Five Nights at Freddie's
Night 1: Things that Go Bump in the Night (Part 2)
Previous ChapterNext Chapter"You work here?" Night Watch asked, brushing off the excess party favors.
"Well, yeah," Chica said with a raised eyebrow, "We're the main attraction."
"Y-Yeah, that's true."
"Night Watch, was it?" she asked, pointing a feathered finger at him.
"Yes."
"Father told us a bit about you," she said, "And you're going to work for the week?"
"Yes."
"To be honest with you, this is the first time someone actually talked with us."
"Really?"
Chica nodded. "All the other security guards would just huddle in the camera room and wait until dawn." Her expression fell. "All of them we're too scared to meet us."
Night Watch caught another look from Bonnie and promptly back at Chica. "There's only ponies in Manehattan," he said, "There aren't any birds or bunnies running around."
"There's earth ponies, unicorn, and pegasi," Chica said, "What's the difference?"
"They're different kind of ponies," Night Watch replied, "And I'm a pegasus. Your father a unicorn."
"He did say something like that," Chica said, "We're just a bit curious." She leaned close towards Night Watch and stroked his wings. "You can fly?"
"Yes, I can."
"I've heard that birds fly," Chica said, flapping her wings, "But look at me," she said, ruffling her metal feathers.
“You’re just… different, that’s all,” Night Watch said, scratching the back of his head.
Chica gave a smile. “Father said to be proud of it. But I don’t know why he’s blocking us from the outside world. There’s more out there, y’know?”
Night Watch gave a smile back in return. He nodded.
“Now, enough of us,” Chica said, “More about you.”
“Me?” Night Watch asked, pointing to himself. He looked around him and pointed to himself again. “Me.”
Chica giggled. “You’re the only one here. Of course I’m talking about you!”
“Oh,” Night Watch said, rubbing his hands and turning red in the face, “Uh, well, my name is Night Watch. I live in the Manehattan Apartments not far from here.”
“What about your life story?” Chica asked, “I’ve never heard one before!”
“Really? Not even one?” Night Watch asked.
“Well, I heard my father’s story over a dozen of times. But I want to hear a new one.”
“Eh. Hm. My life story isn’t exactly the best and cheerful one,” Night Watch said, “But I’m glad to tell-”
A giant crash in the restaurant made Night Watch jump to his hooves. “What was that?”
“That’s probably Freddie,” Chica said, pointing towards the opposite direction of the noise, “He’s just-”
She paused. And then faced where Night Watch was looking towards. Chica then looked at Pirate’s Cove. “I don’t know what that was,” she whispered.
“Stay close by me,” Night Watch said, grabbing his Torch, “I don’t want you to wander off.” Chica nodded. Bonnie stuck close and followed behind Chica. That noise, Night Watch thought, sticking close to the walls, It’s from the kitchen.
He remembered stepping inside there with the cooks baking the hot pies. It was a warm and cheerful place that. However, there was only an audio camera from the room. By the gods that they knew what held in store for him.
The next thing he knew, he was in front of the kitchen doors. He placed his palm on the cold door and pushed it open. He looked back at Chica and Bonnie. “Stay here,” he whispered. The two nodded. Night Watch stuck his head inside, but only saw the black color of darkness. Jeez. It’s fucking dark.
Taking baby steps into the kitchen, he clicked on his Torch. The bright light reflected off the shiny steel equipment. He grimaced at the blinding light until he saw an eye catching color. He got on his hands and knees and shined the light underneath a stove. A pink color was snuggled up next to the other side.
Night Watch got up and walked around, the Torch heaving a huddled mass beneath a sleeping bag. He made a face and got on his knees. Night Watch placed a hand on it and began to shake it. A voice suddenly gave a shout of giggles before a pink furry head popped at the front of the sleeping bag.
“Hey, who’s there?” a familiar voice asked.
Night Watch saw the back of the head and looked down. His hand was where the hindquarters would be. He got red in the face and took his hand off. It took a second for his brain to comprehend that the pony from this afternoon was in front of him.
“You’re-”
“Yep! I’m Pinkie Pie!” she said, “I remember you, Night Watch!”
He became baffled and tripped on his words. “Wha-wait, what, why are you here?” he asked, “It’s late in the night and you’re sleeping on the kitchen floor of a family restaurant in a tiny sleeping bag!!”
“I have a party to host tomorrow, silly,” Pinkie Pie said, sticking her tongue out, “I have to be ready!” She slid out of the sleeping back and was wearing a small onesie.
Night Watch put a finger up to talk, but couldn't find the words. “Okay, fine,” he said, putting up his hands in surrender, “But why didn’t you tell anyone about this?”
“I did,” Pinkie Pie said, stuffing her sleeping bag into a much bigger bag, “I told my friends and Mr. Brazzers.”
“Frazzers.”
Pinkie Pie made a funny face. “Huh. That was his name?”
Night Watch was in disbelief. “Yeah, it is!”
What Night Watch had to go through next was the rambunctious pink pony chat up with the mechanical animal, Chica.
2:06 A.M.
“I’ve never seen an earth pony this close up before!” Chica exclaimed, petting Pinkie Pie’s hair.
“And I didn’t know that this place had you guys!” Pinkie Pie said, “Oh, I’m so excited for tomorrow!”
The two chatted away as Night Watch and Bonnie awkwardly waited by sitting next to each other. The bunny was tiny compared to the pegasus. He sat against the wall and legs apart to support his body. Bonnie sat by keeping her legs straight and looked down.
Night Watch snuck a few looks of Bonnie time to time, waiting for the opportunity to chat. However, all his eyes did was go to her face, chest, hips, and long slender legs. He felt sweat beading up on his forehead. By the gods, it seems like she’s an actual girl. However, he noticed he carried a conversation with Pinkie Pie just fine.
Huh.
“Um, Night Watch?” Bonnie asked, a cute voice escaping from her mouth. He looked over to see the pair of shy eyes. “I’m sorry for what happened…”
“Hey, no sweat!” Night Watch said, lightly wiping his forehead.
Bonnie sat silent for a moment. “You’re… curious of us, aren’t you?” she asked, “I’ve been watching you ever since you came.”
“Well, er, yeah,” Night Watch replied to the somewhat creepy comment.
“I’ll tell you the story of my father and how we got created.”
~
My father was a young unicorn with very bright ideas. He grew up in Canterlot and moved to Manehattan. He was fascinated with this ‘electricity’ and life itself. He had a passion for science naturally. However, it was only a few years ago when we were created.
Freddie was born. And my father was happy. He circuited metal frames from a junk site. Soon, Chica and I were created. However…

“My father soon got short on money keeping us alive,” Bonnie said, staring down at the floor, “He had more dreams to expand his skills. But he turned towards this restaurant to keep us happy.” Bonnie gave a sad small smile. “We can’t let him down.”
“Wait, Freddie,” Night Watch said, “The bear, right?”
Bonnie gave a quick nod. A low rumble came from the bowels of the restaurant. “He must be waking up right now.”
