Five Nights at Freddie's
Day 2: Diamond Tiara's Birthday
Previous ChapterNext Chapter6:13 A.M
Night Watch’s eyes sagged from the long night before. He groggily sat in a seat and crossed his arms. Closing his eyes, he gave himself a well earned rest. Freddie, Chica, and Bonnie stood in their rightful places on the stage and watched Pinkie Pie pull out something from her bag.
“What’s that?” Chica asked, pointing towards the light blue object.
“Just my party cannon,” she said, aiming at the throne seat. However, it was the seat that Night Watch sat at. With the press of a button, balloons, confetti, and streamers exploded. Decoration went to the ceiling and walls.
Night Watch sat up high in his seat, his red eyes bulging from the sudden racket. A party hat snugged onto his head while he had a party favor in his mouth. However, from the shock he received, he was hyperventilating through the party favor. Head to hoof in glitter and confetti, he began to shake and twitch.
“Good morning!” Pinkie Pie said in a sing songy voice. Night Watch continued to breathe in quick short repetitions. “Now,” she said happily, “What should we use?”
Night Watch’s rapid breathing seemed to answer her question. “You’re right!” she said, “More decorations!”
“Did he just say decorations or no?” Freddie asked, pointing a finger towards Night Watch. Chica shrugged.
Pinkie Pie skipped around the tables and threw streamers, balloons, and glitter up in the air. It magically stuck to the walls, leaving Night Watch in a comatose state. His eyeballs rolled to the back of his head and crashed down to the ground.
“It feels like I’m missing something…” Pinkie Pie pouted, with a finger on her chin. The pink pony saw Night Watch on the ground and thought for a second. “I forgot the cake!!” she exclaimed, before heading out towards the door. “I’ll be back soon!”
The pegasus on the ground gave a loud groan before heaving a sigh. “Kill me.”
11:00 A.M
Here at Freddie Frazzbear’s, it’s all and good fun! But remember, the fun has just begun! Freddie sang with a goofy smile. The little fillies and colts cheered and laughed, watching the mechanical animals on stage entertaining them. Night Watch sat on the side, unaware of a few kids plastering stickers all over him.
He was in a chair with his arms crossed. Tired from the night before, his mind and body was pleading for rest. The sounds; the sounds of laughter, conversations, and music was soon drowned out by his mind.
“I never knew they had a ‘Sticker Booth’,“ a little sky blue filly said before slapping a smiley face sticker on Night Watch’s knee.
“Me neither,” a gray colt replied. “But I guess we’re the first ones to use it.”
At a nearby table, Pinkie Pie was preparing for the party. “Oh, Diamond Tiara is going to love it!” she said, squealing with delight. She glanced over at Night Watch and giggled. “Looks like he’s having fun.”
The filly poked Night Watch in the ribs. “Wow, he feels like a real pony.”
“Really?” the colt asked before patting his coat. “Yeah, you’re right.” At this, he climbed onto the side of the chair and poked his snout. “It feels all too real.”
Night Watch snorted and blubbered, scaring away the filly and colt. He gasped and coughed and brushed himself. However, his fingertips picked up the stickers on him. Night Watch blinked and sighed. The loud noise hammered his senses from just waking up. He yawned and walked over to Pinkie Pie.
“So, why am I here again?”
“To help me with the party, silly filly!”
Night Watch looked at the party area. Decorations were set up, tables were ready, and everything was in order. “Help with what?” he asked.
“It’s your job, isn’t it?” Pinkie Pie asked.
Night Watch was confused. “Me?” he said, pointing to himself, “Job?”
“You’re the security guard, aren’t ya’?”
“I only have the night shift,” he replied, “I don’t think I can-”
“Of course you can! You’re a security guard!” Pinkie Pie said, slapping a party hat on the pegasus and smothering him with confetti. Night Watch’s baggy eyes were not amused.
“Night Watch?” Mr. Frazzers asked, walking in with a folder under an arm. “Why are you still here?”
“Long story…” he replied, scratching his chin.
Mr. Frazzers gave a nervous chuckle. “Uh, just so you know that you won’t be paid for this shift,” his voice turned into a mutter in the end.
Night Watch rubbed his eyes. “Yeah, yeah.” Pinkie Pie jumped into the conversation. “He’s just helping me with the party, Mr. Brazzers,” she said, “He’s my friend y’know.” She grabbed him around the shoulders and hugged him tight.
“Gwah!” Night Watch grunted, feeling Pinkie Pie’s iron grip constrict him.
“I see,” Mr. Frazzers said, oblivious of Night Watch’s face turning blue. “Well, good luck on Diamond Tiara’s party.”
Pinkie Pie winked. “Don’t worry, I know how to work parties,” she said as Night Watch continued to struggle.
“Daaad, why did you put the party here?” a filly’s voice asked.
“You’ll like this place, Diamond Tiara,” Filthy Rich replied, walking in with his daughter. “It’s quite nice here.”
“Hey Diamond Tiara!” Pinkie Pie greeted with a smile and a wave. She threw Night Watch into a seat and bounced towards her.
“P-Pinkie Pie?” the pinky filly asked.
“I know how you like her parties, dear,” Filthy Rich said, “How about it?”
“If it’s Pinkie Pie’s, I guess it’s alright.”
“You won’t be disappointed!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed with glee. Stars in her eyes twinkled brightly.
“Rich, hello there,” Mr. Frazzers said with a small bow. Filthy Rich gave a smile. “Ah, yes, Frazzers, nice to see you here. I need to have a discussion with you.”
“Hm? Why, yes, please, come to my office.”
“Who’s that?” Diamond Tiara asked, pointing towards Night Watch.
“He’s the bodyguard here,” Pinkie Pie said.
Diamond Tiara gave the “up-down” on him and gave a ‘Huh.’
“The party will start in about thirty minutes,” Pinkie Pie said, “Just get comfortable and wait, okay?”
Diamond Tiara nodded. Around this time, Night Watch regained consciousness and took a deep breath. The small filly hopped on the seat next to him.
“Ow, what hit me?” he said, giving a stretch, “I’m blacking out too much. Must be because of my sleep deprivatio-”
“Why are you talking to yourself?” Diamond Tiara asked, scaring the hee-jeebus out of the dark stallion. With a heart around his heart, he sighed. “Oh, it’s just you.”
Diamond Tiara raised an eyebrow at this. “What do you mean by that? I don’t even know you.”
“I-I meant that I was just acknowledging that you were a filly,” Night Watch said, putting his hands up defensively.
“And you’re my bodyguard?” she asked. She gave a tsk.
What’s the attitude with this girl? But Night Watch shook that comment off. He grinned. “Yeah, I’m your bodyguard. Do you have a problem with that?”
“Yes.”
Night Watch felt an ice shard penetrate his heart. And this is the girl who’s having the birthday party? He gave a nervous chuckle. “Well, I guess you’re stuck with me, huh?” Night Watch gave a pat on Diamond Tiara’s head. She immediately swatted his hand away.
“Don’t touch me!” she said, blushing red in the face.
Damn, she’s cute. “I’m sorry. I won’t-”
“C-Can you do that again?” she asked, looking away, “It actually, felt good.”
“This?” Night Watch asked, lightly patting her head. Diamond Tiara purred and snuggled against the chair. I-I should stop doing this. “H-Hey, it’s your birthday, right?” Night Watch asked, taking off his hand from her.
“What do you think?” she asked coldly, a dark aura shrouding her.
Just what is she?
Pinkie Pie skipped in and slid onto Night Watch’s lap. “I see that you two are getting along well.”
“In a way, we are,” Night Watch said, relieved that Pinkie Pie jumped in. Diamond Tiara’s glare wore off and directed her attention to Pinkie Pie.
“What flavor is the cake?” she asked.
“Your favorite,” Pinkie Pie said, sticking a tongue out.
Diamond Tiara’s expression brightened. “Really?”
“Of course, why would I choose a cake you don’t like?”
“T-That’s true…”
“Pinkie Pie, is it okay with you if you get off my lap?” Night Watch asked, red in the face and shaking a little.
“Eh? Why? It’s so comfortable!” she replied, moving her rump side to side.
Fuck. Does she not know how a guy’s crotch works? “I just have to make rounds,” he said twitching, “Bodyguard stuff y’know.”
Pinkie Pie put a finger on her chin. “That’s true.” She slid off into a seat for Night Watch to get up.
“I’ll be back soon!” Night Watch said, waddling away. He zipped across the room into the back, leaving Pinkie Pie and Diamond Tiara.
“So how’s life, Diamond Tiara?” Pinkie Pie asked.
“Are we having this conversation again?”
11:50 A.M
“Happy Birthday, Diamond Tiara!” Filthy Rich said, uncovering a cart full of presents.
With a flip of a bright red cape, a golden carriage held boxes wrapped in beautiful wrapping paper.
“Wow, are these all for me?” she asked.
Her father smiled. “Of course. Everything is daddy’s little girl.”
“D-Dad, don’t embarrass me!” she exclaimed, turning red in the face.
“Right, right, I’m sorry.”
“Diamond Tiara, it’s amazing how you’re able to pay the tickets to get to Manehattan,” a light green filly said.
“She’s Diamond Tiara of course!” Silver Spoon jumped in, zipping up to her friend, “She can do anything!!”
The colts and fillies she invited over crowded around her, chattering away. Night Watch stood on the side with his arms crossed. “Is is how kids’ birthday parties are like?”
“No, all of them are different,” Pinkie Pie said, standing next to him.
When did she get here? Night Watch beaded sweat, knowing that Pinkie Pie was somewhere else for a time.
“Night Watch,” Pinkie Pie started out.
“Yes? What is it?” he asked.
“You’ve never had a party thrown for you, right?”
Night Watch scratched his chin. Throwing a party? What did that mean? “Does it hurt?” he asked.
Pinkie Pie snorted and giggled. “No, no, no! It’s a figure of speech, silly!”
“Oh,” Night Watch said, thinking of a hurricane of things thrown at him. “I see.”
“How about one at the end of this week?” she said, getting close to Night Watch’s face. “You’ll be free then, right?”
His face turned red from her getting close. “Y-Yes, of course.”
She gave a cute smile. “Here’s my address,” she said, grabbing Night Watch’s hand and gently placing a piece of paper inside, “Be sure to send me a telegram!” She walked towards the party, leaving Night Watch speechless.
W-What?
“Night Watch, can I see you in my office please?” Mr. Frazzers asked, walking up to him.
“Yeah, sure!”
12:00 P.M
The two sat down in the small messy office before Mr. Frazzers spoke. “Night Watch, I sincerely apologize for not informing you all of this,” he said.
Night Watch knew he was talking about Chica, Bonnie, and Freddie. “Hey, no problem,” Night Watch replied, “I now know why you were hesitating in giving me this job!”
“You were lucky, Night Watch,” he said direly, “It’s only a miracle that they didn’t do anything to you.”
“What do you mean?”
“My,” he paused, “children do not drive on electricity alone. What they do not know is that the ponies around them give them energy. Happiness. Joy. Laughter.”
He’s saying… Pinkie Pie?
“A child’s joy is a wondrous thing. It’s naive and innocent. However, it’s not enough for my children.” Mr. Frazzers gave a sigh. “You need to always be happy and have a smile on your face.” Night Watch thought about the information given to him.
“Don’t believe me?” he asked, pulling up a pants leg. Underneath was a prosthetic leg. “I had a limb torn off.” Night Watch gulped.
“I had given life to something I cannot control. I love them,” he said, looking at Night Watch in the eyes, “But my love is not enough.”
Night Watch stepped up. “What can I do to help?”
Mr. Frazzers perked his head up. “Y-You want to help?” He nodded. Mr. Frazzers gave a deep breath. “I’m going to tell you the truth. It’s because I need to.”
12:06 P.M
“Happy Birthday to yooou!!” a choir of voices chirped. A scarlet-faced Diamond Tiara had just experienced the longest and awkwardest 15-seconds of her life. While she loved attention, she just found herself grinning like an idiot.
She blew the candles on her pure white cake before thunderous applause filled the restaurant. She grinned. Yeah. This was better.
Night Watch was in passive thought. The conversation with Mr. Frazzers rocketed through his mind.
You must never tell anyone or anything that. Please, I beg of you. I trust you.
I trust you…
Night Watch made a face at that word. “Trust”. It was a funky thing, that. The next thing he knew, Diamond Tiara was glaring at him. She puffed up her cheeks. Her eyes felt like daggers. W-What did I do? Night Watch thought, feeling cold sweat bead up on him.
“What did you wish for, Diamond Tiara?” Silver Spoon asked.
“Hey, it’s my wish. I’m not sharing it with anyone!”
“Huh? Your face is turning red, is something wrong?” Silver Spoon said, “You’re not sick or anything, right?”
Night Watch felt the little devil’s eyes gaze right at him. He looked away from Diamond Tiara and shook. Why does it feel so ominous? He stepped out of her range and gave a deep sigh. However, all of the sudden, he felt his stomach get a rupturing blow. Night Watch gave a grunt and looked to see three small fillies on the ground.
“Ow, that hurt,” one said with an accent. She had red hair with a bright pink bow tie upon her head. Bright yellow skin radiated from her earth pony body.
“S-Sorry mister!” one voice squeaked. A white unicorn filly with pink and purple blended hair gave a nervous look.
“Are you okay?” the third one piped up. The orange pegasus sat on the ground with an apologetic stare.
“I’m fine, I’m fine,” Night Watch said, patting his stomach, “It was my fault for not looking where I was going.”
“Is Diamond Tiara’s birthday over there?” the white unicorn asked.
“Yep,” Night Watch nodded with a finger towards the party area, “Right there.”
“Thank you, mister!” the yellow earth pony said.
“Thank you!” the orange pegasus added on.
Night Watch watched the three walk towards the party area but couldn’t help overhear their conversation. “Why did Diamond Tiara invite us?” the earth pony muttered.
“Is this a trap or something?” the squeaky unicorn said.
“It seems fishy to me. Diamond Tiara doesn’t like us,” the pegasus said.
Diamond Tiara invited ponies she doesn’t like? That’s weird. Night Watch’s eyes caught Mr. Frazzers move with haste across the restaurant.
“Mr. Frazzers, you seem to be troubled, what’s up?”
“Oh, Night Watch! Thank the gods you’re still here! Look, I need your help.”
“Sure, what is it?”
“Here, follow me,” Mr. Frazzers said, walking towards the back, “Many of our staff in the kitchen can’t make it tomorrow. Can you work in the kitchen then?”
“Me? Kitchen?” Night Watch asked, pointing to himself. He suddenly remembered the horrors of him working with food. “N-No, it’s not good if you post me in the kitchen.”
“Relax, all you have to do is to bake frozen pizzas and keep it warm.”
“Really, that’s it?”
“That’s all there’s to it! The hay fries will be dealt with by the others and soft drinks are easy to serve!”
“It doesn’t sound that bad,” Night Watch said, “But then what about the security job?”
“It’s all on you, Night Watch,” Mr. Frazzers said, “I’ll gladly pay you extra!”
Pay…
Extra…
“You’ve got yourself a man in the kitchen, Mr. Frazzer!” Night Watch beamed, feeling confident in the new temporary position, “I’ll also happily work at the night shift!”
Mr. Frazzers clicked on a sound recorder and sighed. “Now I know that I won’t be sued for overworking you.”
The two were silent. “Are you actually that paranoid, Mr. Frazzer?”
“With all that had happened in the past? Yes.”
“Okay then.”
12:30 P.M
“Night Watch! Over here!” Pinkie Pie said, waving madly.
“Huh, what’s up?”
“Just come over here!”
He walked over to the table where Pinkie Pie was sitting in the midst of the fillies and colts. “What do you need me for?”
“Open wide!” she said, stuffing a slice of pizza inside his mouth.
Night Watch choked on the hot pie and gagged. “T-Tell me that you’re going to force feed me before doing that!”
“But what’s the fun in doing that?” Pinkie Pie said, taking a bite of a cheese pizza, “And it’s good! The pizzas here are homemade and are made fresh! Isn’t that cool?”
I probably shouldn’t tell anyone that these pizzas are frozen then. Night Watch watched Pinkie Pie wolf down her food.
“Hey, is that her coltfriend?” a purple filly whispered to a red colt.
“Looks like it,” the colt whispered back. Little did they know that Diamond Tiara was listening to every word.
“Hey, open wide again!” Pinkie Pie said after stuffing another slice into Night Watch’s mouth.
He coughed in response and grabbed the nearest cup to wash down the starch and dairy. The carbonated drink made him hiccup and grunt in response.
“P-Pinkie Pie, are you trying to kill me?”
“Night Watch, do you know who’s cup you drank out of?”
“Huh?”
She got closer to him. “You gave me a,” she paused and got even closer, “Indirect kiss,” she whispered.
His ears unleashed steam and his face got red hot. “I-I’m going out to get some fresh air!!” With that said, Night Watch sprinted on out.
“They’re a couple for sure,” the filly whispered.
“But don’t you think it’s weird that they’re at a birthday party to do this stuff?” the colt asked.
“Tha-That’s actually kind of true.”
Diamond Tiara suddenly got up and squirmed. “E-Excuse me!” she dashed on out, leaving the others speechless.
“Did she have to go to the bathroom?” a filly spoke up.
“It looked like it,” Silver Spoon said, “Oh, and what’s next, Pinkie Pie?”
“Let me check,” she said, scuffling a pad of paper.
“Pinkie Pie,” a voice of a filly spoke up.
“What is it, Apple Bloom?” Pinkie Pie replied, flipping a few pages.
“Are you dating him?”
“Night Watch?”
She giggled. “Nope. I’m just having fun.”
“S-She thinks that’s having fun?” a voice whispered in the background.
12:33 P.M
The brisk Manehattan air greeted Night Watch. He closed his eyes and gave a sigh. “I never knew working here would be hectic.” He looked towards the Freddy statue and gave a thumbs up towards it.
“You’re also friends with statues?” Diamond Tiara asked, watching the stallion in mid-thumps up.
Night Watch crossed his arms and looked away. “No! What do you think I am? A loser?”
Diamond Tiara didn’t say anything to that. “So, how’s life?” she asked.
“What’s with that question?” Night Watch said, very puzzled.
“Just answer the question.”
“Life, is, uh, tough I guess.”
“How tough?”
“It’s hard to live by yourself y’know,” Night Watch said, “You have to be mindful of what you have to spend, what not to spend, and know budget. Sometimes, I was one paycheck of being homeless!” He gave a chuckle, but Diamond Tiara didn’t have any of it.
“You’re poor, aren’t you?”
“In bitter reality, yes,” Night Watch said, “But you have a great dad, Diamond Tiara. Don’t use him to get gifts and other stuff. Love him.”
“Why are you so poor?” she asked curiously.
“It’s all too deep for you Diamond Tiara,” Night Watch said, “Besides, you have a birthday party to go to, right?”
“Why are you still talking to me?”
“Excuse me?”
“I’ve treated you like dirt and disrespected you,” Diamond Tiara said softly, “Yet, you’re still kind.”
“Well,” Night Watch said, walking up to the filly, “I’m your bodyguard, aren’t I?”
Later. Much later.
Night Watch,
I’ve asked my dad to give you something special at the end of this week.
Don’t miss it.
Or you’ll regret it.
Diamond Tiara
Night Watch stood in the dark lobby of the restaurant. With a Torch in hand and the dark of night, a new world was opening to him. He read the note over again. What’s going in that girl’s mind? There was Pinkie Pie’s promise too. What would he do about tha-
“Night Watch, is that you?” a familiar voice called out from the dark.
A new night was about to begin.
