As the door opened, I saw her! The mare of all my dreams and the only reason I watch MLP. Rainbow Dash was standing there looking at me, but I saw such beauty in her presence; it was a feeling of extreme happiness and love. I couldn’t believe my eyes! I actually checked them a few times to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. I was standing there for a long time, but then I heard her ask, “Hello, how are you Controller Skies?”

I couldn’t respond, while staring deep into the violet eyes of the Pegasus I love so much, I saw through her visage. What I precept as the speedy daredevil turned out to actually love me back. I don’t know how I saw it, but I did. And the sight was beautiful; I could already imagine all the times we could have together. Soon, I finally responded to her question, “You have beautiful eyes!” When I said this, I saw guilt fall upon Rainbow Dash’s face, like something I said reminded her of some sort of bad deed she did. A tear fell from her eyes and then she wiped it away and said, “Thank you for the compliment. But I asked how you were?”
“Oh right! Uh…um… I am doing just fine, you look amazing.”
“What makes you say that?”
“Nothing! Um… did you notice my new suit?”
“Yeah, it looks pretty cool. But it needs to be about 20% Cooler.”
“haha, I love that line!”
“What?”
“Nevermind! Um… can I come in?”
“Sure, step right on in! Why were you staring at me for so long anyway?”
“Oh, I was just admiring your visage.”

Then I stepped into my dream’s household. This time I wasn’t trespassing like last time, and it was on purpose instead of an accidental teleportation. It felt so good! I was literally standing in the midst of my hero and dream special somepony! I felt like I was practically home already! Then Rainbow Dash spoke once more, “So, what do you want to eat?” I replied, “Um… I am not sure, but I was wondering if, maybe we could go eat at a restaurant or something.”
“Together?”
“Yeah… maybe.”
“I don’t think so.”

I was shattered! I felt rejected already, she but it so bluntly and simply, but it felt like she didn’t care about me! I already felt so connected to her, so it was a painful realization. But dreams can’t come true that quickly. I suppose I should’ve known better. Eventually, I snapped out of my gloom and said, “Do you like flying?” She responded, “Totally! Flight is a true passion of mine! I was born with the talent for extremely speedy flight and daredevil skills!”
“Do you want to race?”
“I’ll beat you, but okay! 123 GO!”

Then she launched away! I had no idea how to catch up! She just went WHOOSH and then she was gone in a flash of rainbow colors. I decided to at least try to follow, but little did I know that catching up to Rainbow Dash was going to be a lot easier than I thought. I flapped my wings really fast and launched myself in her direction at almost the same speed, but this made me realize that Rainbow Dash wasn’t using her maximum speed. I saw her relaxing on a cloud and then I landed on a cloud next to her. Then she said, “You know, the whole point of a race is to actually TRY to beat your opponent, not to sit back and watch them win.” Then I replied, “You took off so quickly, I thought I’d never be able to catch up! But I caught up somehow and now I’m here. I don’t feel exhausted either, I feel full of energy!”
“THAT is the feeling of true speed my friend!”
“It feels AWESOME!”
“You speak my language!”
Then she gave me a hoof bump and told me to race her again. I accepted and off we went! We were both flying really fast! I had no idea I could go just as fast as Rainbow Dash herself, but I did! It felt like nothing I’ve ever felt before! A freedom that is unparalleled by any other feeling of freedom I’ve ever had! We were tied and we crossed a finishing cloud at the same time. When I looked at Rainbow Dash, I saw her staring at me with her jaws open in amazement, and she said, “That was insane! How did you ever manage!? Nopony has ever caught up to me before, let alone TIED with me in a race! Who exactly are you!?” All I could say was, “I am just a pony who is following in your hoofsteps to become the second fastest flier in all of Equestria!”
“You’re aiming for the impossible and achieving it! How in the heck did you do that!?”
“I guess it’s just a matter of belief in oneself and willingness to do whatever it takes!”
“But, that’s what I do!”
“Well Rainbow Dash, I guess you and I are very similar in many ways. Look at my mane! It is in your mane-style, just a different color.”
“But, it’s… it isn’t… I don’t, our tails are the same too?”
“Yep, different colors, same style.”
“You have my attitude on you as well don’t you!?”
“Well, I don’t prefer formal attire, but if Rarity makes it for me, might as well accept it.”
“how do you feel about flying?”
“It is the best thing in the world!”
“Who is your greatest hero?”
“That would be you, Rainbow Dash.”
“Me? Why me?”
“Because, ever since I first saw you, I’ve been following your example every day!”
“But, I’m a terrible example to follow!”

“Not to me. To me, you are the greatest role model ever!”
“You really feel that way about me?”
“Yes, I really do.”
“Well… Race you to the weather corporation!”
“Wait WHAT!?”
Just like that, she took off once again; luckily her Rainbow Trail is easy to follow for somepony of my speed. I was always right behind her, until suddenly, I saw the light barrier break before my very eyes! Rainbow Dash was flying faster than I’ve ever seen her do it before, the Rainboom pushed me back and I lost my momentum, causing me to fall onto the clouds below. Gratefully, clouds are very soft, so it didn’t hurt when I landed. But I just saw Rainbow Dash do a Sonic Rainboom before my very eyes! It was amazing, and I felt extremely lightheaded after the explosion. I lost sight of Rainbow Dash now, but she told me that she’d be at the weather corporation, so that is where I was headed next.
When I took off, I tried to fly as fast as I could, but when I flew too fast, something kept bonking me back. I was assuming at this point that I had the potential to do a sonic boom as well. I flew faster and faster each time, but every time ending in getting launched back by the sound barrier. I didn’t know what to do except to fly slower. Eventually I made it to the corporation, but Rainbow Dash gave me a rather sour look and said, “Where were you!? I’ve been sitting here for hours and I never saw you until now, what were you doing!? I am not a very patient pony!” I felt really sad at this point but decided to reply strongly, “I was trying to do a sonic boom!” Then Rainbow Dash snickered and fell onto the floor, cracking up as if I told some sort of joke. And she wouldn’t be wrong if that is what she assumed. Attempting a sonic boom takes a long time to activate, let alone master! I was practically a laughingstock to her now.
But soon, she stopped laughing and noticed the serious look on my face, then she said, “You seriously attempted a sonic boom?”
“Yes! And I got really close too! I was just at the edge of the sound barrier before it continually launched me backwards over and over and over again!”
“Well, you’re new here and you already have potential to be a decent opponent. Okay, how about a hoof wrestle!”
“What!? Um… okay!”
We set up our hooves and put them in place. We grabbed each other’s arms and started to push each other at he count of 3. But 3 seconds later, she owned me. I could hear her laughing her mane off with my pathetic hoof strength. I was a twig compared to her powers! It was insane! Not only did I lose, I also felt a lot of pain. My hoof was practically broken! It hurt a lot! And it still does a little bit to this day. Talk about getting pwned! But then Rainbow Dash said, “You lasted 3 seconds with me, which is a new record for most ponies, except Applejack. But to be fair, she focuses mainly on her hoof strength while I focus mainly on wing power.” I assumed that she lost to applejack in a hoof wrestle from what she told me. It was pretty obvious. But that didn’t matter, because Rainbow Dash was still awesome!
Rainbow Dash began to take an interest in training me. Every morning from then on, she woke me up at 6am just to do wing ups and push ups. I also did a lot of weight lifting and suggested she do the same. She eventually started doing it and over a course of many days of training, I actually beat her in a hoof wrestle! It was the best feeling I’ve ever had! I actually beat RAINBOW DASH at anything at all! But when it came to races, she always cleared the sky with me. We grew closer and closer as friends, but even more so as student and teacher. Next time we hoof wrestled, she beat me again. I think she was lifting more weights now, because finally, the time came for Rainbow Dash and Applejack to hoof wrestle once again.
It was tense; the two ponies were locked in combat with one another. Rainbow Dash seemed to win at times, but Applejack appeared to have he advantage at other times. This went on for many hours, until finally, Applejacks hoof was being moved to the side. I watched in hope, waiting to see if this was actually a thing, many other ponies were watching as well. Applejack then started to fight back more! Now Rainbow dash seemed to be losing, but then, I remembered what I did to beat Rainbow Dash. She knew it too, so when she looked at me, I winked and she remembered. Then in a snap, Applejack’s hoof was pinned to the tree stump and Rainbow Dash was the victor! The crowed went wild! Rainbow Dash had such confidence while Applejack had a face that spelled total annihilation! I cheered especially loudly and Scootaloo was not far behind. At the end of the match, Applejack tilted her hat in Rainbow Dash’s direction and left without a single word.
All of that training really paid off! Rainbow Dash beat Applejack in a hoof wrestle! And it was all thanks to her teaching me to boost my flying skills while she increased her strength. Rainbow Dash was unstoppable now! What used to be Applejack’s victory was now Rainbow’s victory every time! Hoof wrestling: Defeated! Weight tossing: Annihilated! Strength test: Eliminated! And anything else that Applejack and Rainbow Dash competed in, Rainbow Dash came out with maximum domination! Then finally, after all of this happened, me and Rainbow Dash sat down together, just the two of us, and ate at the Hayburger.
I was ecstatic! I was actually on what seemed to be a date with Rainbow Dash! We were sitting together in a restaurant, eating hay burgers together. We were mostly silent until I just had to open my muzzle and said, “Well, this was some day! How are you Rainbow Dash?” Then Rainbow Dash smiled and said, “I fell AWESOME! I just wiped the floor with Applejack! It was amazing, I’ve never beat her in a hoof wrestle before! I guess all the strength training really worked!”
“I am glad to know that you’re happy now!””
“Happy? I’m more than happy, I’m ecstatic! Over the moon! Just perfectly fine!”
“Sounds like you are enjoying yourself!”
“Yes, I am, and I couldn’t have done it without you, thank you Controller!”
I was about to reply, but before I could open my mouth to say anything; Rainbow Dash surprised me with a kiss. It was at this moment that I knew, we were meant to be together. I was still in shock, but soon responded with a kiss of my own. We did it for a while. Until finally, I stopped and said, “Shouldn’t we finish eating?” Then Rainbow Dash nodded with a rather different smile than the one before and started to finish what was left of her meal while I did the same. When we were done, Rainbow Dash invited me to stay and sleep at her house for the night, and I couldn’t refuse.
So now, at the end of a triumphant month of so many accomplishments, Rainbow Dash went upstairs to her bed while I slept on the couch on the floor below. And I awaited the possible adventures to come!
