Chapter 1: Matt Crocker

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Beep! Beep! Beep!

“Okay! Okay! I’m up!”

I got up from my bed, turned off the alarm clock, and prepared my things for school later this afternoon.

“Hey, yo!”

That’s my housemate, Michael Chislett, but you can call him Mike.

“Mike, how many time do I have to tell you that you have to knock before entering my room?”

“So what? This is my house, if y’all don’t know yet.”

“Just because this is your house doesn’t mean you have to barge in my private part of this your house.”

“Well, suit yourself Mr. Matthew Crocker. Anyway, it’s already 7:30 am so you should be going to college now?”

“What do you mean me? I’m on afternoon shift, remember?”

Mike went downstairs and looked at his schedule

“Oh my gosh, I forgot that physics class starts in less than 30 minutes!”

Mike then went into tornado mode, rushing at top speed while I’m just standing there outside my room, looking at laughing at him while he frequently stumble down and sometimes slip off the floor.

“Sorry Matt, but I have to go, see ‘ya late—“

“Wait, Mike.”

“What?”

“You forgot to wear your underwear again.”

We both laughed as he ran to his room to wear his underwear in which, as I mentioned, he forgot to wear for the seventh time this week. After some minutes later, he went out of his room, loped outside the house, and called the nearest taxi while I’ll be sitting here watching TV, or maybe talk about myself.

As you just read from our conversation with me and Mike, I’m Matthew Crocker; you can call me Matt. I’m nineteen years old, already college with a degree of Information and Communications Technology. For people who don’t know it, it’s a course wherein you do some crazy computer things like making a movie or probably doing things Michael Bay would do.  Where are my parents you say? Well, they shipped me here so I can have my college here. We live at the upper part of California and I’m here at the middle part of Cali. I’m currently living along with my roommate and cousin Michael Chislett, or Mike for short. Just between the two of us, we’re actually bronies but we don’t share it to our classmates much (even though they already know) due to some emotional and social reasons. We and Mike are both college students but we have separate courses. I took the nerdy computer one while he took the “Trust Me, I’m An Engineer” course.

— 2:30 pm —

“Well, I’d better be getting ready. I only have an hour left for preparation.”

I took out my clean and neatly ironed uniform and hung it behind the door. I went downstairs and took a bath. It’s already afternoon so the water’s hot a bit. After a few minutes of scrubbing and soaping, I went out and wore my uniform not forgetting the underwear like what Mike does every time. I grabbed my bag, making sure that I have everything I need inside, and locked the door of my room. I don’t want my secrets to slip out of my hands while I’m gone. I then locked the main door and went out, humping on my bike and went off to college.

— 3:20 pm —

Whew! I made it forty minutes before my first class. I went inside the large campus and walked through the hallway to my locker. I grabbed some of my books and went inside our class room, which is only beside the locker.

“Hey.”

She’s Melodie Wagner, Melody for short.

“Hey, nice new hair style.”

“Thanks. I kinda like light pink stripes; it suits my style. Yours too.”

“Really? You like it? I thought cyan would be awkward for me.”

“Oh, don’t say that. Cyan looks cute on you.”

“Well…uh…thanks. Anyways I have to go now, it’s almost class time.”

“Okay then, let’s meet later at lunch dinner.”

“Okay then. See you later!”

I waved goodbye at Melody as she waved back at me. I went inside our classroom, and just in time too as our first teacher came in.

— 10:00 pm —

“Hey, Matt!” he said as I went inside the house from college.

“Hey Mike. Why are you still up? Shouldn’t you be asleep by now?”

“I can’t sleep, so I decided to watch some movie with popcorns until the movie gets so boring it will lure me to sleep.”

I looked at the movie title, which seriously made me laugh hard.

“Equestria Girls? Seriously? You’re watching Equestria Girls?” I chuckled.

“Exactly! The movie’s so boring it’s enough to make me sleep in ten seconds flat!”

“Well then, I’m going to my room. It’s getting late now.”

“Suit yourself! I’m staying here.”
