My Little Pony: Return of the Guardiansby Sunwing1999ChaptersPrologueChapter: 2Chapter: 3Chapter: 4Chapter: 5Chapter 5 AftermathIntermission: What Guardians Do on Their Spare TimeChapter: 1Prologue///Celestia\\ Princess Celestia sat in her bedchambers. She had just lowered the sun and raised the moon. It had been 30 years since she banished her sister, Luna to the moon, and every time she raised the moon she still shed a tear. That was when she heard it. The whistling of something falling, fast. She galloped to her window and threw the blinds open with her magic, just in time to see a giant ball of fire soaring over Canterlot castle and crash into the Everfree. A mushroom cloud erupted from the crash and half a second later a giant BOOM sounded. Shaking the castle and waking everypony in Canterlot. A day guard rushed into her chamber. "Princess! Hurry we must get you to safety!" "No, Storm. Make sure everypony in Canterlot is fine. Then organise a search party. We are going to figure out what this thing is." "Stay behind us, Princess." One of Celestia's personal guards. Striker, a day guard unicorn. There are six of them that formed the search party. They approached the now smoldering wreck that was so broken it was hardly describable. Celestia heard one of the guards gag, as there before them lay a creature that Celestia had never seen before. A bipedal creature. Impaled on a plate of what looked like iron or steel. The creature was strange. It had no hair on any part of its body that was immediately apparent except on its head, which looked like, if groomed in the right way could resemble a mane... Maybe.. Celestia looked away as Midnight, a night guard pegasi that was with them said a quick prayer. Upon further inspection of the crashed wreck it became apparent that, what Celestia believed was the front had a glass plating over what looked like a sort of control centre. Levers and knobs littered the panels and there was two more of the bipedal creatures inside. Sparks would crackle from the panels bringing an eerie feeling to the dark room. After casting a quick life detecting spell it revealed that both of the bipedals inside the wreck were still alive. If only just barely. "Storm, Midnight. Bust open this glass," She pointed to two pegasi." You two, fly as fast as you can back to the castle. We need a medical team out here!" They saluted and took off, back to the castle. Friend or foe. Celestia was not going to let these creatures die. After two weeks on constantly monitoring the creatures and keeping them under almost a 24/7 life support spell. One finally woke up. It sat up and rubbed its eyes. Wincing at some pain from the injury it sustained on its head. It muttered something incoherently before looking straight at Celestia. The creature had grey eyes, rare in Equestria and the hair on its... Head? Was blonde and extremely curly. Its eyes widened and, as if on instinct reached behind its back for something that was not there. "Its okay, we won't hurt you." She felt like she was talking to a foal that was found I a ruined city. Fighting for scraps. "Y.. You speak our language?" He asked. His voice held a thick accent that she could not identify. At least, Celestia assumed he was a male if how deep a voice is usually tells if something is male or female applied to his race. "Yes, I didn't know you could speak Equestrian?" "Oh I am not. I am speaking English, or Standard Galactic English. Almost all of the races we know of use it." "Sorry if I seem if I don't understand. But, you fell from the sky. We didn't know if any pony else was out there." Well, I'm not a pony. I'm a Guardian." "I see... So, what exactly are you, and I must ask. Will you harm me and the citizens of Equestria?" "I am a Guardian. At least, that is what the other races call us. We do not know our races real name, and as our name suggests. We would rather guard the citizens of the Milky Way rather than harm them." Celestia sat on a cushion at the foot of the Guardians bed, who had now looked over to his fellow Guardian, who was still under a life support spell that a unicorn was conjuring beside their bed. "When will Jack be up?" The Guardian asked. "He may never be, the wounds he endured were much more than yours. By far." The Guardian nodded. Then he held out a hand to Celestia. "Name's Jonothan." Celesita took Jonothan's hand with her hoof and gave a quick shake. "Princess Celestia." "Well, princess. I believe this is the start of a... Friendship." For many years after, the citizens of Equestria and the Guardians were allies. But when the Darkness was introduced to the Guardians, all trade stopped between the two worlds. Celestia, fearing the worst for her allies. As the Equestrian's had no way to go to their aid. That was, until the Five landed. The lives of everyone in Equestria. And on the planet was about to change... For better or worse. Author's Note Hello readers! I know.. its a pretty small prologue but I didn't want to put TOO much information into the first chapter. Constructive Critique is greatly appreciated so I know how to make this chapter, and future ones better! And I have not yet decided Chapter: 2////Nolan\\ I sat in the cockpit of The Avenger, poring over certain books on what these gems may look like. But nothing came up, not even the book that explained the gems. As I sat in the pilots seat Anise came up to me and sat in the chair next to me. Looking tired. "Gonna go to sleep anytime soon? We got a big day tomorrow." I nodded. "We might not. I have no records on what these gems looked like. So, how do we even know what we are looking for. Let alone how to find them?" Anise sat back in her chair. Shaking her head. "So, the Darkness is chasing us. We are on the last six pieces of our weapon, and you lead us to a planet we have only ever heard of. Expecting this to be a walk in the park to get these gems that are supposedly the most powerful in the galaxy?" "Pretty much, yea." "Well, that's typical for you." I punched her lightly on the arm. "Hey! Anise. I, not that bad, am I?" "You have your moments. Like remember wh-" "Nope, not gonna hear it." She smirked, "I swear, speak of that again and... uhm.... Nevermind." "And uhm, what?" She pushed. I gave her a 'not even gonna talk' look and she shook her head lightly. "Go get some sleep, I can take watch." "Thank you, Anise." She nodded and I got up from my chair. Stretching my stiff bones. "See you in the morning." "See you in the morning." ////Celestia\\ That night Celestia flew over the Everfree with her alicorn sister, Luna. Twilight had told them that the ship landed near the Tree of Harmony. That would be where they met first. "So, Sister. Tell me more about those, Guardian's" "Hm, I don't know where to start, Luna. They are bipedal, with almost no hair on them, minus their head. Which, on some has plenty of hair, is what they call it, and depending on the sex. Could be short or long. Some Females prefer their hair short, while some males prefer longer hair." "And you said they are, unaging, Sister?" "That is correct, yes" "And, why are we looking for them?" "I lost contact with them, some forty years ago. I feared the worst. But now that they are back. It seems that all the worrying I did was for nothing." "You sound like you really cared for them, dear Sister" Celestia sighed, and looked at the fast moving forest beneath them, before looking to her sister, part of her ethereal mane covering one of her amethyst eyes. "I did, Sister. They helped me through so much, and helped me shape Equestria into what it is today. even helping solve the conflict between us and the Griffin Kingdom. They helped me get over losing you. Sister." Celestia, who now had tears in her eyes looked away from her sister to try and conceal her sadness that she felt, and even though they were back. She felt grief for the day they all of a sudden up and left. That grief was soon replaced with anger. They left her. After she had grown so accustomed to their company they all of a sudden disappeared? "We are approaching the Tree, Sister. Shall we land near?" "You know what, Luna. I all of a sudden am not in such a rush to meet my old friends. Let us head back to the castle." Celestia dissipated from the air with a sudden popping noise. Luna following close behind. ////Nolan\\ "Noooolan" A voice invaded my dreams, pulling me from the deep slumber that I was in. "Nooolan, wakey wakey." "Ugh, what do you want, Anise?" "Time to get up there sleep head." She giggle while she poked me lightly in the stomach. "It's, 12:45PM" My eyes shot open. "Really? 12:45? You couldn't have woken me up like.... 3 hours earlier?" "Calm down, it's fine." I sucked in a breath, did she just say it was... Fine!? "Fine? Fine!? I could have found us something of use! Something that would lead us to the gems and let us get our revenge on that bastard that killed our race!" "Whoa man!" Anise put her hands up defensively, "I told ya that I would get on it, did I not? I got something of use." I perked up at that. "You? Got something of use? I'll believe it when I see it." Anise just rolled her eyes. "There is a castle, not too far from here. Built into the side of a mountain. From what I read from reports, a Princess lives there. Goes by the name of Celestia." "I have heard the name before. But I do not know how she is relevant to what we seek." "Nolan. This princess is said to be the most powerful alicorn in Equestria." She deadpanned "Wait, back up. Alicorn? Equestria? Where did you learn this." Anise rubbed the back of her neck idly. "Yea, there is a few things I learn't that I should probably tell you." A couple hours later and a lot of. 'What the fuck' moments. I sat back in my pilot seat while Anise was shooting sponges out of her sword at Jane and when Jane would turn around she would look away and act as if nothing happened. I watched with a smirk as Anise loaded another sponge and took aim at Jane's head. Anise pulled the trigger and sent the sponge flying, hitting Jane square in the head and knocking her against the control panel. As she picked herself up, rubbing her head from the impact the turned on Anise. "Really Anise? What the hell?" "I don't know what your talking about there, Jane." "You know full well! You are the only one here that can shoot anything out of their weapon. It was funny the first few times but that," she gestured to her head." Was uncalled for" "Well sorrrry for trying to have fun." "Hey! That's my job!" Brad yelled from his seat across the cockpit. "Can all of you like, shut up for five minutes?" Cole asked, "I am trying to beat this level on Angry Birds, and I need to focus." Cole went back to his iPad. "You still play that old thing? We got that from the humans... How many years ago now?" "Hey. This game is a classic!" After five minutes of heated discussion if Angry Birds was a good game or not we finally came to a conclusion. Jane, who hates on everything that moves. (Party pooping bitch) thinks that Angry Birds is for kids. Of course she does! "Can we just, get on our way now?" I asked everyone. They all nodded. I spinned around in my chair and started up The Avenger there was a loud whirring noise which was replaced by a sound of flames shooting through a tube, as the engines fired up. Flicking a couple switches out Anti-Gravitational spheres on the bottom of the space craft started up and we were lifted abruptly off of the ground. "And we are off!" I pulled the wheel back and we pitched up, pushing a lever forward slightly we began to move forward at a reasonable pace. Right towards the castle on the side of the mountain. "Why do all the little ponies run?" Brad asked as we lowered into a courtyard inside of Canterlot. "Oh, that's an easy question. We are a big flying behemoth, that they have probably never seen in their life time and they are freaked the fuck out. Am I right or am I right?" Cole deadpanned as I lowered us further into the courtyard. "That was rhetorical, peewee." "Don't call me that" "Peewee" "Don't" "Peewee!" "Do-" "Peewee!!" "Can you both just shut up?" I shouted as Anise and Jane were both laughing. "Now, unbuckle yourselves. We gotta meet with the Princess." "Don't you mean, Princesses?" A voice answered from the door to the cockpit. When I looked two. Regal looking alicorn's, as I have known to call them. As they each had a set of wings and a horn, stood in the door way. One white and one a dark blue. The white one had a multi coloured mane that seemed to flow in the non existent breeze while the blue one. Had a starry mane that also flowed, but was smaller than the white one, who I assumed was Celestia. ////Celestia\\ "Don't you mean Princesses?" Luna challenged as she looked over the five Guardians that were before them. "He did mean princesses, right, Tia?" Luna whispered to her sister who only chuckled a little. "No, I did mean Princess. I only know of one." Before the Guardian could ask, or speak anything further. Celestia had to push. "So, are you the leader of this group?" The mare asked as she pointed a hoof at the one sitting in, what she remembered was labelled a 'pilots seat'. "You could say that, yes." The man replied as Celestia trotted slowly up to him. "Then, I suppose you don't mind if I do this." As soon as she finished the sentence she hoof slapped Nolan, hard. "Well, now that I got that out of my system. We can talk." She smiled. Chapter: 3////Nolan\\ I was sent reeling from the force behind Celestia's hoof slap. God damn did it hurt! As I began to pick myself up off the floor, holding the right side of the face I heard Brad in the background. "You just got knocked the fuck out!" Yea, thanks for reminding me of the happening two seconds ago, Brad. I pulled myself back into my chair. Still reeling from the shock of the impact. "What is wrong with you, lady?" "Forty long years, and not even a goodbye?" "What are you talking about?" "Forty years, your kind stopped coming to this planet. Me and my little ponies relied on you." Forty years ago... That was... When the Darkness had begun its war on the Guardians. "Princess... I don't know what to say." I took a large intake of breath. "Us five, were all that's left of the Guardians." Celestia's eyes widened. Barely hiding the hurt that she was feeling. She fell back onto her haunches. "Your.. Kidding, right?" I shook my head. "Our enemy is something known as the Darkness. It is chasing us through the galaxy. We need your help." ////Celestia\\ Celestia couldn't believe it. for forty years, all she could do was hope. That hope had all been crushed. The leader of those that called themselves The Five. Nolan. Seemed to be under a great amount of stress. Celestia could hear it in the way he talked, his voice held little room for discussion. She was leading them into the castle. To the throne room so they could talk without being interrupted. Nolan had seemed urgent, but he looked more scared than anything. She looked back to those that were trailing her. Nolan walked with his head down, hands in his pockets. Jane, walked with care. Most of the time more worried what Anise or Brad would do to the sculptures that sat upon their ivory white pedestals. Cole walked, normal to what she could remember most Guardians walked like, his head zipping everywhere as if taking in every little detail he could. Celestia's horn glowed a golden hue and the, slightly over sized doors of the throne room opened up with a loud creak. The Five, and Luna shuffled in and Celestia closed the doors behind them. Her horn glowed brightly for a second and a conference table appeared in the middle of the throne room. "Holy shit..." I heard Jane comment from behind her. "So, what is it that we need to discuss that is so important we need a soundproof room?" Celestia inquired as she slowly trotted over to her place at the the table. "There are a certain six gems, we need them to complete a weapon to combat the Darkness, and avenge the Guardians. We were hoping that you would not have had a use for them. But since they were not in their place, I believe that things may be more complicated than we wish." "And why is that?" "Everything used in the production of the weapon will be destroyed after it fires." "So, why did we need a soundproof room for this?" Luna asked. "The Darkness has spies everywhere. I would not be surprised if they were here as well. The Darkness and its main army may be on their way as we speak. We only got one shot at this." "I see, now. Seeing that you were at the Tree of Harmony when you first got here. I am guessing that the six gems you need are The Elements of Harmony." Celestia pointed a hoof at a stained glass picture of six ponies. The element bearers. "This, most definitely complicates things. If those are the gems you need, Nolan." Nolan looked to Anise, who nodded her confirmation. "They are, most definitely the gems." Celestia nodded lightly, looking to Luna. Who met her gaze and then back to The Five who were sitting at the other end of the table. "The Elements of Harmony are wielded by six bearers. Laughter, Honesty, Kindness, Loyalty, Generosity and Magic. When used in conjunction together, a power that is so powerful it is able to purge the evil from even the darkest foes. Or, in some cases...." She glanced at her sister. " Banish them, turn them to stone. Anything." "So.. These gems are basically Equestria's biggest weapon?" Anise asked. Celestia nodded her confirmation. "Cool... Can they blow stuff up?" "Uhm... No?" "Lame. If it doesn't blow things up, Not my style." Anise, being Anise. "We have sleeping quarters set for you. If you desire them." Nolan shook his head. "I believe we will be fine sleeping in our own ship for the time being. If they have spies. I'd rather know ahead of time." "Alright, I will send for the Element Bearers. We will... Try to work things out" Nolan nodded and motioned for his other four accomplices to follow. ////Captain Kain\\ A minion of The Darkness, a Zorotorian sat in the captains seat of his flagship, stroking the tentacles that had grown out from his chin as he observed the planet known as Equis one of his underlings shuffled up to him. Hands behind his back. The Zorotorians, which is the race that The Darkness had descended from resembled that of a human build. But they had no hair, and anything that grew out of their face resembled that of grotesque tentacles. Their skin was a pale blue and their hands were webbed as I'd they were built for water. But it was a side effect of augmentations given to them. "Sir... What are your orders?" "Send our Sleepers upon the planet. Let's see what happens when these, 'Equestrian's'," He spit the word out like venom. "Think that the Guardians attacked them." Sleepers were the Zorotorian army's main spec ops until built for stealth and extremely cunning. They could copy the skin of anything they came into contact with. ////Nolan\\ I sat in the pilots seat of The Avenger. Staring out the cockpit at the bustling city beneath us. Celestia requested that we stay outside of the city for the time being if we were going to be staying in the ship so she could tell her subjects not to fear us. Even though one had seemed just a little to enthusiastic to shake all of their hands. I heard someone moving behind me and then Anise plopped into the chair beside me. "Well, that was an easy meeting. It seems the Princess really holds our race in high regards. Wouldn't be surprised if she just gave those gems to us." "I don't know Anise, the way she was talking... She told us we would try and work things out but I don't think she would let us use them. If they are Equestria's greatest defense against the enemies of the Princess. They would be defenseless should we use them in our weapon." "Yea, but didn't you see her face when you said we were all that was left? If I didn't know any better. I would say that one of our race got intimate with her." I chuckled at the prospect. "Yea, it did seem like she cared for us, didn't it?" Anise's reply was cut off by a popping sound coming from behind us. I whirled around to see Celestia standing there. Looking furious. Her amethyst eyes literally on fire. "You... You bastard!" She screamed before she sent a bolt of magic hurtling at me, it missed. Barely, and it melted through the window behind me where it hit. "What the fuck is wrong with you, bitch!" Anise roared as she pulled her sword from her back. "Nobody kills my subjects and gets away with it!" Wait, what? "What are you talking about?" "A guard reported to me, said he saw you kill one of my ponies, right in front of him!" Shit, Sleepers. The Darkness found us sooner than we thought. "That wasn't me! It's the Darkness! He knows where we are! He sent Sleepers to pose as me!" Celestia's horn flared, and I braced for impact. But she gave a long sigh and it stopped glowing altogether. Wow, that crazy bitch really trusts us. "I... I'm sorry, Nolan. I should have known you would have never done such a thing. I.. I just can't believe that someone would kill one of my ponies." "The Darkness knows what we are doing and would do anything to stop us. Even if it means pretending to be one of us to wrongfully frame us." "Is it not to late to reason with them?" "They cannot be reasoned with, Celestia. The Zorotorians are ruthless. For now, don't let anyone too close to you. Not even your sister." "I will inform everypony." "No, if the Zorotorians know that you already know about their Sleepers, they will send deadlier things to do their job, and a lot more than just a city will be in danger. I bet once they find out their Sleepers failed. They will send their pets onto the planet." "Okay. I am so sorry Nolan." "It's fine." "No, it isn't I could have killed you without asking any questions. If there is anything that I can do to repay you. Don't hesitate to ask." "I will keep that offer in mind. But for now we need to discuss your safety." Chapter: 4////Captain Kain\\ The Zorotorian captain slammed a titanium clad hand into the table. denting it a little. "What do you mean they already know about our Sleepers? Impossible." "It is the white one, sir. With the wings and horn. Why don't we just blow the planet up and be done with it all? Spare us some trouble." "Because, Amar. That planet is so rich with resources that it could fuel our war effort for decades. We do not want it destroyed." "Then why not send the Reapers? They will make short work of our unsuspecting victims." "That... May work." The captain touched a button on the console infront of him. "Dispatch the Reapers. Orders. Kill the Princesses." There was a beep of confirmation from the other end as a robot responded. Reapers were deadly things. Chemical procedures left their bodies looking extremely in humane and their minds rendered feral. They could not discerned the difference between friend or foe. But they could be programmed for specific targets. ////Celestia\\ Celestia walked through the courtyard, Nolan and Anise at her back. Nolan had advised her to not let anyone too close. But after a few checks, they both checked out as themselves. "I am going to go and check up on Luna. See if she is okay." Celestia nodded and Nolan turned around, heading back to the castle. "So... Anise. Did you know a Guardian by the name of Jonothan?" "Jonothan? Sure did! He was a lead weapon designer. I worked with him. Why you wanna know?" "Oh, just wondering. He was the first Guardian I actually spoke to." Celestia looked away from Anise for a brief moment. The warmth on her face told her that she had begun to blush. "So, Celestia. Did you ever get any of our weapons?" "Yup, every once and a while there would be a shipment of weapons that would pass by our planet. We would trade bits and bobs we had for them." "Ah" "Why don't those... Zorotodian's?" "Zorotorians" "Yes, them. Why don't they just blow up the planet and be done with us?" "Well, if I were to guess. Your planet is so rich in resources that they don't want to destroy it. They are opting for guerrilla warfare first. If they don't work. Then the army will come, and if the army comes.. Lets just hope that your army is ready to fight alongside us." The Zorotorian army was vast. They has enough fleets to probably conquer the galaxy twice over and still have some to spare. Helped by chemical augmentations and the desire to become the dominant race they are beastly and deadly. Only caring for themselves. Even if most of them are nothing but clones made in vats. Most had chips planted in their heads so they could be issued orders individually or simultaneously, making their combat prowess extremely good. ////Nolan\\ I walked through the hallways. Hands clasped behind my back. Not because it felt natural, of course. But my hands were closer to my double bladed staff if I needed to reach for it fast. That was when I heard the scream. Not a 'Oh my god its a spider' scream. but a scream where you are about to be killed by something or another, and it came from Luna's room. Ripping the staff from my back I sprinted down the rest of the hallway and into Luna's room. Where she was about to be killed by a Zorotorian Reaper. Twisting the staff in half I hurled the pseudo staff at the being, it embedded into the creatures skull with a squelching sound and it collapsed to the ground. A pool of dark blue blood already forming on the floor. The Zorotorian Reapers were scary things. They looked like a normal Zoro, but instead of fingernails sharpened bones grew from their fingers and formed points. At their elbow joints even longer bones protruded from the bone as well. Covering the entire body of one was a cloaking suit, the only way you could tell if one was around is if they were sloppy, or they moved enough that their stealth field faltered. Their body was gnarly and their eyes had a wild look. Luna looked at me. Tears in her eyes, "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" She cried as she pulled me into a bone-crushing, and extremely awkward hug. "Its nothing, princess. Just doing my job. I guess." "He took me completely by surprise, Nolan. He was hiding in my closet. I didn't see him until it was almost too late. I never had enough time to charge my horn, I could be dead right now..." "Its okay Princess. Your okay now, but the rest of Equestria may not be." ////Celestia\\ Celestia called a guard over as Anise pulled her sword out of the 'Reaper' that had tried, and failed miserably to assassinate her. "Guard! Put Canterlot on lockdown and order the Elements to return to Ponyville! They will be safe there for the time being, and get the weapons from the armoury... We may have a war on our hands very soon..." Anise grabbed the stealth cloak from the disheveled body of the Reaper and slung it over her back. "Could come in handy, this tech fairly exceeds our own." ////Nolan\\ "Cole! Jane! Get your asses out of bed!" I shouted in the sleeping quarters of our ship before I walked into the rec room. Brad was sitting in there. Doing.... Wow, I didn't even know how many papers were scattered everywhere. "Brad... Meet in the cockpit in 7." I began walking down the white hallway to the cockpit. Jane walked out of the sleeping quarters, looking as prissy as usual, yet still with tired eyes. While Cole stumbled out, iPad in hand. We all waited in the cockpit for Brad to show up. I spun around on my chair, while Cole played. What I bet would be Angry Birds on his iPad. Jane sat there and kept on being a stuck up bitch, even if she wasn't doing anything. While Anise was throwing bits of eraser at Jane, trying to get her to move. Where she got the eraser, I don't know. Anise.. Brad walked in. "What's the rush Nolan?" He inquired before he took a seat at the last available chair in the cockpit. "Well, Brad. Both of the Princesses were attaked by Reapers today. I guess the other two, Twilight and Cadence were not important enough to attack. Not that its a problem for us, of course." "Oh, Lovebutt and Sparklebutt? Yea, there more stuck up than Jane, haha" Brad then proceeded to stuff his face with a piece of bread that was on the console in front of him, while Jane glared daggers at him. "Brad, you do not know how old that is, and Jane. Stop being a bitch. Okay! Here's the plan!" I pulled up a digital map in front of me. "Jane, you will be watching over Cadence. Talk about girly stuff, I bet she will suit you fine. Cole, you are the most accurate shot out of us so you will go up in the tower. Here." I poked a point on the map and it lit up. "Anise, you will watch over Celestia while I watch over Lulu, I mean Luna. and Brad, you stay here. In case they do go on an all out assault. We are going to need someone to take out their fighter and be our eyes in the skies. Everyone got that?" I got nods from everyone. Well, that was easy... Now it's time to take battle plans to the ponies. ////Captain Kain\\ The captain took his seat on the bridge of his flagship. Amar inched up to him, hand clasped behind his back and looking at the ground. "Sir.. The Reapers have failed. What are your orders?" The captain let our a low growl. "You have failed me for the last time... Amar." The captain grabbed the laser pistol from around his waist and shot Amar in the head. Amar slumped to the ground, the scent of burning flesh wafted up to the captain. "Take his body away." Two Zorotorian's ran up and grabbed Amar's body. Pulling him away. The captain pointed to a random crewman on deck. "Kabal! You are my new second in command. Now ready the army! We are through with covert ops." The captain rose from his seat and began stomping towards the bay doors. Where his commanders and captains awaited briefing. ////Celestia\\ Princess Celestia paced in her bedchambers. Her hooves making soft clopping sounds on the granite floor. Anise stood in her room, back against her door. Celestia couldn't read expressions very well, but she could tell that Anise was almost scared of what was to come. The guard was assembled and every last Guardian spear they had in the armoury was issued to those who had some experience with them. Celestia could hear the faint hum of 'The Avenger's' engines as Brad hovered above the castle. Cole was stationed in the tower, overlooking most of the city and courtyard. Most of Canterlot was evacuated, either into the underground chasms that lay beneath the city or on trains to the Crystal Empire or Ponyvilled. She only hoped that those Zorotorians were so sought on going after the Five that they left the rest of Equestria alone. "Celly, stop pacing. I think you are about to start making a rut in the floor." "I'm sorry, Anise. I'm just, worried on what is to come. Or if we are going to survive the coming storm." "We fought these guys thousands of times Celly. They do the same thing every time and are extremely easy to predict. I doubt they will even make it to the courtyard." "I hope you are right Anise... I hope you are right." ////Cole\\ Cole set up in the tower. Choosing to take higher powered energy cartridges that packed more of a punch than his standard ones. Only downside was they were too big to be clip fed. So they had to be loaded one at a time. The ponies were spread all through Canterlot. There was no telling where the enemy would land or where they would attack but the hope was they would attack from the outskirts so they could fall back to defensive positions set up. They were commissioned weapons from their armoury that we had briefly taught them to use. We could only hope that the Zorotorians didn't throw everything they had. And our fallback worked. Author's Note Wow!? 5 faves? Holy crap! Thanks to those 5 that have faves this story and followed me on this adventure! I hope to bring more content & chapters that you will love to read!! Also, if you are thinking. Next chapter will not be the last chapter. Not even close! I still have lots planned for the story. Hell, the Five haven't even met the Mane Six yet! Last thing. May not get any chapters out next week. Going camping with the fam, we may have some internet where we are going but all I will have is my iPad so if there is a chapter, it won't be very long. So, until next time readers! Oh, and one last thing. Some are probably wondering. 'Why the hell do the princesses not evacuate as well?' Well, it's simple. Remember when they sent the Reapers after the princesses? Well, it's because they do know that Celestia has feeling for the Five. Therefore. If the princesses leave, the the zoro's won't focus all of their power on Canterlot. Which is what they want. Chapter: 5////Nolan\\ The air was thick with tension, it was almost if you were breathing it. Feeling it. I stood ready at the door on the inside of Luna's room. The Princess of the Moon sat by the window. Staring out of it. That was when we heard it. An explosion and the screams of multiple ponies. "They have begun the war, Princess. Are you sure you still wish to stay in your chambers? We could be out fighting." "I hate to say it, Nolan. But it must be done. If we do, win, The ponies will need a leader. Or leaders." "I understand. Step away from the window, I got the door." ////Cole\\ Cole knelt on one of the tallest towers of Canterlot Castle. His sniper set up on a bipod, overlooking most of the city. The streets were swarming with Zorotorian foot soldiers, the Canterlot guard was holding out well enough with the weapons that were given to them by the Guardians. Training his scopes crosshair on a Zorotorian commander he pulled the trigger. There was a small poof sound and the sniper discharged. A red bolt of light hurled towards the captain and punched a hole between his eyes. Blood, bone and grey matter flew out the other side in a spray of crimson. Pulling the bolt on the sniper back a sleek black canister popped out of the chamber and clattered to the floor, pulling another from his pocket Cole put it in the chamber and slid the bolt back forward, reloading the sniper. Then, he looked for his next target. "Nice shot, Cole." Brads voice crackled over his earpiece as Cole trained his crosshairs on another Zoro. "My shots always are. Get ready to take off, they are going to be sending dropships and fighters soon." "Way ahead of ya my man!" Was Brad's reply as The Avenger flew over top of him, ruffling his hair. Brad took the ship if for a strafe down one of the streets and the laser rail guns on each wing discharged. Sending multicolored bolts to the Zorotorian ranks, giving the guards on the ground some much needed breathing room. Another voice crackled over the earpiece. "Cole! Zorotorian captain six blocks down from your position, he's got a big sword. Can't miss em." The voice belonged to one of the commanders of the guard that we had issued earpieces to before the start of the fight. "Got it, finding target now." Cole moved his aim to where the pony has said, and sure enough there was a large Zoro wielding a large sword as he cut through the ranks of guards in front of him. Cole aimed at his head and pulled the trigger. The light beam sailed true, until the captain absorbed it with his sword, a smirk on his face, then he bounced the bolt of light back at him. He was barely able to get out of the way before the stone was punched through. Sending bits flying everywhere. "Shit. Absorption.." Cole look around. Brad was dog fighting with other Zorotorian fighters. He wouldn't be able to help much. He looked back to the commander who ran his sword through a group of guards, caving in their armor, killing them or severely wounding them. Putting his hand back up to the earpiece he pushed a button, "Commander, throw one of the Guardians spears near the Zorotorian captain and get everyone out of the immediate vicinity." "Alright, I hope you know what you're doing." Cole didn't answer as he trained his sight on the spear that was now sailing through the air, it landed near the captains feet. The bolt of light that discharged from the gun hit the spear straight on. The light from the blast was almost blinding. "Dear Celestia Cole... That was crazy." "Well, whatever works I guess.." ////Nolan\\ I winced slightly as a explosion resounded through the castle. "It seems that things are heating up out there, Luna. Quite literally. Actually." "I find it funny that you are able to find something comical in a time like this." "Sometimes it pays to be comical in times of fear." I ran my hand along the double bladed staff in my hand "Fear makes people weaker, and people act differently under the influence of fear.." I saw Luna nod in the corner of my vision. "How do you think the guard is doing, Nolan?" "The Zorotorians are a warring race. Most of their soldiers are genetically modified and their cannon fodder was cloned in vats." "Genetically modified?" "Drugs and other things were put into their systems to enhance their combat prowess. They are faster, stronger and more cunning than most. Their captains were put under more modifications than just their soldiers. And only those that survived the modifications were the ones used as captains." "Why would they do things like this?" "The Darkness used to be a Zorotorian, when they found out how much the Darkness changed. Became stronger. They wanted to be just as strong. The Zoro's have been loyal to the Darkness ever since." "So, the Darkness basically reigns by a lie?" I shook my head. " There is no lie for the power the Darkness possesses. If it could be recreated... It would be disastrous for not just the galaxy. But potentially the universe." ////Commander Stormhoof\\ "Get down!" Stormhoof called out to the remnants of his battalion as a ball of explosive energy hurled towards the position they were dug into. Canterlot was in ruins. Most of the houses were reduced to naught but kindling and those left standing were either on fire or looking to be on the verge of collapse themselves. Fires were prominent thing to see on the streets now, as the sounds of battle echoed across the once proud city. Another bolt shot past him and hit one of his ponies square in his chest. Burning a hole in his armor and killing him almost instantly. It was hell on the front-lines. Bodies of ponies mingling with the Zorotorians were a common sight as they both fought for ground, the guards ponies being pushed steadily back even with the support of Cole and Brad. Stormhoof brought his Guardian spear up as one of the Zorotorians that were known as Reapers leapt over the rubble he was hiding behind and straight into his spear. Killing the monster instantly. His horn lit up as he pushed a button on his earpiece with his magic. "Captain Shining Armor! We need reinforcements or we are going to lose this position!" "I don't have anymore ponies to spare, Stormhoof. We're all out of reserves." Was the captains crisp reply. We had almost hit the end of our troop count, while it seems the Zorotorian army was just warming up. "Okay, sir." Stormhoof replied while he looked to the remaining fifty ponies left with him. Ten pegasi. Thirty earth ponies and ten unicorns. "Alright everypony. We're the last line of defense to the princesses. We cannot let this position fall!" A chorus of 'Yes sir's' replied back, but there were a couple ponies that weren't so enthusiastic. "Why are we even fighting for those aliens we have never even met before?" He heard a pony ask as another salvo of laser bolts flew past us, all of them missing. "They are on terms with the princesses. What more incentive do we need?" He replied harshly. Then, as if a miracle presented itself Jane came running down the street. Dodging laser fire, and returning some of her own with her glowing bow. ////Jane\\ "I heard you needed some help." Jane told the commander as she slid into a place beside him. "Are you not supposed to be guarding Cadence?" "Nope, put her with Anise, sure they will be fine." She held out a hand. "Name's Jane" the commander but a hoof in the palm of her hand. "Stormhoof." Jane peeked over the rubble she was kneeling behind and almost got her head blow away by the fire of the slowly forward creeping Zorotorians. "Seems like you got a Zoro problem, not to worry!" She pushed a button on her quiver on her back and the arrows flashed brightly and then dimmed, turning to a glowing yellow. Pulling a now yellow arrow from the quiver she fired it at a small group of Zorotorians and it embedded itself into the lead, exploding in a ball of fire shortly after. "Holy buck..." One of the ponies mumbled as around twenty Zorotorians went up in flames. "It's fuck, dude. Buck sounds extremely ridiculous." Jane said before pressing another button and the arrows glowed a grass green. Nocking three arrows she fired them at a Zorotoran commander wielding a giant rifle. One arrow punched through the rifle, destroying it. Another went through its eye, and the last hit the rifle a second time, in the power core. Exploding it and cooking everything in a small radius on the blast. "Now, let's win us back the city!" ////Brad\\ Brad sat in the seat of the cockpit, frantically pulling at joysticks and pressing buttons as he was chased by two fighters. The Avenger was normally meant to be flown by two people. So naturally. When the controls were switched to be flown by only a single person. It was a little hard to control. Looking at a small screen on the control panel. Showing the rear view of a ship two Zorotorian C Class fighters were in hot pursuit. The C class fighters were more built for speed over firepower. So all they were doing was basically tickling the shield of the ship. But under their sustained fire the shields charge was still dropping at a steady rate. So this would have to be ended quick. Pressing a button two plasma rockets shot out from the back of each wing. The pursuing fighters cloaked but, what they didn't realize was that plasma rockets did not track heat signatures. And they could be controlled manually. The two rockets hit their respective targets, briefly crackling over their shields before they exploded into a ball of fire. Plummeting towards Canterlot. "Awe yea! That's another two down. Courtesy of the best pilot!" Brad yelled at the empty cockpit, pumping his fists into the air, congratulating himself at a small victory. A light blinked on the control panel which Brad quickly pushed. "Hey, Jane, see my sick moves?" "Now is not the time you idiot! We're losing the battle on the ground! You need to take out those drop ships! Or better yet! Go up into orbit and blow their flagship to smithereens!" "Y'know, that's a pretty big task. I'm gonna wait to tackle that one. What about the drop ships." There was an audible sigh from Jane's end. "Just, please do your job. Jane out." The cockpit was one more plunged into a silence only permeated by the whirring noise of the engine. "Well, let's do this." Brad said as he pushed two joysticks forward and the ship shot forward to where the drop ships were landing and unloading troops. "Say bye!" Brad pushed a button on his console and a large rocket shot out of the bottom of the ship, and Brad controlled it manually to make sure it would hit its mark. As soon as it hit, there was a flash of light and the resounding explosion was loud enough to shake Canterlot to its roots. ////Captain Kain\\ "Sir! We have lost contact with drops ships one through twenty. Commanders are reporting heavy casualties on the ground. Looks like the Guardians used their matter destabilizer. Kain punched the wall, putting a small dent into it. "These guardians have become a nuisance! Clone more foot soldiers! We are not losing Canterlot!" "Sir, the matter destabilizer has destroyed all of our cloning vats that were on the ground. We're almost out of troops, and out of resources." Kain growled loudly his hand almost reflexively going for the laser pistol strapped to his belt. "How are we out of men, when we have an entire fleet stationed at this planet.?" The bridge worked gulped audibly. "W..well, sir. The matter destabilizer terminated approximately two hundred thousand Zorotorians, and blew half of the city to rubble, probably wounding or seriously injuring even more. Your commanders are requesting immediate Evac. Or, at least the remaining twenty" The captain whipped the pistol from him belt and started to fire on the worker as his screams echoed through the bridge. Kain only let up when the heat from the gun became too much to bare. "I will not pay for this insolence! Who is going to tell our Overlord that we lost to five Guardians and ponies with primitive weaponry! What is wrong with you bastards!?" The captain whipped his pistol at a guard stationed by the doorway, caving his skull in, and stalked out. ////Nolan\\ I covered my ears as a blast echoed through the castle. Followed by a loud ringing and a second, quieter explosion. "What. The. Fuck." I asked out loud as I looked out the window of Luna's bedroom. Seeing a mushroom cloud wafting up from a blast. I began to laugh hysterically. "Holy shit! It actually worked! The matter destabilizer bomb worked! Haha! Yes!" I started jumping around Luna's room as she still tried to recover from the blast that probably, hurt her more sensitive ears. While I just danced around, happy as could be and shouted profanities up to the Zorotorian fleet. "What was that Nolan?" Luna yelled, just a few decibels too high as she may not have gotten her hearing back fully. "That was out matter destabilizer. That thing was only a prototype that we found while leaving our home planet!" I yelled back as her, hoping she could hear. " I can't believe it actually worked!" Anise barrelled into the room, rubbing a finger in her ear. Celestia and Cadence close behind. "Was that just what I think it was. Nolan?" "Oh yes it was! And you know what that means? We won! Haha!" ////Jane\\ Cheers erupted all around as, our now healed ears could actually begin doing their job again. The remaining Zorotorians fled from the now ruined city of Canterlot as most of their attacking force was wiped out by a prototype weapon. The last fifteen defenders of the entrance to the castle has fought bravely, and it paid off. Even if it meant the death of their commander. More cheers and hollers could be heard from around Canterlot as the remaining members of the guard realized that they had won. But the celebration was short lived. "How many did we lost?" I heard a pony ask behind me and I slung my bow on my back, a wind ruffling my hair. "I.. I don't know." Another answered back as the realization all dawned on us, it was indeed a victory. But at what cost? How many of the guard had died this day. But how many were still yet to die in the war that was started? Author's Note And now! After a long, longwait, chapter five is finished! Woohoo! I have went back and changed a few things in the previous chapters. As well as given the chapter a name and changed the tag to mature, cuz y'know. Swears, death gore. I just wanna be safe. I will definitely be updating this more often as I have found a way to crunch time school and this, now that football is done. And I hope to see you all in the next chapter! (Hopefully this time it won't take a couple months -.-) -Sun, out! Chapter 5 Aftermath////Captain Kain\\ "Power up reactor cores and put power to the thrusters! We're breaking the siege on this planet... For now." Kain stood with his arms clasped behind his back looking out the large bridge windows at the planet below. Blood from the dead Zorotorian still dried on the control panel to his left. He left it there as a reminder to others that he did not, and will not tolerate failure. The captains field commanders had suffered greatly. With only their augmented bodies the reason they were still walking. All of them were deaf, though. So, they would soon be put to death. Once the fleet was back in orbit of their home planet. "Thrusters at max capacity, sir. Starting them now." The captain just nodded as he continued to stare at the planet that was now moving to the right of his vision. Kain new that his Overlord would kill him, it was to be expected. He failed at a task that was deemed trivial to him. There was no way he would live.... Unless... "Relay a new message to the fleet. We're heading to Zargonia." "Sir?" "Just do it." The flagship stopped moving and started to move slightly to the left, before stopping and moving at an astonishing speed to a light in the distance. Lets see what secrets the Guardian's left behind' ////Nolan\\ No war song was sang today. No cheers erupted from the ponies who were so abruptly taken out of their homes. Of which most lay in ruins now. As I walked through the rubble strewn streets of the once proud city of Canterlot. I felt no happiness. Families knelt beside the dead body or bodies of their loved ones, as they said their last goodbyes to some that they were never able to say goodbye too. Trumpets sounded and wails rose up from the streets as families found their own was dead among the rubble. I ran my hand along a burnt wagon. Multiple scorch marks lined it and there was a splash of blood on a wheel, I walked past another dead pony guard. His melted face barely distinguishable to be even a pony. At some point Anise joined me. We shared no words. Just taking solace in each others company as we kept walking. Soon we got to the part of Canterlot that was burnt to a crisp by the matter destabilizer. Humanoid skeletons littered the burnt ground and melted wrecks of hull metal lay in heaps. I may have felt bad for them, at some point. But today I held no remorse as I kicked a skull. "Why did we being this war upon this nation, Anise? How is it fair to them?" "It's not, Nolan, but at least we can find solace that we won for now, and that the princess seems to want to keep us alive." "They must know they will not survive another battle. The armies of the Darkness are vast. There will be more of them here soon, then what will we do?" "We find allies. I heard talk of a nation of Griffons north if here. Dragons and minotaurs, I'm sure they will find the good in their hearts to make an alliance with the threat of the Zoro armies looming over them." "We can only hope......." ////Gryphonia\\ "My liege! Urgent letter from Princess Celestia! She demands you read it instantly!" The squire ran up to the king and handed him the piece of parchment on which the letter was written. Opening it up the king skimmed over the paper. "So... An otherworldly force has attacked Canterlot, almost burning it to the ground. Celestia is requesting allies. We are to meet at a conference the following week.... Squire! Send a letter! The Griffins are accepting." ////The Dragon Kingdom\\ "Shadowscale! We have received a letter from the princess of Equestria!" A small dragon ran up to the Alpha of the dragons. Yelling loudly in order to be heard. The Alpha opened an eye up. "What does it say?" His deep voice reverberated down the mountain. "Forces not of this world are threatening Equestria and it's ponies! We are sending these messages out to all races we believe are willing cooperate with us. Please send a really due haste! A conference will be held in a week for those who accept." The king turned an eye to the small dragon messenger. "Celestia... Eh? I accept" ////Hall of the Minotaur Lords\\ "My lords! An urgent message from Princess Celestia of Equestria has arrived!" The seven lords sitting in a semicircle of thrones all turned to look at the messenger. "Sum it up, messenger. We do not have much time for open discussion." "Celestia is requesting allies. They are at war with an army not of this planet, they are requesting allies." "We cannot give help to them! We have enough problems on our own without having to worry about Celestia's either!" "We must think of our people, first, Deceit. If they conquer Equestria they may try to conquer us as well." The seven lords launched into a heated discussion on what to do about the matter. Finally Truth silenced them. "Let us put it to a vote! The one with five votes will be our course of action! All in favor of keeping to our own?" Three hands raised. "All in favor of allying with Equestria?" Four hands raised. Deceit snorted and got up off of his throne. Stalking from the hall. ////Changeling Hive\\ "My Queen! A message from Celestia has arrived!" The drone hissed out before bowing before Chrysalis. Queen of the Changelings. "Give me that!" She snatched the parchment from the drone with her magic, eyeing it over, then looking back and reading it more closely she gave off a grin. "So, Celestia needs allies?" She mumbled as she folded the message back up and burnt it the green fire giving an eerie feeling to the dark throne room. "Tell Celestia the Changelings accept her offer." Author's Note Well, I thought that since this was an aftermath chapter that it should be posted the day after the last chapter. It's short, explaining the unification between races and those who will be at the meeting in the next chapter. I guess if anyone reading this has any smaller races they would like to see in the story I will gladly put them In! I will safe the next chapter til next week if any of those reading this would like to have their race put in. Send me a message if you would like! This is the format I would like it in. Name of race: Brief description of appearance: Lore, how they relate to Equestria in some way(Or be a creature from fable): Name of their leader (king, queen etc.): What side do you want them on?(become a minion of the Darkness or an ally with Equestria) After some thought I have decided. I'm going to be accepting some Guardian apps! (After all, not only five survived) I don't know when they will be showcased in the story but hopefully soon. Here is the format: Name: Appearance: Choice of weapon (can be almost anything, but not too op please!): How is their relationship with the Five?: Personality: Profession before the War started: And that is all! I will see all of ya in the next chapter! -Sun, outro Intermission: What Guardians Do on Their Spare TimeAuthor's Note I wrote this as a sort of 'for the lolz' type deal. If you guys like this I'll be sure to put more in the story at certain intermittent points. If you guys don't like it I'll do no more and just delete this one. Just thought I'd try new things! Also sorry about the wait, just been a little busy as of late, nothing really major. Also I'll take suggestions on what to write for these chapters if it continues. Intermission: What Guardians Do on Their Spare Time ////Taking Care of the Avenger\\ 'Taking care of our ship is never easy. Thrusters to clean, gun barrels to shine. But sometimes, fun things happen. Especially when you walk in on others doing their cleaning.' "Oh yea baby, I'm gonna make sure your barrels shine real nice!" "Uh, Brad. What the fuck are you doing?" Brad turned around from scrubbing a gun barrel. Ash and soot covered his face. "Oh, hey Nolan. Y'know, just doing my job around here!" He ended it with a laugh. I nodded slowly. Backing away. "Okay... I'll leave ya too that then.. Have fun?" I turned and began walking off. It sounded like Brad was like having sex with the ship or something... I jogged up the ramp into the interior of The Avenger and was meet by blaring loud music that I could barely understand. "Fucking hell..." I mumbled as I went to check and see what Anise was doing. I opened the door to our quarters slowly and Anise was sitting there dusting off little bits and bobs we collected on our trips. And... She was talking to herself. Or rather her imaginary figurine friends. "Oh? Did I not brush you off enough little guy? I'm sorry!" She went to brush off a piece of rock that we found. That I thought looked pretty cool. "Your looking nice today! Have you been working out, Steve?" Great. Just when I thought people couldn't get any crazier she started talking to a flashlight. Seriously, why do we even have a flashlight? I cleared my throat loudly enough to be heard. "Don't worry, I won't tell Nolan about you taking his glow stick collection." I guess she didn't hear me, and seriously? She has been taking my glow sticks? "Uh, Anise?" She jumped. "Oh fuck! Hi, Nolan. I'm just dusting off our stuff!" Oh yea, that's totally what you were doing! "Yea, okay. But really? You have been taking my glow stick collection?" "Yea! Why the fuck do you even collect glow sticks anyway?" "Why do you talk to inanimate objects?" "Well, they listen. For one," I rolled my eyes, like I don't listen to problem she has, okay. "Just... Continue on. I guess, as long as your getting work done." I turned and walked out of the quarters and back into the hallway of reverberating bass. Seriously, who even plays their music this loud? I began walking to the cockpit where it sounded like the sound was coming from. "Jane! Turn your fucking music down I can't hear myself think!" I heard Cole scream at the top of his lungs as I was almost blasted out the door from the sound. "Holy fuck Jane? What the hell is wrong with you?" Jane, didn't care or didn't hear us as she cleaned off the joysticks and control panels of things that have accumulated there over the last few days. While bobbing her head to the music. I took a small electromagnetic grenade out of my pocket and tossed it into the middle of the room, where it went off without a sound and the music quit. "Oh, come on!" I heard Brad yell from outside. Yea, I don't even wanna know at this point.. "Jane, seriously? Why the hell was the music so loud?" "Well maybe I like my music loud?" "That shit almost blew me out the door as I walked in! Seriously. What the hell?" I looked over at Cole whose hair was all blown back and he looked a little shell shocked. "You even gave fucking Cole nightmares!" "That wasn't the music, Nolan. I'm just gonna go take a nap." I shook my head. Seriously, I must be the only sane one around here.. ////Messing with the Ponies\\ 'Sometimes scaring and messing with ponies can be pretty easy... Almost too easy, at least for Brad. Anyhow.' "Hey, Celly!" "What did you just call me?" Celestia replied stiffly to Brad who didn't change his look one bit. "I called you Celly, now, what I came here to ask you for. Whatcha doin?" "Uh, Brad. You just interrupted my court and you just walk in here to have some small talk?" Brad looked back at the group of ponies behind him. Most of which were giving him icy stares. "These guys are your court? They don't look like nobles." "That's because they are not. These are my subjects. I'm listening to their complaints and questions." Brad ran up to sit in the throne that Luna usually sat in. Putting a fist under his chin and resting one of his legs over his knee. Trying to look royal. "So, what they complaining about Celly?" "Could you just please leave, Brad? Let me do my job as princess?" Brad looked hurt as he stood up from the throne, putting a hand over his heart, feigning a broken heart. "That hurt Celly, hit me right where I live?" "Uh, sir? Could you just please go?" One of the ponies in the steadily growing crowd asked as Brad kept ranting on. Not caring what the pony had said. Meanwhile. Me, Anise, Jane, Cole and Luna all sat in the rafters above the courtroom. Laughing our asses off as no one could hear us. The pony asked Brad to leave again and even went as far as to grab Brads arm and start dragging him. But Brad was having none of that. "Hey! I'm not fucking done with your princess you little shit!" Brad began yelling profanities as the pony while it looked like the stallion began to form tears in his eyes. But Brad didn't let up in his rant at the poor guy. Even if it was extremely funny. Celestia began to look extremely pissed off, but she must have like super hearing as she must have been able to hear out laughter over all the ruckus in the throne room. As she looked up to where we all were. Laughing uncontrollably. Her horn flashed and I appeared in a cell down in the dungeons. "Hopefully you six won't mind staying here for my day court! I'll see you when it's time to raise the moon Luna!" "Bummer...." Brad mumbled. I threw a piece of rubble up in the air and caught it in my palm. "Hey, Luna. How long does her day court usually last?" "It should be done by now... I don't know what she is waiting for." Brad let out a small cry declaring he was hungry. We agreed. "Seriously do all of her prisoners get shitty care or are we just an exception?" "Usually it's better than this. Maybe she forgot about us." Just then a brick from the wall to my right fell out, joining the growing pile of rubble. "Seriously, Cole. What are you doing?" I asked as Cole wiped his brow. "Tunnelling outta Shawshank, what does it look like?" I sighed audibly. And rested my head against the far left wall. "Wait... Celestia didn't take our weapons... Why the fuck are here!?" I face palmed as a cell door from two cells down blew off. "Oh yea, forgot." Anise said as she blew the smoke from her smoking sword. Chapter: 1I took my place in the pilots seat. Rubbing my eyes to rid them of the groggy feeling. Nobody else was up yet and the cockpit was quite dark. Four other seats sat infront of other control panels. I looked at the control panel, our destination on Equis would be reached in approximately five minutes. Looking out the cockpit window I could see that the planet greatly resembled that of Earth. But the land masses were not the same and there seemed to be more land than bodies of water. According to intelligence made by scouting teams that we sent into the galaxy, and the various trade routes we used to have with them. The residences here were, ponies. Ruled by a princess known as Celestia and could speak our language fluently. I flicked a couple switches above my head and slowed us down a little. Getting back out of the seat I left the cockpit and walked down the plain white hallway of our small spaceship 'The Avenger' to the sleeping quarters, where the other four members of the crew slept. Opening the door I flipped a switch on my right side and it bathed the room in a bright white glow. Our quarters were pretty bland, to say the least. Five beds lined the white walls. All of them were occupied. Except for one. My bed. I was greeted with a multitude of groans and someone said, "Five more minutes." "Wakey wakey everyone. Were approaching Equis, as always. We don't know what to expect, so get suited up." I was voted the defacto leader of the Five, being the lead engineer of our weapon. I turned back around and made my way across the hall to our little armoury. The residents of Equis were said to be non-hostile. But that's the same lie that was told to us by the Darkness. Six minutes later and we were all sitting in our respective chairs in the cockpit. Jane, our navigator has sky blue eyes and blonde hair that reaches down to the small of her back. She was around the height of 5' 6". Her jumpsuit was a grass green. She is the most serious of our group, often scolding us for cracking jokes at the worst possible times. Her weapon of choice was one of our earlier weapons. A bow. It was black and had a blue trim around the edges. The string, which is actually condensed laser, light glowed blue to match the trim. Brad, my co-pilot has brown eyes with short brown hair, he stood at a medium height and wore an all black jumpsuit. He is the fun one in our group. Always cracking jokes when we were supposed to be scared. He got alot of flak from Jane because of that. His weapon of choice was a rifle, it looked like an automatic rifle that the military on Earth so often used but it had white light running through tubes that lead from the clip and around the trigger. Anise. Our weapons expert is probably the least bright of our group. Most of the conflicts we came across she would say the solution would be to blow stuff up. Or to shoot anything that moves. She had black hair that ran down to the tips of her ears and brown eyes that had specks of green. She was around 6 feet tall and her jumpsuit was a dark blue with a black breastplate. Her weapon of choice was a sword, that while it looked like a sword it wasn't. There was a opening on the handle where you could stuff anything in there, pull the trigger and it would become a deadly projectile. It was of Anise's own making. And finally. Cole. He was the shortest of the group and the most diplomatic. We would be nowhere without him, as most of the races we encountered were reluctant to give up their resources. He had blue eyes with blonde hair that was just growing back after being buzz cut. His jumpsuit was a grey and he wore a black cloak. His weapon of choice was a long range sniper. It had a sleek black look and a red light that traveled from the barrel to the clip of the gun. Our ship. Which we named The Avenger. As we were on a mission to avenge the near extinction of our race was black and has a sleek look to it, good for camouflage while in space. One minute later and we were gliding over the tips of trees, nearing our destination. "Is everyone ready to go?" "Always am Nolan!" "Oh yea! I am itching for another fight!" "Anise, not everything is resolved by blowing shit up." I heard Cole remark. I smiled and shook my head. These two got at it all the time. I brought us in for a landing, we were located somewhere in a forest, and lowered the ramp. "We are just above our objective. So lets go!" We raced out of the cockpit and down walked around, looking for anything that would lead us underground. "Over here!" I heard Brad call and I jogged to his direction. There was a slight incline that lead down into a narrow ravine. "Ready?" I asked as I received nods from the four. We moved down the incline cautiously until we reached the bottom. The rock looked like it was cut away by the residents here, and was not at all natural. We proceeded deeper into the ravine, and soon it began to close up at the top. Only letting small rays of light in through the minuscule cracks in the rock, providing just enough light so we could see where we were stepping. Five minutes later a blue light appeared ahead of us. As we walked toward it, the light began to take the form of a tree. I looked at my digital map. The tree was our objective. We kept moving forward until we were about a hundred yards from the tree. After a quick once over of the strange crystal tree. I came to a conclusion. "The gems are not here." Twilight Sparkle stood on her balcony. Looking at the stars with her telescope. As she moved her view to the west and noticed something odd. There was a star, that was not present before in the sky. If it could even be called a star... It seemed to move through the sky, slowly growing larger. Shaking her head she rubbed her eyes. "Must just be my imagination. Its getting late anyway." She turned from her balcony and laid down. But she could not get to sleep. Not even the snoring of Spike. Her number one assistant could lull her into sleep. Twilight rolled over and stuffed her head into her pillow. "Why can I not stop thinking about that stupid star?" She groaned into her pillow. After hours of trying to get to sleep the sun began to poke over the horizon. Spike, Twilight's number one assistant sat up from his bed, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "Morning Twilight," He yawned before looking over to her bed, noticing she wasn't there, but her bed sheets were messed, showing that she was there at some point in the night. He walked down the stairs to the kitchen. Where he saw Twilight, in the reading room poring over books. "Uh, Twilight? You okay?" Spike asked, worried. Twilight looked up from her book, eyes bloodshot. "I saw something last night Spike, and its not anywhere in my books!" She gestured to a pile of over thirty books to her right. She did a quick once-over of the one she was on now before her horn flared a purple light and it went over to join the reject pile. She sighed... "Spike. Take a letter." Princess Celestia arrived as soon as she could. "What was this anomaly you witness last night my faithful student?" "I.... I don't know, Princess. It was weird. Not the same color as a shooting star, yet it almost seemed like one. I haven't been able to get it out of my head since." Princess Celestia, however didn't hear the rest of her story. 'Could it be? A shooting star, yet not really... If Twilight thinks it's some sort of anomaly. Then it must be them. They have come back... The Guardians have finally come back.'[/i Author's Note Just as a heads up. It was only me who edited this story. So if you would like to sit down and read through my... Prologue///Celestia\\ Princess Celestia sat in her bedchambers. And I have not yet decided
Chapter: 2////Nolan\\ I sat in the cockpit of The Avenger, poring over certain books on what these gems may look like.
But for now we need to discuss your safety."
Chapter: 4////Captain Kain\\ The Zorotorian captain slammed a titanium clad hand into the table. denting it a little.
-Sun, outro
Intermission: What Guardians Do on Their Spare TimeAuthor's Note I wrote this as a sort of 'for the lolz' type deal.
