My Little Zexal: The Equestria Games

Pinkie just lie there. Unmoving. Her chest pumping up and down, slowly but surely. If one were to look at her from afar, they'd think of her as dead. That's why Fluttershy lie crying on her bedside. The hospital bed sheets were warm, but did nothing to comfort Fluttershy's sadness. Her friend was "gone".

"Fluttershy, she's not dead! She's just, er, taking a long break ahfter last night parhty." Appliance said in her usual southern accent, attempting to comfort the heartbroken yellow Pegasus. Even with the comfort, she still lie there crying. She though she'd never see here eyes open again. She'd never see her children, she'd never see her next party, she'd never do ANYTHING again. That's, at least what she thought. In actuality, Pinkie had eaten a bit too much sweets at  Her last party, which was to commemorate the founding of Ponyville. She was diagnosed with diabetes. Unfortunately for her, it was also accompanied by a new strand of virus, called "DS". The cure was only available for 500 bits, and Fluttershy, fearing the worst, thought they'd never get the money before Pinkie passed on. That was, until a blue and rainbow blur shot through the window, breaking it. It was Rainbow Dash. She had her duel disk attached to her from hoof with her cards in it.

"AJ! Fluttershy! I have an idea! Meet at Town Hall in ten minutes! Ready, break!" She announced, leaving before giving them a chance to respond.

"Ah have a bad feeling about this..." Muttered Applejack, readying to leave the room until Rainbow Dash popped back up in a window across the room.

"Oh yeah! Bring your duel disks!"

"Oh boy." Applejack muttered, yet again. She grabbed the bag containing her duel disk and left the room, having to drag Fluttershy out.

A few minutes later, the pair had arrived at Town Hall, after Fluttershy got her duel disk, of course. They observed that the rest of their friends, save for Pinkie Pie were all present, plus the Cutie Mark Crusaders. They were all listening intently to Rainbow Dash as she spoke in an empowering voice on a podium on the steps of Town Hall.

"...And we  all care about Pinkie! So it is our duty to save her!" Rainbow Dash said as she pounded one hoof on the podium in front of her. "Now! There is a duel monsters tournament starting tomorrow! If one of us can reach just 3rd place, we can earn 500 bits! Preferably, I'd rather have first and get 5000 bits, but we should take what we should get!" She said with force in the last part of her sentence.

"But how are we gonna win? What exactly are the rules?" Twilight, who was in the front of the group, asked in her usual intelligence-filled voice.

"Okay, I'll cover the rules first. First, you will all be given 3 Puzzle Peices."

"What?! We're not babies anymore!" Yelled a voice that couldn't belong to anypony but Sweetie Belle. She has an angry look on her face. She was obviously mad about the fact that they got puzzle pieces. Why couldn't it be something cooler?

"AHEM." Rainbow Dash cleared her throat overdramatically, signaling that it was time for her to shut her mouth. She was about to protest until Scootaloo put a hoof over her mouth, not wanting to let anyone disrespect her mentor.

"She was totally not about to say anything RD!" Scootaloo said with a very nervous laugh.

"Yes I-" Sweetie Belle didn't get finished with her sentence before Scootaloo gave her a wicked jab in the side. Sweetie Belle, at first annoyed, thought it was best to drop it before she incurred any more physical damage.

Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes. "As I was saying, we get puzzle pieces, and whenever we win against another pony, we got one of theirs. It's a six price puzzle, so in order to advance we each need six pieces. Oh yeah! Almost forgot! Double duels are allowed but only if both parties want to.... blah-blah-blah....screw this! Let's just win!" Rainbow Dash said tossing the rulebook to the side.

The crowd, well, not exactly a crowd, of ponies stomped their hooves in approval. They were all psyched to get thrills while saving a life in the process.

"So. We all gonna need warm ups and the little fillies will need a demonstration. Any volunteers to duel me?" Rainbow Dash challenged with a confident look on her face, half expecting no one to accept.

"I...um... I'll do it." A voice said meekly from the crowd. Rainbow Dash traced the voice to the middle of the crowd to see a blur of yellow hide quickly behind Rarity, before finally popping its head out. "That is, if you don't mind of course." Finished Fluttershy.

"Alright then, get on up here!" Commanded Rainbow Dash as Fluttershy walked up the steps as slowly as possible, to make sure she doesn't trip and damage her duel disk, which she had bought from the store about two weeks earlier. She was still new to the game, but was determined to save Pinkie Pie.

"Alright let's begin! Twilight!"

"Oh yeah!" Twilight said shocked that she almost forgot to activate the alternate reality spell. Her horn flared and ignited the area around Town Hall into a menagerie of numbers, mainly zeros and ones, until it finally ceased into a green wall.

"Duel!" Rainbow Dash shouted. Fluttershy said it more so than shouted.

"I'll take the first turn, if you don't mind..." Fluttershy Saud, taking a card from her deck. "I summon 'Nature Bunny' in defense position!" A yellow coated cute bunny appeared on the field. It's big floppy ears then puffed up, as if it where to defend itself from attacks.

"While my Nature Bunny is in face up defense position, you cannot declare more than one attack per turn. Unless, that is, if you'd... pay 500 Life Points." She said, at first confident, but trailing off near the end. "I will end my turn with a face down."

"Umm, Fluttershy... quick word of advise." Scootaloo said zipping up the steps and whispering in Fluttershy's ear. "You do realize Rainbow Dash's deck emphasizes on switching to ATK position right?"

"Yes, that's why it's just defense." Fluttershy said with a smile.

"Draw! I summon 'Thundercloud Raven' in Attack position!" As she summoned the monster by slapping the card onto her duel disk, a small thundercloud formed on the field and out flew a small red-eyed raven. It let out a screech and readied its claws for an attack.

"Now, this is where things get totally awesome! Whenever my raven attacks, it negates any other card effects! Not only that, but he can attack twice in one go!"

"But my Bunny has more defense..." Fluttershy muttered, loud enough for only Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo to hear.

"And that's why I'm activating the quick play spell 'Speed Claw'! I can attach this card to my Raven so it gains 500 ATK! But it always must attack first or it can't attack at all. Not that that matters right now anyway! Go! Raven destroy Nature Bunny!"

The dark raven reared backward a bit to gain speed for it to launch off. It took of at lightning speed and struck its beak straight through the little bunnies ears, piercing its body and causing it to explode.

"No...!" Fluttershy exclaimed softly.

"And don't forget my other attack! Go Thundercloud Raven!"

The Raven, this time, decided to launch a thunderbolt from its wings, rather than straightaway tackling Fluttershy, possibly out of sympathy. It launched the thunderbolt, only for it to be sucked into a cylinder with a question mark plastered on each side. It then was launched backward, which zoomed past the raven and knocked Rainbow Dash off her feet.

"Oww! What the hay just happened?!"  Rainbow Dash asked in frustration."

"Rainbow, even you must know what that trap was. It's a classic." Twilight said, lecturing her about her inability to know which traps where which. "That was obviously 'Magic Cylinder'. It reflects any attacker's back to the player, inflicting damage they would have taken.

Rainbow Dash bolted her head to the nearest wall where scores where shown.

"Sorry Rainbow Dash... I didn't mean to hurt you..." Fluttershy apologized. She felt bad for hurting her, even though she was winning. She never wanted to hurt anyone, or anything for that matter. That's why she tries to avoid dueling, If she can, that is.

"It's alright. It'll be over soon." She said, grinning a her hand as she got a dastardly idea. "I place two cards face down!" She said as she ended turn.

"I draw. I summon 'Nature Koala' in Attack position." A small koala with big green eyes appeared on the field, eating a piece of celery. It got on all fours in a cute makeshift battle stance.

"Ha! 900 attack points?!" Rainbow Dash booted out loud as she doubled over, laughing at the monster's poor attack stat. It looked down in shame.

"Don't be sad Nature Koala..." Fluttershy said, worried about the koala. It resumed its battle stance and nodded its head at Fluttershy. " I activate his special ability. If I discard a card, I can add one 'Nature World' from my deck to the hand." As she said so, the card floated into her hoof from her deck. "Now I activate Nature World." The green background of the field became replaced by a lush forest with beautiful scenery. It was littered with streams and multiple beams of sunlight shot through the treetops.

"This looks like it'll be the basis for my next dress!" Said Rarity, amazed at the impressive scenery of the place.

"With this card, my Nature monsters gain 700 ATK. And I can normal summon an extra one per turn. I summon 'Nature Golem'." A giant steel statue covered in moss surfaced from underground and slowly took a defensive stance. "When he is summoned, he and all other monsters are forced into defense position, if they aren't nature monsters that is."

As it appeared, Rainbow Dash's raven covered its with its wings, indicating defense position.

"As man.." muttered Rainbow Dash, ashamed that her attack onslaught was haulted.
