Dead in civilization
Have things ever been normal?
Previous ChapterNext ChapterIts was late in the evening when the group arrived back. The sun was setting on the horizon and a cool breeze blew softly through the town. Twilight quickly left to go see Spike at the library, which despite Twilight's concerns was not a pile of ashes. Fluttershy said goodbye shortly after and left to tend her animals. Rainbow Dash took note of the clouds in the sky and flew off to clear them. Pinkie suddenly remembered that she had to go foalsit the Cake twins and Rarity left to go plan out a grand design. This left Applejack alone with Dead.
As much as Dead wanted to go home and tell Ditzy all about her time out, she had one pressing matter she need to talk to Applejack about. "Hey Applejack, can I have a word before you head back to the farm?" At the best of times they would talk for about five minuets.
"Why sure sugercube, whats on your mind?" Applejack spoke confidently, the two had tried talk more, however they were so different is so many aspects.
"Its something I am not overly proud of." Dead shuffled awkwardly, she wanted to avoid have this talk. "But if I don't get it of my chest..."
"Take your time, I ain't got to be anywhere right now." Applejack assured Dead, who was still shuffling around a lot. Applejack glanced over Dead's body language and picked up what it was about. "Is it about Big Mac?" Applejack asked rolling her eyes slightly.
"How'd you know?" Dead asked.
"Dead, your not very subtle." Applejack chuckled.
"Well how is he doing? I'd hate to cause an issue." Dead sighed.
"Hes fine, sure he was a bit jittery at first. But he got over it." Applejack said sternly.
"I see, well its good to hear that. I don't think I would have been happy with myself if I had dealt a lasting blow." Dead said, looking at the ground. "Maybe its better this way." Dead chuckled falsely. "Anyway I better head home." Dead turned and left Applejack alone in the town. On her way back Dead couldn't help but wonder what if.
Dead walked through the door, the main room was dimly lit. Dead could make out Ditzy sat down in the main room of the house.
"Ditzy!" Dead called out. "I'm home!" Dead laughed slightly as she called a second time.
"Dead!" Ditzy called out as she flew into Dead, pinning her to the floor and hugging her ruthlessly. Ditzy then started ruthlessly kissing Dead on her muzzle. "I missed you so much... Even if you were only gone for a few days."
"I missed you to Ditzy." Dead said returning Ditzy's affection. "Did I miss Dinky?"
Ditzy momentarily stopped. "She will be back next week... It was a mix up in communication. The school got the dates wrong. She was never here." Ditzy sighed and returned to hugging Dead. "So did anything unexpected happen while you were out?"
Dead pulled Ditzy into a long hug. "I talked to Rarity like you said..." Dead was interrupted as Ditzy quickly placed her lips on Dead's.
Ditzy pulled away from Dead. "And how did it go? Did you explain everything to her? Did she say yes?" Ditzy piled on the questions.
"Well..." Dead said, interrupting Ditzy.
"Did it not go so well?" Ditzy said sounding sad. "Dead?"
"No, it went well! I told her what you said and she was okay with it!" Dead said happily. "I suggested we have a date at some point."
"See Dead, I told you it would work out!" Ditzy kissed Dead a second time on the lips. Dead opened her mouth and aloud Ditzy's tongue inside her mouth. Dead moaned slightly as Ditzy wrestled against her tongue. Ditzy pulled away, leaving Dead slightly disappointed. "So did you organize anything?"
"Not yet, I just purposed the idea. I don't really know anywhere we could go." Dead said sounding defeated.
"I guess we should take it slowly then. I guess it didn't go as well as we had planned?" Ditzy said gently kissing Dead's muzzle.
Dead sighed. "What happened could only be described as Rarity being Rarity. I could tell her body was screaming to do something, but she kept telling herself no. I had to improvise..."
"I see." Ditzy said as she smiled at Dead. "I hope you didn't do anything too uncomfortable."
"It wasn't anything that I don't expect to get in the coming weeks." Dead chuckled.
"You're sure of that? I mean I could just kick you out." Ditzy joked. "Then where would you go?"
"Rarity's." Dead said bluntly. The pair went back to kissing and eventually broke off from each other. Just as Ditzy got up Dead spoke. "I love you Ditzy."
"I love you to Dead!" Ditzy said happily as she went back into the main room.
An hour later...
Rarity had left her house and had decided on an evening stroll. The cool wind blew through her mane, it was relaxing to say the least. Rarity was towards the center of the town, a few late night shops might be open.
"Rarity!" Pinkie shouted as she emerged from Sugercube corner. "Rarity, Rarity!"
"Pinkie, what brings you out at this time?" Rarity asked the bouncing pony.
"Oh not much, I just saw you coming and thought I would say hi!" Pinkie exclaimed. "Oh and also ask you what you are up to!"
"I'm just walking around Pinkie, nothing out of the ordinary sadly." Rarity chuckled. "How long has it been since we have had a normal day?" Rarity asked Pinkie.
"I dunno, like a billion million years?" Pinkie said. "Soooo how you doing?"
"I'm fine Pinkie, I just needed a bit of fresh air. It feels like ages since we left to follow Dead." Rarity sighed. "I wish that didn't seem so long."
"Yeah, I hear you Rarity. It felt like yeeeeaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrsssssssss!" Pinkie exclaimed. "I'm glad I can go back to making cupcakes and treats."
"Yes, quite." Rarity said causing a silence to fall over the pair.
After what seemed like an eternity Pinkie spoke up. "Are youuuuu... Looking for Ditzy's house?" Pinkie asked. "Because...."
"No Pinkie I am not right now, I'm just out walking. Nothing to it." Rarity sighed.
"Well..." Pinkie said subtly.
"No Pinkie, I don't need a double date party that would be." Rarity sighed a second time.
"Well if you ever do, you know where I live!" Pinkie exclaimed as she bounced back into the cake shop.
Rarity sighed as she walked through the town center, a old building that had been for sale for ages had a young colt stood outside. The colt was handing out information about a new restaurant that was going to be built in the old building. Just as Rarity decided on walking by the colt ran up to her and gave her a leaflet before she could argue. Not wanting to litter Rarity decided on giving the leaflet a once over before recycling it.
The leaflet explained how a new 'hip' eating establishment would be open withing a few weeks, it also listed a few celebrities who would be attending the event. Nothing really seemed to call out to Rarity until she glanced at the back. The back of the leaflet detailed the various seating arrangements however what caught Rarity's eye was how 'modern' the restaurant seemed. Rarity mulled it over in her mind a bit, a three pony relationship had never really been seen in Ponyville so none of the restaurants were set up with romantic settings for three.
After a few minuets of mulling it over Rarity decided it would be a good idea to inquire inside about how 'modern' the restaurant would be.
Painters, construction works and the odd interior decorator ran rampant in the inside of the building. In the middle of it a blue colt no older then Rarity wearing a scarf and shades was trying to organize the chaos.
"No no! Ah what are you doing!?" The colt called out. "The potted plants go outside!" The colt ordered a few ponies carrying plants outside. Rarity slowly approached the colt in the scarf and shades.
"Hello? Are you the manger?" Rarity asked the colt.
The colt looked at Rarity, tilted his shades and then levitated a notepad over. He quickly looked through the notepad. "No, no! You are not on the list of workers. A visitor perhaps?"
"Oh yes, I came to inquire about your restaurant." Rarity said politely.
"I see, the restaurant is not open for business now. But I can answer any questions you have." The colt said cheerfully. "Please do ask."
"Well I was wondering about..." Rarity started.
"Membership? Oh of course. A one off payment..." The colt happily sang out.
"Not membership, sadly." Rarity sighed. "I want to know about..."
The colt once again tried to guess what Rarity was saying. "Seating arrangements?"
"You are getting closer, but please I would rather explain it." Rarity sighed.
"Very well. I shall stop my guessing." The colt huffed.
"I have friends. Well two special friends." Rarity started. The colt nodded. "I was wondering if your restaurant would have any special seating arrangements."
"I see, what kind of special friends are we talking about. Special friends or special friends." The colt said, winking.
"Special friends." Rarity sighed. "Now please tell me you have something planned."
"Fortunately for you we do. As stated in the leaflet this is a modern restaurant. I hope to see you when we are open. Here take this." The colt handed Rarity three vouchers for a trial membership to the VIP section. The colt waved to Rarity as she left.
Dead and Ditzy were sat down in the front room of Ditzy's house. the fireplace was flickering as the flames started to die down. Ditzy got up and put a log in the fireplace.
"I don't know why you don't let me feed the fire Ditzy. It would be easier with my magic." Dead sighed as she sipped from a cup she was holding in front of her.
"I have always done the fireplace myself Dead. Maybe some over time." Ditzy said as she returned to her seat. The evening was really playing out well for the pair. It had been calm and Dead was able to tell Ditzy what had happened while she was out, and Ditzy had told Dead what had happened in Ponyville.
Knock-Knock-Knock
"We should get that Ditzy, even if it is late." Dead sighed. "Who would be knocking at this time..." Dead got up and went to go answer the door. However Ditzy beat her to it.
"You sit down Dead, I will get it." Ditzy insisted. Dead didn't argue and sat back down.
Ditzy went into the hallway and opened the door, to her surprise Rarity was on the other side.
"Good evening Ditzy, I was wondering if I could come in." Rarity said polity. "If that is okay with you."
"Of course!" Ditzy happily said. "It would be strange to never meet a pony I am dating."
"So Dead told you about it?" Rarity inquired.
"It was my idea Rarity, Dead was worried about damaging her relationship with me to do it without me telling her to." Ditzy sighed. "She worries too much. But do come in Rarity."
Rarity came into the main room of the house. Dead turned and looked over to her. "Rarity!" Dead smiled as Rarity walked into the room. "What brings you over at this?"
"Well Dead, I figured it would be a good idea to properly meet Ditzy." Rarity said as she sat down in the free seat in the room.
"Yes... It might have been a good idea to have us all meet and greet before we decided on this." Dead sighed.
"Well I know a lot about you Rarity, I mean you are one of the elements of harmony. I am more then happy to go on with this if it makes Dead and you happy." Ditzy said happily.
"Same here Ditzy, I am will give it my all Ditzy." Rarity said confidently.
"You two... I don't know what to say..." Dead stuttered. "However I have an idea of what we can do." Dead said she started walking towards the bedroom with unnaturally large grin on her face.
