Will usually kill you

Rainbow walked next to Rarity the two were heading away from the farm at a slow pace. "So tell me again, what do I have to do?" Rainbow asked.

Rarity let out a sigh. "This is the last time I will tell you Rainbow..." Rarity stopped and looked around to check if anypony was listening in. "Okay then. Phase one: Get Dead helping at Applejack's farm, more specifically helping Big Mac."

"Okay, I got that. What happens next?" Rainbow interrupted as Rarity explained.

"Phase two: You need to watch them, see how Dead acts around Big Mac. If she displays interest then we will know where her preference lies. However doesn't show interest we know that we have a chance."

"Hm, I see. What happens after that?"

"Provided that nothing happens between her and Big Mac. We can go in for the kill... So to speak."

"The kill!" Rainbow cheered. "Well I better get going to the farm! Lets hope any unforeseen consequences don't happen!"

"So you work here every day?" Dead asked as she levitated fallen apples into a waste basket.

"Eeyup..." The large stallion said as he trudged slowly through the orchard, pulling a waste bucket filled with branches and rotten apples.

"Wow, everyday?"

"Eeyup..."

"Don't you get board?"

"Eenope..."

"Huh okay then..."

A silence descended over the two as they worked. Up in the treeline Rainbow Dash sat with a notepad, she was taking notes about what the pair was doing. Once the two were out of range Rainbow took off and landed in a nearby tree.

Fifty minuets later...

"So..." Big Mac started. "Skeletons?"

"Oh yeah, I summon skeletons. Rather dull but they are better then zombies! A lot less mess to clear up! Heh..." Dead chuckled.

"Eeyup..."

Meanwhile Rainbow Dash had been taking notes, she noted that this was the second time that Big Mac had tried to make conversation, only to sandbag himself. Rainbow chuckled, she knew that Big Mac was just trying to be a good host, however he was hopeless when it came to long term talking.

Forty minuets later...

"So..." Big mac once again started. "How are you doing?"

"I am fine, thanks for asking. How are you holding up?"

"I'm fine. So what do you do? Besides skeletons."

"Oh, I try and help out when I can. Not everypony likes my methods."

"Ethnics and all..."

"Those! Yes, I know! They are annoying! I understand them, but I don't always like them."

"Eeyup, ponies trying to do the right things, but it causes the wrong things."

"You know it so well. I try and do well, but then some pony tells me that what I am doing is wrong gets in my way."  Dead sighed. "But even though they tell me to leave, I won't go until I have redeemed myself... Or so I say. I enjoy it here, a lot more then I thought." Dead rambled for a bit. "Oh listen to me ramble on!"

"Eeyup, but its fine really." Big mac stopped for a moment causing Dead to miss a few apples. "Sorry."

"No its fine," Dead caught the apples quickly and moved them onto the bucket which was now nearly full. "See. No problem. Want me to compact it again?"

"Eeyup!" Big Mac said happily. Dead's horn glowed white as the barrel hoovered while covered in the same white aura. The barrel made a creaking sound as it shifted around. The once full barrel was now filled with a strange goop. Dead then placed the barrel back on the cart and the pair the went on.

"So you got any plans for tonight?"

"None at all currently, my day was dedicated to helping clear up the town. I guess my day is free once I am done here."

"Fancy coming for dinner?"

"Sure, why not. Not like I have plans."

A dumbstruck Rainbow Dash flew out of the treeline at high speeds drawing the attention of both Big Mac and Dead.

"I guess she remembered she had something to do... I don't know why she was here though...."

"Eeyup..."

"I guess its just one of those 'Rainbow' moments!" Dead happily said as she was completely unaware of what Dash was really doing.

"Rarrrriiiiitttttyyyyyy!" Rainbow shouted as she crashed through the library window.

"Why do you thin Rarity is here?" Twilight asked as she looked at the once windowed hole in her house. "She is out shopping for supplies. I don't know why, she has all that stuff that Dead's minions brought over."

"Oh, uh sorry Twilight, she wasn't at home so I thought she would be over here. Anyway our plan went horribly wrong! I need to go tell Rarity what happened!" Rainbow frantically said as she picked up her notepad and went to fly out the hole she made, however Twilight garbed her tail with magic and planted her firmly on the floor.

"Now Rainbow, I want you to tell me about this 'plan' you and Rarity had conceded. Its not nice to go around planning things about your friends." Twilight said sternly as she shot a pricing gaze at Rainbow, who then cringed and tried to fly away only to be dragged back down. "Rainbow. Tell me what you two did."

"It was foolproof, nothing could have gone wrong! It was so simple!" Rainbow proudly said.

"So then what went horribly wrong?" Twilight sighed. "And what did you even plan?"

"Well it was a simple set-up. We got Applejack to tell Dead help Big Mac, to y'know see if anything happened that would suggest that Dead preferred stallions." Rainbow paused and checked to see if Twilight was following.

"Uh-huh. Go on."

"I was told to take notes and all. Look at this!" Rainbow passed the notepad to Twilight who glanced over it.

Alright Rainbow all you have to do is keep a log on what happens when Dead is with Big Mac, try and stay out of sight and make sure to take regular notes.

Ten minutes in: Nothing

Twenty minuets in: Nothing

Thirty minuets in: Dead tried to talk to Big Mac about something, however he quickly ended the conversation.

Forty Fifty an hour Seventy Eighty minuets in; Big Mac tried to talk to Dead about skeletons, he ended up sandbagging himself.

Ninety Hundred Hundred and ten Two hours in: They had a large conversation, well large for Big Mac. It is still going but it might end soon, Big Mac just stopped and Dead threw a few apples on the floor. She picked them up and did something to the barrel to make more room. Big Mac just asked Dead if she had any plans for tonight. Dead said no and how she is having dinner with him...

"Oh..." Was all Twilight could muster before she looked over the report again. "Did you not think that Big Mac might fall in love? You might as well made a love poison, and given them that!" Twilight huffed. "You tried to see what Dead preferred but you never thought of what might happen if Big Mac fell for her?"

"The worst part is... I don't think she is aware of it. I mean she is used to me being forward and all, but Big Mac was rather subtle about it, I saw him taking the odd glance at her but I though nothing of it. I just figured that he was keeping an eye on her." Rainbow fell to the floor and hid behind her wings. "I don't know what to do Twilight, I mean me and Rarity talked about sharing her, but what made that work was because were are close friends. And that we are both mares! I have no idea what to do..."

"Look rainbow, you got yourself into this mess. Well you and Rarity did, and you can pull yourselves out. my only jib is... Why didn't you just ask her? I mean with you being so forward, you basically ask her every time you see her." Twilight asked as she started to patch the hole in the wall up.

"I asked that but Rarity was worried that Dead would say no and then run away!"

"Look Rainbow, you and Rarity kept think that the worst would happen. And now it has! You two are on your own. At the end of the day I just hope that Dead doesn't find out. All this scheming and plotting..."
