A Little Girls Love
Chapter 3: Therapy with Raiden

Following Cadence to where she was letting Mavis sleep, Luna was wondering why Mavis was so scared the way she was, 'I hope her story isn't anything too awful,' Luna solemnly thought to herself.
After a while, she and Cadence made it to Mavis' bedroom, where Cadence tenderly put her in bed, "Sweet dreams little one," Cadence said, giving Mavis a kiss on her head, "She's all yours," Cadence said, giving Luna the right of way. Luna nodded, and as soon as Cadence left the room, Luna began using a spell that sent her into Mavis' memories.
Age 3
Opening her eyes, Luna saw that she was in a small apartment home with many strange things, such as a TV, a video game console, a bookshelf, and many other things. "This appears to be Mavis' home, but why would she leave something like this?" Luna asked herself before hearing a faint crying sound coming from a nearby hallway. Following the crying sound, she soon found herself in what she thought was a bathroom, where she saw a battered up Mavis and two fully grown ponies, who were trying to clean her up.
"Mavis sweetie, we know it hurts, but try hold on a little longer for us, ok?" asked the stallion that Luna assumed was Mavis' father.
"O-ok d-daddy," said a pain filled Mavis, as the stallion and mare used some cotton balls with disinfectant on the wounds she had. As soon as the cotton balls touched the wound, Mavis tried everything to suppress her screams of agony.
"Mavis, its not good to try and keep your screams in like that," the mare said, dabbing another cotton ball on another open wound, which made Mavis cry in pain. Luna was horrified at how much pain Mavis must've been in, but she knew that the disinfectant was to help keep her from getting sick. After a few moments of agony, the stallion and mare put some bandages on the wounds, "There, see, we told you it would be over before you knew it, and now it is," the mare said soothingly.
"Y-yes m-mommy," Mavis timidly said.
"Now would you like to tell us why you were covered in so many cuts?" Mavis' father asked the young girl.
"I-I d-don't w-want to t-talk a-about it," Mavis said, looking down in fear.
"Shh, its ok, you can tell us," the mare said in soft voice.
Bulking up some courage, Mavis then began to speak, "I-it was some b-bullies f-from d-down the s-street. T-they b-beat m-me up for b-being s-smaller t-than them, and t-they always s-steal the t-toys and c-candy that you a-always give me. T-they say that t-toys and c-candy are o-only for b-big k-kids," Mavis sadly said, wrapping her arms around her mothers neck, crying her eyes out.
"Shh, its ok, we'll make sure those meanies never pick on you ever again," her mother said, looking at the father.
"Right, because I'm going to file a restraining order on those punks, and I'm going to have a very long talk with their parents," the father said, picking up a telephone.
"N-no daddy! T-they said t-that t-they'll g-get e-even with m-me if I squeal!" Mavis cried fearfully.
"Don't worry sweetie, because as soon as I file the restraining order, I am going to the next town to find us a new home," the father reassured her.
"I-I h-hope you're right," Mavis said hesitantly.
"It'll be alright, we are going to make sure you never have to deal with those bullies ever again," the mother reassured her.
Luna allowed a few lone tears to fall from her cheeks, "So this might be one of the reasons for Mavis to be so timid, but there must be something else, something that might have worsened her fears," Luna said before teleporting to another memory.
Age 3 3/4
After teleporting away from the memory that shows one reason for Mavis' timid nature, Luna found herself in another house, but not an apartment, "Another home, just like her father said," Luna said, before turning to see the door opening to reveal Mavis and her parents walking in, obviously from a tour of the new city.
"Ok, so now we know now that there are more choices for shopping here than in our old town, so now we have a bigger selection," the father said with a smile.
"Oh I know, and best of all, there's a sweets shop where I can work at to better help our family," the mother cheerfully said.
"So, what should we do now?" the father asked.
"C-can I go to s-sleep?" Mavis asked, hoping not to annoy her parents.
"At three in the afternoon? You won't be able to sleep later on," the mother said.
"W-well, I d-don't know w-what I w-want to d-do, so s-sleep is the b-best choice for me," Mavis said timidly.
"Well, we got all your toys back from those bullies, so why not play with those?" the father suggested.
"B-but I d-don't know h-how to p-play with t-toys," Mavis said nervously. The parents and Luna's jaws dropped at that fact.
"Well, I guess we should teach you how to play with your toys, now won't we?" the father asked.
"W-well, I g-guess that w-would be t-true, but w-what about y-your jobs?" Mavis asked, hoping to avoid breaking something with toys.
"I don't start till Monday," the father said.
"And I need to fill out an application at that sweets shop, but I can do that any time," the mother said, "Now then, lets go and have a look some toys we can play with that are nice and easy," the mother said, going into Mavis' room with the father to find some toys to teach Mavis to play with.
"So Mavis has never known what it means to play with toys? I better leave that to Pinkie Pie and the others to teach her how to play, but for now, I must try to find what causes Mavis' fears," Luna said to herself, going to the memory she had been searching for.
Age 4: four months after the move, and a week after Mavis' birthday
After teleporting from the last memory, Luna found herself outside the house that Mavis' family was living in, but she could see fire coming from the windows. Looking around, she could see some large red machines spewing water from some hoses. "Was everyone in that house evacuated?" she heard one of the stallions in blue which she thought was police ask his fellow policemen.
"Only this young girl, but her parents were buried under debris," another policeman replied, comforting Mavis, who was petrified in fear, not responding to any of the loud noises.
"Hey kid, you'll be alright," the commissioner reassured the fear frozen girl, who couldn't hear him, and just curled up even tighter when she heard the house collapsing, "Whoa, no way anyone could've survived that, we better find someone who can take care of the girl," the commissioner said, looking around for volunteers to take care of her, when a pre-teenager came up.
"Well commissioner, I would be willing to take her under my roof," the pre-teen offered.
"Are you old enough?" the commissioner asked.
"I'm not, but my parents are welcoming folk, who would love to have her under our roof," the teen said, fake smiling.
"All righty then, we'll just leave you to take care of her then," the commissioner said, as he and the other officers packed up and left.
Once the last of the bystanders left, the teen then roughly took Mavis' arm, "Look here you little good for nothing brat, I told you that I would get even with you, and now I have," the teen said, tossing Mavis into a puddle.
"P-p-please, stop," Mavis begged, which was only met with a hard punch in her gut.
"SHUT UP! Nobody will ever want to take care of you or love you, because you're nothing but a big baby!" the teen said, glaring daggers at poor Mavis, "And I swear, I will do far worse than what I did to your pathetic house and those mediocre excuses for parents you had if you ever rat me out again!" the teen said, giving Mavis one last punch in the gut.
Luna watched in unexplainable horror at how cruel that teen was to Mavis. She was about to leave when she saw another stallion coming towards Mavis in mismatched clothes, "Oh don't worry dear Mavis, I will make sure you will be cared for," Luna was shocked when Discords voice came from that man. With a snap of his fingers, Discord teleported Mavis away, "Now, before I head back to Equestria, I'd better make that teens true colors known," Discord said, chasing after the cruel teen.
"So Discord was behind Mavis getting here," Luna said to herself, eyes still stinging with tears of pity for poor Mavis, as she teleported out of Mavis' memories. "I had better tell the others of the sweet angels tragic story," Luna said, going to meet with the others.
