't open my eyes, and I can't move. I feel some sort of warmth wrapping around me like a ribbon, but I have no idea where it was coming from. Everything felt like such like a burden in my body... Maybe I should give up...
Now. Now I feel where the warmth is coming from... It's from my heart. My hand moves over my heart.
"Do you wish to end your love life right now? To not talk to Rarity ever, not finding a mare like her?"
No... I don't want to.
My eyes shot open, my pupils dilated. My hand crossed my heart, making me move again.
BOOM!
The mud rained from the sky as I stood there panting. The smoke from the explosion had surrounded me. Even though I was muddy and gross, but, that didn't stop me from going back. The maze hadn't changed yet. I start running for the entrance.

As I was running back to my house, the odor and the mud started to evaporate into a peach-like light. What I felt was amazing... You could do almost anything if you stay confident, and true to yourself. Hey! Maybe I should write that in my letter to Princess Celestia!
I laugh.
I look up to find that I'm only a few blocks away from the house. I start to calm myself, and walk straight to the house.
I open the door. I only see Twilight. Where was Rarity?
"Twilight? Where's Rarity?" I ask.
"She's up north on one of the hills." She replied back calmly.
"You weren't worried about me?"
"We were. But, we knew that you needed some space. After all, Rarity wasn't picking up any hints about you loving her. She also didn't know about any of this. Rarity was clueless and upset, Spike. Maybe she doesn't know? Why don't you confess to her?"
I opened the door. "I'm going to do that." I look back at her with the green flames in my eyes.
Twilight smiles and nods.
I start running to the hills. I start worrying about why she came to the hills, they always had places where you could kill yourself. Oh no, had I drove her to commit suicide?
I reach the top of the hill to find a horrifying sight. Rarity was standing on the edge of the cliff. She was going to commit suicide!
"Rarity! Don't do it!" I scream out.
Rarity looks at me. "Spike, is that really you?"
I nod.
She starts crying. Rarity runs up to me, and hugs me.
"I was so scared... I didn't know what to do without you... Because, if you had been lost or killed, all those memories... They would be wasted." she sobs.
I start to hug her as well. "I know... It's alright for now."
"Will you ever leave me again?" Rarity asks while looking at me, sobbing still.
"I will never... I just have something to say to you." I crouch down, looking at her.
"What is it?" She sniffs as she is wiping her mascara off with a towelette.
"For the longest time... Rarity, I had loved you deeply. You were the one that drove me to actually get up, and move on, and I thank you for that."
Rarity starts blushing. She was covering her mouth, and her pupils were dilated.
I smile. I was also blushing as well.
"You were my hope. Rarity. And when I ran away yesterday, it was because I was scared to face you. I thought you didn't love me like I loved you. I couldn't handle myself when I was looking at you. You were just so beautiful, your sapphire eyes, and your hair..."
She stopped covering her mouth.
"You're really special to me, and I would give anything in the world to be with you. You're..."
"My Rarity."
We both reached in for the kiss. I did it. I close my eyes, and continue kissing her.
After a few minutes, Rarity had stopped the kiss. We were nose to nose, smiling.
"I love you too, Spike."
"I love you too."
We hugged. We started walking back to Twilight.

"We're home, Twilight!" I yelled.
"Oh? Looks like somepony had a great time." Twilight winked at me.
"Yeah..." I blushed, still smiling.
"I'm going to take Spike back home, okay?" Rarity looked at Twilight for her permission.
"Ok." Twilight nodded.
My dirty side thought, 'I'm gonna get laid tonight! You gonna learn today! ', but nah. I'm only sixteen. I don't want to be on Teen Dad. That show is horrible. Honestly.
We start walking back to Rarity's shop, and find Sweetie Belle. She was grown up too, but I was older. Sweetie Belle wondered why I was with Rarity so late, so I explained to her.
"You WHAT!?" Sweetie Belle's jaw dropped.
"We're marefriend and coltfriend. Kinda." I state.
Sweetie Belle's jaw was still on the floor. I laugh and pat her head.
"Hey, you're going to find that special somepony too, y'know!" I tell her.
"Eww, no way, boys still have cooties!" She sticks out her tongue and 'bleh's. She runs upstairs to her room.
Me and Rarity start chuckling. We go upstairs into her room.
We both get under the blanket. The bed was soft, I had to admit, but it was also hard at the same time.
We start hugging. She was still warm.
I smooch her on the cheek. Then I close my eyes.
She smooches back. I guess she closed her eyes as well.
I sleep peacefully. I'm glad that from this day on, we're still in a relationship.
