Dead in civilization

The storm had ravaged the small town, trees had been blown over and boulders had been pulled out the ground. Some trees that were stuck by lightning had static bouncing between the branches. Some patches of ground had been charred black by some not so lazy lightning and a few houses were worse for wear. Dead emerged from the tree house in the early hours of the day and surveyed the damage. A plan formulated in her mind.

Dead walked into the center of the town, the ground was still uneven from the Skeletal nightmare that had tried to break out. Dead decided that this would be a good place to start her plan. A few ponies were wondering around the town and seeing the damage for themselves. Dead approached the uneven ground and put her plan into motion, a quick spell that went undetected to those around was cast and after a few minuets of waiting a slight rumbling could be felt.

Dead grinned like a madmare as she received a few concerned looks from the ponies who were now running back to their houses. Dead chuckled as she thought about the best way to execute her plan, she didn't notice Twilight come up behind her.

"Dead! What are you doing?" Twilight asked as she took note of the rumbling patch of earth. "What are you up to?" Twilight said with a concerned tone. When the sinister looking mare didn't respond Twilight moved in front of her and violently shook her with both hoofs. "Dead! What. Have. You. DONE!" Twilight dropped Dead to the floor. The necromancer quickly got back up and maintained an evil grin. The uneven ground started to shake violently before it gave way and left a large hole. "Dead whatever you're doing stop!" Twilight ordered. However Dead seemed to be in a traced stated. A quick idea formulated in Twilight's head and she ran off.

Twilight had gathered her friends and they were in the center of town a second time, however this time Dead was encased is some magical aura that prevented anypony for getting close to her. Because it had been an hour since the whole thing started a large amount of ponies were in the town center waiting for something to happen. Twilight spoke to her friends.

"So any luck with snapping her out of it?"

"Nope, I don't know what she is doing but that shield won't let us get near her." Applejack stepped forward. "Not even Rainbow can get close enough to see what is going on in there!"

"I don't really want to go see Dead until I can answer her question, have you made any progress Twilight?" Pinkie asked with a hopeful grin.

Twilight slapped her hoof against her face. "Pinkie. For the last time, its a paradox it doesn't have an answer! Now we need to try and see what Dead is doing!" Twilight shouted. "Anypony have any ideas?"

"I could fly over and see if I could get a good view?" Rainbow suggested however just as she finished the magical field intensified and push the group back a few meters.

"As good a plan that is Rainbow," Rarity started. "She appears to casting a very powerful spell, it looks like most of the energy its being redirected up. I don't think it is that safe. What do you think Twilight?"

"Rarity is right, while we are getting some push back here, it looks like a lot of the spells energy is being sent up and out. If you were to fly up it would push you back until you couldn't see it."

"Do you know what she is up to Twilight?" Rarity asked.

"I don't know Rarity, I came out and just saw her. She was laughing like a madmare." Twilight sighed. "Do you think she has been planning this? Waiting for our guard to go down and then attacking us when we least expected it?"

"She did seem to know about the storm coming..." Rarity slowly said. "Even so this is Dead we are talking about, I don't think she could do something like this."

"But is it?" Twilight stated. "She has said several times that she has spend a thousand years alone. Who knows how long she has been planning... For all we know that might not even be the real Dead in there!"

"No! I don't believe that Twilight!" Rainbow shouted, it was true that she wanted to romantically involved with Dead however she did not want to think that the whole thing was a ploy. A set up to catch the elements of harmony when they are vulnerable. "Look I will prove it!" Rainbow shouted as she charged towards the unstable energy.

"Rainbow don't! That energy could tear you apart!" Twilight shouted however Rainbow kept charging, just before what Twilight had labeled the danger zone an invisible shield had appeared and shoved Rainbow back. "Rainbow, you're lucky... If there was no shield you would have been torn apart."

"How can this while thing be some sort of ploy... How can Dead of done that to us..." Rainbow said in defeat. "I..."

"Don't worry Rainbow, I'm sure we can..." Rarity started before a large energy spike caused the are effected by Dead to swell even larger, push the group back. "If we don't stop her soon the whole on Ponyville will be covered in that spell."

Suddenly the ground shock and the energy that had been swirling around Dead started to slowly draw back into her. An unnatural wind started to sweep through. "Something is happening!" Twilight called out promptly turning the heads of her friends towards Dead. As the energy slowly pulled back to its master. The group quickly rushed over to Dead however they paused when several skeletal claws emerged from the hole and started climbing out.
