The Love of Rainbows

Chapter 5

“Hey!” I woke up with Rainbow Dash’s bright blue face in mine.

“Jesus! You scared me!” I exclaimed, jumping lightly.

“Jesus? It’s Rainbow Dash, silly.” She giggled as I sat up.

“What’re you doing here, Rainbow?” I asked, looking into her .. Beautiful rose-y trimmed eyes.

“What else? I told you I’d check up on you.” Rainbow Dash giggled and looked brightly into my grey eyes. She seemed very enthusiastic about seeing me.

“What has you so excited?” I asked her. Initially I’d expect her to be out looping around and doing barrel rolls. Not in here with me.

“Well.. Today I was wondering if you’d like to watch me perform some new tricks? All my friends are bu--”

“Wait, I slept for an entire day?” I exclaimed, interrupting her, worried.

“Yeah, but, it doesn’t matter though. Anyways, my friends are busy and you’re the only one I know who might want to.. Uhm.. Hang out.” She started brushing the back of her neck with her hoof neverously.

“Well.. I will once I get a fresh pair of--”

“Here you are!” She threw clothes in my face; interrupting me.

“How did yo--”

“Well you had dirty .. Uhm.. Pyjamas yesterday.. So I took the liberty of.. Maybe.. A tiny bit of.. Looking at the size of them and getting some made for you!” She interrupted me again. I looked at the clothes. Denim blue jeans with a bright blue shirt.

“Well, let me get dressed, then.” I stood up, sliding off the bed, and felt a breeze. It was pretty cold. I had a strange feeling. All I heard was giggling behind me. I looked down and realised my..

“Oh dear God!” I quickly wrapped blankets around me and Rainbow Dash busted out laughing.

“Rainbow!” I yelled at her.

“Oh..! That’s rich! Hahaha! I didn’t know humans’ behinds looked like that!” She laughed hysterically.

“Rainbow, that’s not funny.” I said. The comment made me worried whether or not I was good looking. I mean she is a Pegasus. But it still makes me wonder..

“I’m sorry. Go get dressed, please.” She smiled. The thought bugged me though. Maybe keep it for later.

After about twenty minutes of getting dressed, in a very small bathroom space, me and Dash went out to a large clearing. There was a beautiful, glimmering, blue lake and a vast amount of flowers. Daisies, roses, tulips; you name it!

“Alright, here we are! My home away from home!” Rainbow Dash started flying about. I watched her and sat in a small patch of grass. I respected their environment and didn’t really want to harm the flowers. They were relatively gorgeous.

“Hey! Watch this!” She yelled in the air as I looked up.

She ascended about, what I’d say to be, 100 feet and then descended. She swished past a large area of flowers and me. The peddles of the flowers broke off and it made a beautiful rainbow-like swirl. Unfortunately my hair was now all messed up. Not saying it was beautiful to begin with.

“Hehe!” Rainbow Dash was giggling as I fixed my hair.

“Having fun?” I looked up to meet Rainbow Dash’s rose-y eyes. She nodded.

“It’s always fun. Too bad you can’t fly, though.” She lowered herself next to me.

“Back on Earth, we have airplanes to fly. Large machines built to travel amazing distances and hold aerodynamic properties. You’re probably faster than our airplanes, though.” I said. Scratch that, though. She is faster than an airplane.

She just giggled and took off again. She did a lot of barrel rolls and eventually started piercing the clouds. I enjoyed watching her. Her mane flowing into the wind. Her elegant figure defying the laws of physics themselves. Her existing just bringing joy to my heart. She truly was my idol at this point. Everything she was doing appeared to me in a sparkle haze, like you would see in some anime where a guy is staring at a girl and getting heart shaped eyes.

To think of it.. I feel like.. I’m falling in .. No.. I’m not.. I..

“Hey! We have a storm coming in! We better head out of here!” Rainbow Dash pointed to large clouds being moved in by a few weather pegasi.

I nodded and sat up, jogging lightly to Ponyville. Rainbow Dash was by my side in seconds.

As we entered Twilight’s house, the rain started to fall and beat heavily on the tree. It scared most of the citizen’s of ponyville, seeing that normally they’re well informed of a storm. It must’ve been some order by Celestia, or something.

“Whew. Close one.” Rainbow Dash shook herself of some rain that did catch us as we entered. She was shivering too.

“Yeah..” I walked over to a couch that Twilight had laid out. Must be for me, because that wasn’t there before.

I sat down and Rainbow Dash hopped up next to me. The couch was getting lightly damp, but she was still shivering. It was starting to bother me.

“Rainbow, are you okay? You look cold.” I asked.

“I.. I’m fine. It’s nothing.” She said, smiling gingerly.

“Rainbow, hypothermia can take limbs off. I can see you shivering. Would you like a blanket?” I asked her.

“Okay.. Yeah. Please?” Rainbow Dash blushed lightly.

I stood up and went up to the bed I was sleeping in. I ripped off the covers and walked back downstairs. After I arrived back at the couch, I handed her the white blanket. Rainbow Dash quickly wrapped herself in it as I sat down next to her.

“Thanks..” She said softly. I felt a warm mussel press against my side.

“You.. You’re welcome Rainbow..” I said. She couldn’t see it, but I was blushing. I didn’t expect her to be this close to me already. I always thought she was one for doing other things than this.

A bolt of lightning crashed down outside. It made Dash jump a bit, and she pricked my side lightly.

“Are you okay Dash?” I asked. She nodded in return.

“Yeah.. Uhm.. I know this’ll.. Sound weird.. But.. Will you hold me?” She looked up into my eyes.

I didn’t expect this. All my thoughts were racing. While her beautiful eyes were staring into mine, all I thought was “YES! I’LL HOLD YOU!”, but she’s a Pegasus! How can I fall for a Pegasus? Completely an opposite species! But she is so amazing.. Uhg! Damn you, Carl! How can you be like this?

My senses kicked in, and I had no choice.

“Yeah.. Sure. If it’ll make you feel better.” I smiled to show that I was content.

Rainbow Dash gently picked herself up and moved her forelimbs over my legs, laying her chest on my lap and her legs on my left side. She rolled over and I placed my arm under her head and cradled it into my arm. Like a child. Who was nearly as big as me.

“Thanks, Carl…” She said. She sighed lightly, pushing against the right side of her chest. Her ear lightly felt the sound of my heart through my chest. I tried to keep calm, but couldn’t help but be excited.

“Your heart.. It’s beating really fast.. Are you okay?” She didn’t open her eyes.

My face flushed extremely red at this point. I mean, I had friends who were girls. Like, the ones you know all your life and all, but I never held a girl like this. Let alone, a Pegasus!

“Yeah, yeah. Just.. You know.. Guys .. Err.. Need more.. Circulation and oxygen. Have to.. Get all the blood to the brain… erm..” I stuttered with my words a bit.

“Like.. Uhm.. Girls, or mares, are usually smarter than guys, so need less oxygen to think.. And guys need more.. Cause we’re a bit headstrong. Y’know?” I fumbled a bit when saying that sentence. God, I’m stupid.

“You’re funny, Carl.” She giggled and looked up at me. Her mussel extremely close to my lips. I felt her breath. It was warm. It smelled like mints. Like she brushed her teeth just seconds ago.

I felt like.. Doing something drastic. But my nervousness overcame my lust. And thankfully, Twilight walked in.

“Whew! Sure is rainy out there!” She exclaimed as she dispelled an umbrella.

“Yeah.. Rainy..” A green and purple scaled little dragon walked in, soaking wet.

“That must be Spike.” I said. Rainbow Dash was looking over at the mare and the dragon.

“Yup! Number one assistant!” he said drying himself off of all the rain.

“Hey, Twilight, mind if I stay here for the night?” Rainbow’s eyes were out of vision, so I couldn’t look at them for the time being. Let me think straight now, too.

“Not at all. We can have a little sleepover.” Twilight smiled.

“Why are you two cuddled up like that?” Spike looked confused as he walked over to the couch.

“Well… Y’know.. It was raining and we were cold. And the lightning kind of scared us.” I nervously spoke. Rainbow Dash agreed.

“Makes sense, I guess. I’ll be right back Twilight. I think I’m going to be in the basement. Gotta check up on that new Fire Ruby I’m maturing!” Spike quickly ran off to the inner-library, then into a door, going to his Fire Ruby.
