"Well this sucks. I want to wake up." Dead sighed as the younger Dead ran circles around her.

"She so nice, she listened to me for three whole days!" The younger Dead want from running to dancing. "When will I see her again?"

"Well, soon. probably... From what I have heard Twilight can keep a promise, except that one time." Dead sighed happily. "That was a funny story indeed." Dead got up and joined younger Dead in her dance. "You know, I really need to relax more. I get so caught up in things I fail to see the little things that make it better." Dead chuckled as younger Dead swooned into her.

"You have really perked up a lot Dead, what happened to you?" Younger Dead asked.

"I had an epiphany, or something spiritual like that." Dead chuckled as younger Dead stood up and danced again. Dead sat back down on the grassy hillside.

"Well good for you Dead, I hope life works out for you!" Younger Dead laughed and then sat down next to Dead.

"So whats gotten into you then? I can tell something happened to you." Dead laughed as she poked younger Dead in the side.

"I think I have Twilight fever..." Younger Dead chuckled. Dead looked at her with a puzzled expression.

"You mean love fever?" Dead said curiously.

"No I did mean it. Its like love. But quite there. Its kinda like a mix between how you feel for your marefriends and Skullworthy." Younger Dead finished and looked at Dead, who look mighty confused. "Dead, you alright?"

"Yeah, just trying to process what you just said." Dead rubbed her forehead with her hoof. "I think I understand it." Dead sighed and chuckled.

"Anyway, I told her out life story. I hope you don't mind." Younger Dead said nonchalantly.

"Yeah that's fine... WAIT WHAT!?" Dead exclaimed as she rose up and started hyperventilating. "Why did you do that?"

"Cause..." Younger Dead got up and tackled Dead to the ground. "Shes a nice pony and I know we can trust her." Dead calmed down slightly.

"Okay, I think I can justify your actions. I don't agree, but it could have been worse."  Dead sat upright once younger Dead had gotten off her. Younger Dead sat down next to her. The pair fell silent.

"Hey Dead, do you ever think you would be able to ascend?" Younger Dead asked, breaking the silence.

"You mean into an Alicorn?" Dead replied.

"Yeah, I mean Princess Cadance was able to." Younger Dead stated.

"I guess I could. I know how to, its just really really risky." Dead paused for a moment and placed her hoof on her chin. "If I recall I need Alicorn bones. I don't really know how to get those but sometimes they pop up while I am bone-calling. If I can make a skeleton I will be able to fuse it to me, replacing my current one. From there my... Our body will adjust to cope with the change. Effectively making us an Alicorn." Dead stated while younger Dead listen in awe.

"I thought Princess Luna and Celestia were the first two Alicorns, are you suggesting there were more before them?" Younger Dead puzzled the regular Dead.

"Not entirely, Alicorns are made up of the three types of ponies. I think deep underground a magical energy leaks somewhere... I just need to find where... But anyway this 'leak' seems to fuse bones. I have taken to naming it the Bone-weaver's folly. And when I say fuse I don't mean like what I do where I make something new. The bones have to be identical in almost every aspect for it to work." Dead sighed. "You should know what we have."

Younger Dead mulled the statement over before she remembered. "Yes, we have the wings, horn and skull. We got them when we found the folly for the first time... And the folly isn't underground, its in our house! Dead..."

"I don't know why I am hiding this from you... Sorry but no, I won't. In the current state of Equestria it would only mess things up. Also collecting all the bones, and making sure they are perfect will take me years." Dead sighed, she had hopped that younger Dead would have no 'bright' ideas. "I know I lied about well everything just then, but the last thing we need is a huge surge of power that could drive me insane."

"Alright I will drop the matter for now, but I think it would be something we should look towards." Younger Dead huffed.

"Thank you, its not that I don't want to. Its just not really a good idea right now." Dead sighed. "By the way, how long has it been since I passed out?"

"Eh, about five. Give or take a day or two. Hey you got any idea when we will wake up? I mean it might take a bit longer because I had to push Twilight out." Younger Dead sighed.

"I don't know, maybe a few more? The hibernation shouldn't take longer then a week." Dead said happily. "So not too much longer." Dead sighed. "I'm waiting for the moment I finish a sentence like that and wake up right after finishing..."

"Ha! Like that will ever..."

"GAHHHHHH!" Dead rolled of the sofa and landed on the floor. She looked around and started chuckling. "It happened!" Dead pulled herself up and looked around. "And the time is?" Dead looked for the clock. "Midday, lovely." Dead sighed. "I guess everypony is out." Dead sighed. "I really need to stop talking to myself, its making me look crazy."

"To be fair, I think you have always been a bit crazy." A voice said from upstairs. "And yes, Twilight is out at the moment. I don't know what they are up to..." The voice moved to the stairway.

"Hey Spike, long time no see." Dead said happily. "Well maybe for me, I expect you have seen me a lot as of late."

"Pretty much, Twilight has been logging your sleep. You snore really, really loud by the way." Spike chuckled as he walked downstairs. "Well I guess I don't really have to worry about it anymore."  Spike crossed the front room and made his way into the kitchen. "Fancy some ice cream? It won't look so bad if you have some as well."

"Sure, ice cream is always good. Especially when you have just woken up." Dead chuckled as she went into the kitchen in search of the frozen dessert. "So how has things been?"

"Hectic as normal, Ditzy, Rainbow and Rarity kept coming to see you." Spike said, pretending he didn't know what it meant. "But anyway Dead, how have you been?" Spike innocently asked Dead.

"Its been good, spent the last five days in my head. Twilight stayed for a while but I didn't talk to her much." Dead chuckled happily as Spike fished out the tub of ice cream. Just as Spike opened the ice cream tub a brief rumbling shook the house. "Hm? I didn't call any skeletons up." A the sound of the door being opened drew Dead out into the front room.

The floating skull in the room was a dead giveaway to who was visiting. "Dead! Madam! It is good to see you awake. I called earlier but you were still asleep."

"Its good to see you as well Skullworthy. How have you been?" Dead asked as the skull floated towards her.

"I have been fine, the house has been fine. Save a few timber wolfs attacking the food stocks. Everything has been quiet." Skullworthy said happily as he bobbed up and down. "A few of the troops have been wondering if you will need them again, I told them that they would know if you did."

"I see, so everything is going well?" Dead asked happily as the grabbed the skull and hugged it. "I've missed you so much!" Dead said as she sighed happily and let the skull go.

"Everything is going well, and the feeling is mutual." The skull sang out happily. "And it is good to see you as well Spike, it has been a long time."

"Y-Yeah! Its good to see you to Skullworthy. How the afterlife treating you?" Spike chucked as he finished. "Sorry couldn't resist."

"Very funny Spike, and the afterlife has been very good for me so far. Speaking oh which, I need to ask you something, something in privet." The skull said evilly as it drew it gaze over to Dead. "But not now, after we have caught up."

"Alright Skullworthy, I can lend my ear." Spike said happily.

"So Skullworthy was there something on your mind?" Dead asked.

"Well, some of the skeletons have been talking about the lich..." Skullworthy began. "They seem to think it is regaining its power."

"This is mighty troubling, I knew it would be able to regenerate but not this fast. How much longer do we have?" Dead asked.

"A few months at minimum, a few decades at maximum. Should I start preparing for a Delta Echo Alpha Delta event?" The skull said nervously.

"Yes..." Dead began. "Is that all?"

"As it stands, now if you don't mind..." The skull started.

"Of course, I will go see if I can find Ditzy. She will be happy to see me." Dead chuckled as she left.

"Spike I have one word for you. Birthday. It is coming." The skull said sternly.

"You mean Dead's birthday is coming up?" Spike questioned. "Really how close?"

"In three days! She thinks that I forgot, but I never do! I will try and find the one your friends call Pinkie Pie, but in case I don't it all rests on you Spike."

"Alright! You came to the right dragon, now I just need to ask. How old is Dead?" Spike asked, the dragon skull dropped to Spike's height and whispered in his ear. "Wow, that's a lot of candles... I don't think we have that many in Ponyville."

"I would avoid reminding Dead how old she is... The last thing we want is for her to feel old on the her birthday." Skullworthy bobbed back up and looked down at Spike. "I trust you will do a good job Spike, now I must try and find..."

"PINKIE!" Pinkie shouted as she burst into the room. "I heard something say the BD word and it didn't end with SM!" Pinkie shouted as she bounced around the room on her tail. "So who's birthday is it? Wait let me guess!" Pinkie exclaimed as she stopped bouncing. "Is it mine? No I would know if it was mine... Is it Twilight's? No, she is terrible at hiding it. Can I have a hint?" Pinkie asked.

"The floating skull in the room should be a giveaway Pinkie." Spike rolled his eyes and Pinkie turned and faced Skullworthy.

"Oh its the skull's birthday! Happy birthday Mr Skull!" Pinkie sang out, throwing confetti into the air. The blank looks she revived from Spike made her pause. "Not the skull? Then who?"

Spike sighed and face-palmed with a force that nearly threw him back. "Its Dead Pinkie, you know the necromancer who had been living in Ponyville for the past few weeks." Spike sighed. "Its her birthday in three days and Skullworthy wants us to prepare a party for her."

"Ooo! I have never done a party for a pony who is obsessed with the dead! I will do my best!" Pinkie saluted and began to make her way to the door. "Now, I have some planning to do! TO THE PINKIE CAVE AWWWAYYYYY!" Pinkie shouted as she charged out of the library.

Skullworthy laughed. "And yet I find her to be more sane then Dead! Haha!" Spike joined in and soon they were both rolling on the floor laughing. "I do believe I made a pun!" Skullworthy calmed down and floated into the air. "I will provide you with a list of things that you might want to include in the party, that shout help you and Pinkie prepare. Now I must be off. Good luck Spike!" The skull shouted as it vanished in a puff of white smoke.
